Ama valley was a valley planted between two hills, the warriors of

Odudu matched in from one hill, the valley was vast and wide, the

warriors of Odudu had arrived in time, waiting for their opponents to

show up, every one was ready for the long awaiting war, the newly

enrolled warriors were very eager, they weren't happy when the warriors of Agbadu had not come; they waited and moved their faces all

around the scene of war, every warrior waited with his hands glued to

their swords and shield, the bow men had taking a formation behind the

sword men. There was a grave-yard silence, the unexpected could occur

any moment, stiff with terror, Adesuna's heart pounded loudly, his teeth clattered. This was his first appearance in the battle field; the thought of where their opponents will bashed out from was his concern, he clinged tightly to his sword as he looks around again and

again, he watched to see other warriors mutter some unheard words to their colleagues; terror suffused his senses. "This is a real life night mare." He whispered in

sheer astonishment, he quickly took a Sharp glance at his sword as he

awaits the aftermath. The grave-yard silence elongated. The sun was

shining in all its full strength, only a slight of shadows of vultures waiting to feast on the carcasses of men; they

offered no relief from the arduous burning of the sun that stood directly above their heads.

In the middle of the endless seeming stillness, the beating of drums blasted like a thunder-like sound from a

distance, a troupe was advancing them, the beating was the sound of

war, hearing the beating, Adesuna's heart spit in twos; the sound

got louder- indicative of the fact that their opponents were very close; "they should be pushing their way up the hill by now," Adesuna reasoned, he had barely seen a single man yet, only the dreadful sound of the drum of war, the echoes of the drums exploded  behind them like a thunder clap; now, the drum beating had become stronger accompanied with a strange chant, a chant that was unfamiliar to

Adesuna, the sky thickened by the blackness of a cloud of vultures

flying three sixty in the empty sky, suddenly the warriors of Agbadu

were seen clopping down from the 'Everest' mountain that was mounted directly opposite them; the men floated toward them like an erosion, the sound of their

feet were like that of a stallion of a thousand horses, the opposing warriors seemed to double them, like a herd of elephants, they advance. Adesuna was puzzled by the fearsome sight of the approaching men, when the men were a few miles closer to them, they stopped as two scary looking men separated out of the troupe, walked towards them, by this time, Adesuna's company had began to chant their own song, this was to keep the heart of every warrior warmed and fearless. Jeem! Jeem!...... Jeem...!,

...Jeem! Jeem! Jeem...!

Then, Ajaka and their king stepped out to meet with the oncoming

men, they were the King and chief warrior of Agbadu kingdom.

When they had met, Oro the King of Agbadu laughed, and then spoke at

the top of his voice. "Today, your kingdom will become a heap of

rubble!" He threatened fire and brimstone. "I warned you

but you were too deaf to listen, it is only a stubborn fly that accompanies the diseased to the grave." The King of Odudu quickly replied. "Stop ranting like a child; the baby on his mother's back doesn't know how far the journey is!" A hard smile grimaced on the face of the King of Agbadu as he threatened that the battle should begin, "let the fight tell the rest of the story!" He said as he and his chief warrior walked backward... When Adesuna heard the words that had fallen from the lips of the King, a spark of fire lit up in his soul as if a camp fire has been lit

within him... The fire burns more within him as his troupe ran to

collide with the oncoming troupe; this time his feelings of nostalgia had died completely. The two kingdoms collided in a fearsome manner. The clattering sound of swords, spears and shield coupled with the yelling of the warriors took over the desert valley. As a young fighter, Adesuna was enclosed in between the wall of his battalion, he was trapped within the state of undulating, their opposition pressed hardly with a strong brutality, at this time, the blood of men had begun to taint the swords of Warriors, pangs of

wailing welled up from the lungs of injured warriors, Adesuna had had

no confrontations yet, he watched sternly as his head rotates ninety

degrees sideways, he was trapped in the web of his puzzled composition. "Adesuna" a voice called him in o low key; he quickly turned towards the direction where the voice had come from; but non seemed to had mentioned his name, "maybe it is my head that is calling me?" He

thought, while he was still wondering where the voice had come from, the

voice came again; although louder and stronger this time , "Adesuna! Adesuna!! fight and

kill!" At this time Adesuna reasoned that the gods had spoken to him,

he was left with no choice than to consider to disposition himself; he

forced his way out of the middle of the crowded troupe where he was

wedged between his troupe, breaking through the walls of the warriors, he meandered his way sideways towards the left, in a short

while, he was at the verge, he edged forward into the place where the battle was most intense, he moved towards an opponent, a middle age man, in an attacking motion, with his sword, he stroke him on his head with a razor Sharp jab, thereby knocking the man down, the man screamed as he helplessly crashed down beneath

Adesuna's feet, before long he was soaked in the pool of his own blood; Adesuna, who had stricken him on the head, watch the man as he struggled for survival; he moved slowly on his hands and knees; he struggled to

take hold of life in the misty dust, Adesuna, again struck the man's

head with his sword, blood splashed the more all over his body, the

man's face masked with his blood, he could barely see a thing, this

time, he dragged his body which was already vibrating, he grasped for breath until he passed

away. Adesuna sighed, the shock of killing someone for the first time got him frozen in a spot; while entangled in the horror of the fear of killing someone for the first time, he watched as a warrior ran his

sword through an opponent's stomach, the victim fell headlong and

died. "This would have saved a time in a stitch, if I had done same to

the man i just killed." He thought, with a blank concern to

know whether the person that was pierced through was a foe or a

friend; he had learnt a real life lesson. He approached another fellow

with the attempt to thrust his sword through him, the man defended

quickly with his shield, with a cruel resentment, the man quickly retaliated with a vengeful force, he countered attack with a huge strike, Adesuna defended helplessly as he moved backward and sideways in an uncontrollable manner. Adesuna was yet to lay hold of the full spirit of the battle field. The man smiled seeing the amateurishness displayed by him, the man's manner revealed that Adesuna was a walkover. "This man must be more skilled than the first man." Adesuna thought within himself, being fascinated by the skill displayed by the supposed experienced antagonist. The tall giant man again swung his sword and jabbed him furiously as hard as he could, Adesuna tumbled as he rolled over and over in slight slope, he was a

short distance away from the man, Adesuna quickly leaped up from the sun scorching desert, the fearsome looking man was unwilling to relent, he swung his sword the

third time, at this time, their both swords clashed, Adesuna again

almost fell, the man pushed forward, pressing very hard, but Adesuna stood firm with his feet planted into the burning soil, in a brutal repression, he groaned to release more energy in order to stand the horrible looking man, the struggle persisted, at this time Adesuna moved backward as he

couldn't withstand his masculinity, the man again tried to jab him with another brutal strike, Adesuna dodged, the man crashed terribly into the hot desert soil, he quickly advanced him, he ran his sword into the man's side, the man's face wore a look of

disbelief with his eyes staring in a bleak astonishment, his eyes almost coming out of the sockets, he tried to

stand up but, Adesuna pierced him again and again, the man grope hauntingly, as darkness seemed to had covered his eyes, he moaned, trying to force his way out of the claws of death, he died.

Adesuna is now learning by a real life experience; the bodies of dead

men were littered everywhere, tension and anxiety had vanished completely from him, this time the whole desert was densed with a cloud of powdered dust, Adesuna in a more violent move, he butchered more opponents, the warriors of Odudu now seemed to be having an upper hand, the double troupe of Agbadu warriors had reduced drastically. "War is not won by number, but by strength, power

and fortitude!" the king's words echoed in Adesuna's head. When the

King of Agbadu kingdom realised that he was losing more men, he

instructed his drummer to strike the drum for a retreat, they retreated and fled into the forest, although the warriors of Odudu chased after them inflicting more damages on them, most of the their warriors

fell down along the bush paths, some of the men who were injured as

the ran, were pierced to death, after a long chase, they were lured

into another valley where the people of Agbadu kingdom had dug some

holes covered with leaves and grasses, some of the Warriors of Odudu fell into the holes, and were brutally injured, when they realised the

deception, they followed through another path to keep the hot pursuit,

they chased them into their very kingdom, for three days they inflicted

more injuries on the people of Agbadu, the battle was so severe that

the warriors of Abgadu ran out of their fortress, Agbadu kingdom was set

ablaze, the warriors of Odudu returned with so much spoils, it took

them three days to convey the spoils, they returned the third day at

sun set, the people of Odudu also lost some of their warriors, why

amongst the surviving ones, were mixture of those that sustained both

fatal and minor injuries. Adesuna's father enlisted among the injured

warriors.
