TEDDY'S P.O.V
I watched out the window the entire drive, taking in the beautiful surroundings. I had neverimagined how vibrant and beautiful the outside world would look. If I knew what I was missing, Iwould've snuck away more. With not having a wolf, I did not have the urge to run on a normalbasis, so I would just lock myself away in my room with a cup of tea and a nice book. I wouldoften sit in my window seal and read as the sun shined down, giving me a sense of peace. I hadnever seen anything outside of my pack lands, so the beautiful mountains and roads spoke to mysoul on a deeper level. We soon passed a sign 'Welcome to Colorado'. I have lived in Texas myentire life; this was all new surroundings.
Texas was hot, while here I saw the white crystals of snow peaking on the mountain tops. Wehave snow sometimes in Texas, but nothing like this. The temperature adjustments will definitelybe something I will have to get used to. Although I did not spend any time outside, I stillexperienced the Texas heat while indoors, especially when sitting at the window and the raysbeating down on me. After some time of driving, we finally pulled onto a dirt road. I am surewhen the snow melted, leaving this street was not an easy task to do. Trees lined the windingroad until a humongous home came into view. The house was more like a mansion, suitable for aking, no doubt. It stood tall, bricks on the bottom painted white in color which blended into awooden structure that was painted a light gray, giving welcoming vibes. In the driveway stood abeautiful fountain with a wolf in the middle, water coming from its mouth as it went back intothe base until it was redistributed. Everything was breathtaking. No doubt the Queen's doing. Thecar came to a stop as I looked over my shoulder to the Queen.
"We are here." She said as the door was opened for her to exit the car. The driver then wentaround the back of the car, opening the door for me. I exited the car still looking around at thebeautiful scenery. I envisioned myself sitting on the bench in the winding garden with a book inmy hand. I hoped they had books here. I live my life through books. They brought me sanitywhile living my life, they also brought me peace I didn't have otherwise. Alight tap was on myarm, my eyes breaking away from the garden to see a small figure in front of me. The girl hadbrown bouncing hair as it curled around her face, her hands clutching my bag. Ahinge of rednesson her plump cheeks. She let out a breath, the air in front of her turning to smoke in the coldnessof the air. Her brown eyes searched my own for a moment before speaking.
"This way, madam." She said before turning around and trotting away in the direction of thehouse. I followed suit. When entering the house, I gasped. The interior designers really haveoutdone themselves with this. It was like a section from home garden magazines. The pale whitewalls made the inside look bigger, although it didn't need help, it was already huge on its own. There was a big opening that served as the entrance. On each side were stairs that both led to thefirst floor, a balcony that over-looked the entrance way. At the top was a crystal chandler thatdangled down. Below the balcony was a hallway that led further into the house. I was sure to getlost on my own. It was so entrancing with its beauty. I had never had the pleasure of seeinganything more stunning with my own eyes. I was so caught up in my thoughts about how my lifecould be, that I almost forgot what was happening. I was sent to serve the King in bed for an heir.I needed to remind myself of that so that I didn't lose sight of the truth. I was damaged and hewould never truly want damaged goods like me. The queen found love in her contract, but I hadthis churning gut feeling that I was entering a loveless contract no doubt. How could I, theworthless, disabled, and useless daughter of an Alpha, ever have true happiness? The answer was,I wouldn't.
"Follow me, the King is waiting." The lady from before said as she took my arm within her own.
We walked below the balcony before entering a very long hallway. There were several doorsalong the walls with hidden rooms behind them. We finally reached another huge door that wasopen. When we entered, I saw many tables cascading throughout the room. It was the dining hall,no doubt. To the side was an open kitchen that had hotplates in a window-like structure, whichwas separating the kitchen from the hall, used for a buffet, no doubt.
I could see a bulky man facing away from us. His back ripped with muscles; you could literallysee everything through his tight shirt. In front of him stood the Queen, or previous Queen,Lilyanna. I assumed they were talking, but I couldn't be sure since I couldn't actually hear. Hisarms moved from his sides to cross in front of his body, making the muscles pronounce evenmore. He had short raven black hair just like his mother. Would he also have her button nose andbeautiful eyes? Or would that part of him favor his father? I had this sudden desire. No. It wasmore like a need to see his face. Seeing his backside made a sudden desire wash over me that Icouldn't explain. Something inside of me begged for my body to move closer, to smell his scent,to touch his ripping muscles. Adesire I had never had before. I contained myself, however, hewas the king and did not need someone like me grabbing at him, no matter how much I wished Icould. The need confused me. But the thoughts of desire consumed me. I needed to see his face.As if he heard my thoughts, he turned around.
"You must be Teddy?" I read on his lips. My body went limp at that moment completely taken back. Shit. Fuck.
I was starstruck at his gorgeous features. He had the most vibrant golden eyes I had ever seen, nothing like his mother's. I assume he must've inherited this from his father. He had a chiseledface with a beard to match his hair. I wanted to run my hand inside his hair and beard to feel thetexture difference. I was so lost with myself that I missed what he had said. Apanic coursedthrough me that wasn't there a moment ago. His face turned into a scowl at not answeringwhatever he had said. "Forgive her Fenris, she cannot hear." I read from Lilyanna's lips. "What doyou mean she cannot hear?" He addressed his mother, but his eyes never left me. "She was borndeaf," Lilyanna replied, immediately making my eyes dart away from his gaze, wanting to lookanywhere but at his face. I don't think I could handle the disgust on his face about havingcontracted a mate such as myself. I then felt a rough hand grab my chin, bringing my green eyesto meet his golden orbs. I shiver ran down my body at the con
TEDDY'S P.O.VI looked back at the timid girl who still stood in the doorway. Not wanting to scare her any more than she already was. I decided to try and talk to her."I am Teddy," I said out loud, trying to overcome my fear of them all making fun of my voice. Her head shot up to look at me."Queen Teddy.""Please, just Teddy.""The King said...""Can you at least call me Teddy when it's just us two? Please." I begged. Asmall smile tugged at her lips."My name is Imagen.""Can you write it for me? I need to make sure I read it correctly." I said as Ihanded her the pen and paper I had in my pocket from when the queen handed it to me in the car. She carefully wrote her name out."Imagen?" I asked out loud. She shook her head yes in response."It is nice to meet you, Imagen," I said immediately following."Likewise. Where are you from?" She asked, her eyes bulging at her bravery."I am sorry, that was not my place to ask, it is none of my business about your personal life I..""Red Blo
CHAPTER 7 PREPARING FOR THE KINGTEDDY'S P.O.VImagen worked hard on my hair, in the end resulting in something more beautiful than I could have ever done myself. She had my hair in a half-up, half-down style. The top part is with a fishtail braid, leaving a few strands to curve around my face at the front. The tail was lying down on the curled bottom half. It looked more like a wedding style rather than a dinner style. I felt fancy for the first time in my life. I did a once over while looking in the full-body mirror. The dress snugged tightly around my body, accenting all the right spots. The v-line dipped low in the back, stopping just above my bum. The back had a little stone string attachment that dangled down my spine. There was a slit on the right leg to show off my calf and lower thigh. She did my makeup to match my shoes, red. She had me wearing heels, the heels not being too high, maybe 2-3 inches. Thanks to the goddess because I have never worn heels before. My eyes raked o
CHAPTER 8 UNDERSTANDINGFENRIS'S P.O.VI asked an intrusive question. But I wasn't wrong in doing so. She was weak, scared, and as far as I could tell, she had no qualities that a Queen should have or portray to her kingdom. I am not sure why my mother decided on her. Yes, my match had to be a virgin, but surely there was another she-wolf born of an Alpha bloodline that had her virginity still intact. Ashe-wolf that was at least brave enough to speak when spoken to.Teddy was deaf, which was rare to find in a wolf. It is also not a good gene to pass down to your heir when breeding for the next king. Did my mother not consider that either? What else was it about this she-wolf that would be deemed unfit to stand at my side as my queen? I wasn't trying to be a dick. I was just looking out for the future of my kingdom as I thought my mother was supposed to be doing. I am just confused about what made her possibly think that Teddy was worthy of being the next queen. What made her think tha
CHAPTER 9 FINE DININGTEDDY'S P.O.VHis questions were a sore spot for me, but I wasn't going to shield the truth, especially when it is public knowledge in my pack and is not hard to find out."Why did she die while giving birth?""My cord was wrapped around my throat as I was coming out, something ruptured from the inside from what I was told, and she begged him to save me over her.""Then why would they blame you if it was her request?""My dad wasn't there to command him to save her instead, otherwise I wouldn't be here today. She hemorrhaged because of a rupture that I caused. Therefore, her death was my fault and he made sure to always let me know.""How did they treat you?"I sat and thought about the answer for a moment. Trying to find the correct words to say."It wasn't all sunshine and rainbows nor was it close to a fairytale life. But I had food to eat, clothes to wear, and a roof over my head. So, I can't say my situation was as bad as some may have it."I couldn't seem t
CHAPTER 10 CHOICESFENRIS'S P.O.VThe moans leaving her mouth sent a thrill of excitement through me. Asound that my body reacts to on its own accord. My wolf was on edge, something he had never done before in the presence of a woman. I was glad I had requested the dining hall to be closed to the pack for the night. It not only gave me a chance to speak to her freely without having others hear, but now I see the effect she already had on me and that is also something nobody needed to witness. I would need to control myself better around her, especially in the company of others. The last thing I needed was a weakness. I haven't found a weakness within myself yet and I didn't plan to obtain one now.'Use more of those sexy words, I can smell her, she wants us.' My wolf roared in my head.'Not now, Kingston. This is not the time nor the place.' I tried reasoning with my wolf.'Then when is it the time? I want her, she wants us. Right here, right now should be the time. Here on the table,
CHAPTER 11 REALIZATIONSTEDDY'S P.O.VWe walked hand in hand until we reached my bedroom door. It was a weird feeling holding a man's hand, but it was also electrifying at the same time. Once, we reached my bedroom door. He let go of my hand to reach into his jacket and withdrew a box, handing it to me. I looked down and saw a phone on the box cover."Now we can communicate by texting too." He said with a smile."How do I work it?" I asked. I had never owned a cellphone, so I wouldn't know the first thing about operating it."I have your number stored in my phone. When I text, you can save my info on your phone by hitting the number, info, then save. The rest will come naturally when you play with it, but if you can't figure it out, Imagen can assist, or I can.""Thank you," I said before wrapping my arms around him and pushing my body up against his in a tight embrace. Not even thinking he might not hug people. I could feel his breathing deepen and his muscles flex under his suit, wh
CHAPTER 12 It’s overFENRIS'S P.O.VIf I hadn't been careful, I would have taken her right then and there up against the wall. She was perfect to a default. Her body begged for me. Her smooth legs, rounded ass, her nice breasts popped from the top of her dress. It all screamed to be worshiped. When I ran my hands in her hair it all felt so natural, like second nature. Something I never expected. I keep trying to find anything that isn't attractive about her, but I come up short every single time. Her disability wasn't good for a king to possess, no, but it fits her. It made her more appealing, and I have no clue why or how that was even possible. When I made it back to my room, Lydia was sitting on the edge of my bed with a scowl."Lydia, we've talked about this," I said, rubbing my face out of sexual frustration about walking away from what I wanted and out of pure frustration that I had to repeat myself to her."Come on, you can't be serious?""I am very serious. It wasn't a joking
