King Lincoln was overly surprised as he stared at Roseline who was standing in front of him.
He'd been hearing some sounds in the bush and decided to run towards the direction and to his surprise, it turned out to be Roseline.
"My King!!" Roseline gasped in sheer relief and without thinking straight, she jumped on him, hugging him tight.
"Oh my God...!" She whimpered on his shoulders, her body still vibrating in fear of what had recently happened. She couldn't believe she found the King; someone that was sure to save her.
Yes, because with him, she felt so secured.
"My King..." She whimpered again.
Lincoln felt something melt in his heart as she held him thst way. All the anger he'd felt towards her, everything he planned on doing as soon as he sets his eyes on her, they all dwindled from his memory when she hugged him.
"Sssh. You're safe now. You're safe" he found
Roseline fell into the King's hands Immediately, finding it so hard to even breathe."My King..." She called weakly, holding onto him like her life so much depended on him."You're fine now" Lincoln stated gruffly and brought her gently to lie on the floor.Roseline could feel her waist hurting a bit. Almost every part of her body was hurting. And as her body touched the floor, she felt her muscles relaxing."Thank you" She muttered to the King, probably thanking him for helping her lie on the floor.Lincoln nodded and sat next to her, right above her head."When are we going back?" She asked fraily, struggling so hard with the dizziness that overwhelmed her and Lincoln could notice."Maybe by morning. We can't leave now. It's late" he told her."But... won't the enemies find us here...?" She asked and Lincoln shrugged.
Could this just be a coincidence? Roseline thought."Roseline? Is there a problem?" The princess asked, realizing how deep in thoughts Octavia was."Um...Yeah. I mean, I don't know. It's just thar..."she paused and licked her lower lip."The guy I just told you about - Marcus - the one who sold me out""Yes? Yes?" Martha nodded in agreement."Um...When I was still at his place,, a Friend of his had come to visit him and this friend actually warned me to run away because Marcus was a bad person. My point is - his name was Aiken".Martha paused."Although, I know there could be a hundred Aikens in the world, but I just felt like letting you know that i met someone who's name was also Aiken"."Yeah, I understand" Martha muttered as she stared at the floor in thought.Could this just be a coin
Marcus!!" Aiken shrieked in fright, his eyes dilating in shock. What the hell is that??? What's happening???His eyes went round immediately and found the shooter at the top of a fence, trying to fix another arrow into his bow.Marcus had already dropped to the floor, bleeding profusely and it was obvious he wasn't gonna make it. And without further hesitation, Aiken started running away before the Archer would finish up."Damn it!" The archer groaned as he watched the boy running away. His hands shook a little as he tried fixing the arrow into the bow but by the time he finally did, the boy was already out of sight. He stood up from his position immediately and started the race - trying to run after him.No! He couldn't lose the boy. Not now! Not when he was so close. He'd been trying to shoot at him, but the stupid friend was standing in the way and running out o
Roseline felt relief and energy pumping right into her body.Hold on; did she just hear him correctly???"Y...You can help??" Martha asked with dilating eyes."I... think so. Although, I was still little back then, but I can recall some of the things mum had used in performing the ritual". He answered.."Ritual?" Roseline asked, finding the word scary."Ysah. But it isn't the kind of ritual you think it is. Both of you just need to lay in sperate boxes and...some items would be used. If I can be given enough resources to get the items, I'm sure I can do it"."And how long do you need to need to get these items?" Lincoln asked."Um... Let's say a day or two. I should be done by then". He answered and a few seconds of silence passed."Okay, then" the King spoke up."My guards would accompany you to get whatever you need. And by the time you're done, you'll be brought over to the palace to begin the proc
Roseline gasped and touched her cheek which the princess had slapped.Whaat?? She slapped her!Even the maid beside her was surprised because the action wasn't called for."Next time, you watch where you're going". Cara stated spitefully and tried walking away."Was that really neccesary?" Roseline asked and Cara stopped walking."Are you talking to me?" She scoffed. "Do you want me to pull your hair?"She suddenly gripped her hair and pulled it hard."Let me go!!" Roseline winced and tried freeing herself from her grasp, but it wasn't working out.Who the hell is this woman??"Cara!" They heard a voice and Cara let go of her hair immediately. It was the King!"My King!" She called and bowed immediately and Roseline also turned to look at Lincoln.Hold on; could it be possible he'd felt the slap as well??"Roseline thought.Lincoln looked so angry as he marched towards them with his guard
Martha walked quietly to the room, her mind still reflecting at what had happened to Princess Cara. But why did she had to slap Roseline, huh? It was obvious the King had known she slapped her because he'd felt the pains as well. Oh geez! That was so pathetic for someone like her.Well, Cara was too rude and she knew it. The lady has always been nasty, proud and possessive and it was quite unfortunate it had landed her into trouble.*She got to her room and found Sally playing with her hair brush."Oh! Finally, you're back" she rolled her eyes as she stood up from the chair and went to sit on the bed instead. "Where have you been anyway? And I heard your brother sent Princess Cara away. Is that true?""How rumours spread" Martha shook her head and also sat on the bed and Sally chuckled."You should know by now, Martha, that badnews spreads faster than goodnews. Anyway, is i
Lincoln's hands grew weak immediately.Whaat??? Sally?? Martha's friend??His brows arched as he looked at the man who was still panting heavily."You liar" he growled. "You're trying to blame someone else for your own mistakes?? Tell me the truth or I'll kill you?!!""It is the truth!" The man yelled in fear just as the King lifted the sword again. He couldn't take it anymore. Never."You can ask your sister" he continued, his eyes nearly bulging out. "When you were still sick and she'd discovered the healer could be of help, who was the first and only person she told?? It was her friend. Apart from both of you, who else knew about the secret of the bond? It was her friend! Apart from both of you, who else knew about the boy - Aiken? It was her friend! Sally had always been the third party in everything! You just never noticed!"Lincoln was finding it so hard to believe; the words were too heavy for him.Although, he wasn'
"Martha!" Roseline called excitedly as she lifted her head from the bed."You're awake".Martha went quiet as she tried to recollect her environment. She was in her room, on her bed. But the last she could remember...she was at the stream."Where's she?" Her voice was almost a whisper and Roseline had a feeling she was talking about Sally.A pathetic feeling crept into her heart."She escaped": she replied her. "The guards couldn't get her'.Martha's lids were getting closed again."Sally..." She muttered the name and a tear came rolling down her cheek."Sally...Sally betrayed me. She...she left me to drown".Roseline felt so bad for her, knowing a lady she knew as her friend and told all her secrets to was the same person that betrayed her.Although, she's never had any friend before since she was locked up her entire life. But her nanny Hapitha was someone she considered as a friend
Roseline was pacing restlessly in the room when Martha rushed in and told her the King was calling for her in his chambers."Huh?? Why???" She asked worriedly, her heart beating so rapidly."Come on, Rose. There's nothing to be worried about. He only wants to talk about the baby" Replied Martha as she held her hand and led her out of the room.**Roseline arrived at the King's Chambers and had a conversation with him about the baby. She explained how it happened and also made him understand that was the reason she was actually there at the palace because she'd been looking for a means to tell him about it.Lincoln also poured out his worries of seeing her with Aiken the previous night and Roseline was dumbfounded because she had no idea he'd seen then. She took out time to explain it to him as well that it was just a game and pleaded forgiveness.*In the end, Lincoln had t
The next morning, Martha had gone to the King's chambers like she said.At first, Lincoln had ordered the guards not to let her in, saying he didn't want to see anyone. But when Martha insisted, he just had to let her in."Make it quick, Martha. I have important things to do" he stated grumpily, fixing his gold beltHuh? Why was he acting grumpy? Martha thought. She suddenly felt a little nervous. Just a little."It's um...it's about Roseline, Lincoln".Lincoln paused and turned to look at her. Was she there to tell him about her lover? He thought."What about her?" He asked and it took Martha some time before she finally said the words:"She's pregnant".*Lincoln thought he heard something funny; Martha was joking.Hold on... What did she just say?? Who was pregnant?
"isn't that Roseline?" Valerie asked, pretentiously surprised.Lincoln watched quietly and couldn't say a word.Roseline? With Aiken? Why were they together in that manner? Kissing?A pain he never knew existed, struck hard at him immediately."Wow! So, they were lovers afterall? No wonder..." Valerie muttered, expecting Lincoln to ask her *no wonder what?*But he didn't.He just stared confusingly at them as they had already stopped kissing and just stared at each otherHe took his gaze away from the scene immediately and without saying a word, he turned around and started walking away.Valerie smiled mischievously to herself and went after Lincoln. As she walked beside him, she could notice it; could feel it. He'd turned extremely cold and it kind of hurt he to know he was acting
"Aiken?" Martha called in surprise.Woah! She couldn't recall the last time she actually saw him."Hi, Martha" he smiled warmly at her with a wave and tried taking a peep into the room but it was clearly impossible."How've you been, Aiken? It's been months now" Martha said, still holding the door."Yeah... that's true. I've been fine and you?""I'm good".There was a brief pause, then he asked:"Is Roseline in? I actually heard she's here and decided to drop by to say hi to her"."Oh,...Yes, she's in. Please, come in" she opened the door wider for him and he stepped in with a genial smile.Roseline who'd been listening the whole time, suddenly gasped she saw Aiken walking in."Aiken!" She beamed and stood up to go hug him."My God! I can't believe
Roseline rushed to stand in front of the window."Oh! How do I get home Martha? It's raining so heavily" she asked worriedly, looking out the window and immediately, Martha joined her."Well, if you can't go home today, you might just spend the night here. Right?" She asked with a shrug."What? You should know I can't, Martha. I lied to my father I was only taking a walk with you and he's only going to end up being so worried when I don't get home. So, sleeping here isn't an option, Martha" she explained."Urgh! Fine, then. Let's just wait and pray the rain subsides soon" she answered and walked away, leaving Roseline in dismay.*Martha suggested they waited in her room and Roseline having no choice, had to go with her.The rain was still quite heavy and considering her condition, she couldn't help but falll asleep as soon as they were
Roseline walked nervously with Martha into the palace, her heart racing faster than it should.God! As the clock ticked, so she felt so scared. Was this going to end well? The maids and guards they came across kept bowing and greeting to them, although Martha was the one answering to them since Roseline was so depressed."You'll be fine, Okay?" She whispered to Roseline along the way and all she could do was manage a smile. They got to the dining room and the long table had already been dressed with meals - appropriately."The King said he'd be busy right?" Roseline turned to Martha and asked. "What if he refuses to come?""Um... let me go check up on him. Just stay here" Martha replied and hurried off while Roseline took a seat.**Getting to the King's room, Martha couldn't help but feel nervous before knocking on it. W
Valerie's jaws dropped immediately. Whaaar???Her eyes darkened as she looked at the maid in front of her."What the hell are you talking about?" Her voice was cold and deadly."My mother told me, Mistress. She told me when she'd passed out, she noticed it and even told the princess about it" Anna explained. The physician was actually her mother.Valerie felt her heart suddenly become so heavy as she walked some steps away, staring down at the floor.Roseline was pregnant? She was.... pregnant?? For who exactly? For the King??"Good saviors" she mumbled, her brows furrowed deep in confusion. That lady was pregnant?? How possible?? And even Martha knew about it???Could it be possible it's for the King? But .. she wasn't so sure they've told him already."Mistress, are you
Roseline stared pathetically at her as she walked away, somehow, her words sounded like mockery to her."I hope you don't come back here". Her words resounded in her head. But how does she do that when she's carrying the King's child? Martha is right. She really couldn't do this alone.Shortly, Martha returned with some guards who were meant to ride the carriage."Come on, let's go" she said to Roseline as she headed towards the carriage."Hold on, you're going with me?" Roseline asked and Martha stopped to look at her."Yes. Is there a problem?""Uh... I don't think that's neccesary, Martha. I'll be fine on my own...""Seriously Roseline? Are you kidding me? I brought you here and I'm taking you home. Come on, let's go". She held her hand and entered into the carriage with her.
Pregnant. The words resounded in Roseline's head. Her jaws dropped immediately as she looked at the princess, wondering if she was playing with her emotions or something."What...did you just say?" She asked fraily, her voice helplessly shaking."I'm as surprised as you are, Roseline" Martha shook her head. "I mean...when the healer had told me about it ..I was really surprised. You didn't know about it, did you?"Roseline couldn't say a word and only shook her head as she was too muddled to react. She was pregnant? Like... carrying a child? She was going to be a mother soon? Good lord! She was pregnant?!"Roseline..." Martha called tenderly and held her hand, making her look at her. "Who's responsible?""For what?" She asked, completely oblivious to the whole thing."For the... baby. Like, who's the father of the child?" Martha spelt it out f
