The creatures continue to hold Alex’s unconscious body into the air. buzzing loudly above the vast marshlands, looking like a yellow predator on top of the food chain. Their ability to shoot the target precisely no matter the distance makes them terrifying to the preys on the land. With their poison arrows, one shoot could be lethal for it contains toxin that will lead its victim to become paralyzed. Although bees are widely known for its vital role in the environment because of its ability to pollinate, these five-foot monstrous creatures are a different matter.
Gaining consciousness, Alex slowly opened his eyes. Gazing thirty feet below the ground made Alex’s flesh shrivel tremendously. Are they going to drop me? He thought. Both of his arms are locked by the creatures’ feet, his body hanging around the spacious sky. Being held captured, Alex could not stop being amazed of how big the marshland was. Trees of varying sizes along with the muddy grounds separated in the different parts of the land looking like a paradise for different animals and insects alike. Animals and insects hop, swim and walk around the swamps making use of the marshland’s serenity and abundance. Alex knew that this scene is a canvas to his own perception of beauty and wonder. Flying, his eyes continue to wander around. His mind tends to forget about the dreadful situation he’s currently in for he has been captivated by the beauty of the land.
Looking far from the horizon, there he saw a massive structure erected on the great land. Upon the grass stands a massive building with holes shaping pentagons. Giant bees continue to swarm around it carrying things that Alex does not want to know. Loud buzzes echo around the giant hive spreading the smell of a sweet nectar. The three creatures who carried Alex are now getting near, Alex tried to stay behave, getting ready to be a future sweet delicacy. The pentagon-shaped-holes grew bigger as they went nearer, revealing the sticky walls inside filled with nectars. In his surprise, common-sized bees are also inside and not just those big bee-like creatures. They further went deep into the hive that became like a giant cave for it’s made up of tunnels.
Alex continued to observe the tunnels as he was being held captive by the creatures. Astounded, A series of shining lights of gold guided Alex and the creatures into the hive’s depths. Taking the helpless human into the center of the hive, and into the queen. Along the way, the same creatures continue to do their jobs as they pass one another, but they never talked but rather strangers with each other. Guess this type of bees don’t treat their comrades as their friends, Alex thought to himself. With a sudden turn, the bees moved rapidly into the hive and left Alex in shock as he witness the center of the hive. A massive space filled with juicy nectars in its walls filled Alex’s sight as he continues to fly through it. It looks like a giant arena in his past world, where people go to watch concerts, but instead of seats around it, it’s filled with blocks of hardened nectars. The creatures responsible for Alex’s capture flew towards the center where a giant tower of nectar was standing. The nectars glowed the color of gold, overwhelming the entire space with glittering lights. As they continue to fly upwards Alex saw a much bigger bee-like creature in the middle. Sitting on a throne which was Alex thought still made of hardened nectar. The creatures put Alex down, stepping onto the gold-plated floor. The creatures bowed in front of their queen, leaving Alex in great confusion of what he must do, instead Alex just stood up. He’s going to be food anyway. He thought. the creature in the middle spoke in a different language. A language that Alex could never decipher. Then the queen bee spoke to Alex. “You, human. How did you get here?” pointing her furry finger towards Alex. He secretly clenched his fist, trying to be calm in the situation. “I don’t know, I just woke up and suddenly, I was already here.” He answered. The queen stood up; Alex turned pale as he witnessed the queen’s size. He could not see it since she was sitting before. But the queen is bigger than any other bee-like creatures. A seven-foot tall human-like bee stood up in front of him looking like the sweet god of death. Her hands do not possess any weapon but he knows that it can kill him with her bare hands because of its size. The queen’s neck has a round furry thing that looks like a neck pillow making her look grander that the rest of the bees. Unlike any other bees, the queen bee has two sets of arms instead of one while the other bees have their other set of arms in their waist. The queen’s feet are long and pointed and not shaped as arcs like the other human-like bees.
“Another human.” The queen muttered. “what do you mean another human? Am I not the only one here?” Alex asked, out of the queen’s intriguing statement. The queen laughed and then turned angry. “Humans are disgusting! Such foul creatures walking around my kingdom!” she then, turned her back to Alex. The queen’s butt was bigger than other bees. The queen bees are the ones who lay eggs for the other bees to be born. Alex guessed. “Into the dungeon!” the queen bee commanded the creatures. They grabbed Alex’s hands and flew right where the dungeon is. A series of tunnels have been passed by them. While Alex tries to make familiar with the architecture, he realized that even when he escaped, there’s no way he could get past these tunnels. Flying deeply into the cave the creatures continue to fly rapidly. Then Alex saw a prison that is also made from hardened nectar.
Then, familiar faces greeted him with glee. “Alex!” shouted Darline, her face didn’t change but her uniform became rugged and dirty. It seems like she’s been there for quite a long time. “Oh my god! What are you doing here?” said Alex while being pushed inside the cell. The creature immediately locked it and went flying away. “Captured, of course. I was having a nap after I finished swimming in the river, but these bees came with me with an arrow. I couldn’t help but to run and still ended up as a prisoner. Oh well, it’s not like I would be the one getting eaten at first.” She said jokingly, Alex couldn’t help but smiled. In this misfortune came a blessing – he met his friend again.
Darline pointed the other cells and Alex was shocked that his other classmates are here too. “Everyone’s here except you. But, then here you are! Attendance’s good guys! All are present!” she shouted. The guard bee let out a hiss, making Darline to shut her mouth, where she immediately followed. His classmates greeted him from the other cells. Still shocked Alex asked Darline, “How long have you been here?” “about a week now, but Kent is the first one to arrive here. She’s slow so I’m not really that surprise, maybe she was immediately captured after waking up. Hahahaha!” Darline joked. Alex couldn’t help but to laugh, too. Why do his friends still manage to laugh while being in a dangerous situation? We’re talking about becoming the next meal here! He thought. But for a moment, he never thought of becoming one, for he knows that they will surely escape this sweet prison, together.
Darline and Alex talked like they have never seen each other for decades. Darline said that she also thought that the poison gas was the end of them. But it wasn’t, she woke up in a wet ground and roam around like what Alex did and eventually ended up in the same place, still. “So, what are your plans to get out from this cell? “Alex asked Darline, trying to whisper so the stationed guard couldn’t hear them. “Don’t worry, we do have one. check this out.” Darline crawled into the back side of the cell, away from the golden light from the outside. Darline grabbed a piece of a hardened nectar that is in between them and their other classmate’s cell and successfully removed it, opening a passage between them and the others. “How did you do it?” Alex asked. “Nectars are food, dude!” We won’t survive if we don’t have something to eat in here. This place is like the gingerbread house in a famous fairytale but with one recipe only. It’s sad but it doesn’t matter wouldn’t it?” she answered happily. “The cell here is nothing but a hardened food, one could get away easily if they just eat the shit out of it.” Darline added. “But how did you eat it? It’s very hard, there’s no way you could easily munch through it!” Alex asked again. “We lick it until it becomes soft and easy to break, of course. Just like a sweet lollipop. Christian’s been here for a long time, together with Gloyd, they made the best team in licking.” Darline laughed hard. She put her hands on her stomach, trying to forcefully stop herself from extreme joy. Alex laughed, too. “Okay so what’s the plan?” Darline stopped giggling and guided Alex to walk inside their other classmate’s cell. They hugged each other and shared their own stories of how they got there. Well, most of them were captured after taking a nap and some are just too slow to run and captured immediately after waking up. “so good to see you, Alex.” A familiar voice said. Kent walked towards him. Although Kent is known for being snob in their past world, he couldn’t deny the fact that she’s extremely caring to her classmates, especially when she’s tasked to become as a mayor. It may be a façade to others but Alex did not bother. Alex immediately hugged Kent and Kent asked them to gather far from the cell’s entrance. So much for being a mayor. Still being one in supposedly other world. Alex couldn’t help but to be amazed.
Suddenly, the flow of the wind changed as Kent, together with their other classmates laid out the plan in escaping the hive. Hours of discussions and suggestions, but they eventually made a plan with the highest percentage rate of escaping. Then, Alex realized, that together, they will escape this hive.
Kent, together with the class crowded themselves in the dark part of the cell, making themselves unseen and unheard by the vicious winged predators, guarding them to death. Thanks to the hive’s enormous area, cells that they have been staying have areas that can be a blind spot to the creatures. Standing at the front of the class, the mayor decided to start. “Questions of how we got here are not to be mentioned, for we got here without any clues but the poisoning inside our own classroom. Focusing on the escape, that’s what we should do.” Kent continued to lay out the plan one by one. The discussion went well with the class’ knowledge about the bees and how much they have observed as they’ve been here for quite a time. “Sleep. That’s what we should first consider.” Jessie pointed. “The bees sleep 5-8 hours a day and, with more rest at night since darkness prevents their excursions for pollen and nectar. Jessie added. “However—” Cindy stood up. “With these creatures’ acquisit
Splatting sounds resounded as they walk past to the creatures’ lifeless bodies. They could not believe that they can survive a swarming attack from their own captivators. But what’s more shocking was their classmate’s sudden transformation to a spiky monster that is capable of killing a once-considered dangerous flying predator. Their eyes continue to set on their classmate’s spiky body. “You’re killing me with those gazes, hahaha.” Jay joked. “H—How?” stuttered Jessie. “I’ll explain later, after we get out from this place. We don’t have much time; our classmates’ lives are at stake. Not too long from this, another bunch of bees will know of their comrades’ death and will surely notify the queen. If that happens, we’re dead meats. Confused but convinced from Jay’s reasoning, they proceeded to the plan immediately. The continue to ran fast inside the hive, making the lights flicker a
CHAPTER SIXDecapitated on her sight, the queen became remorseful, her beautiful facial features left her face, showing nothing but extreme rage. She clenched her fist and ordered all the guards in her throne to attack simultaneously. “Let’s go!” Kent commanded, sounding like a captain in a war. Like assassins in broad daylight, the escape team moved swiftly as they dodged the arrows. A series of attacks came from the massive creatures but it seemed like they can’t hit anyone but the floor. The bees flew, making advantage of their wings. The escape team became worried. they can’t go against flying enemies. Then Jessie ran, not showing his classmates that they’re in a disadvantage and threw his weapon into the air and successfully pierced one of the bees. “I guess javelin throw is a sport to me.” Jessie smiled. Jay smiled, too, throwing Jessie another piece of his spike. “Thanks.” Jessie
Yellow predators turned lifeless and fell into their own golden graveyard. The sighs of the tired and wounded humans are the only music inside the hive. Lying onto the cold floor and some are aiding the other. Awoke and elated of the victorious battle between the supreme leader of the hive, they decided to rest. “Is everyone awake?” Kent asked her classmates. Their heavy bodies weighed them down, but they managed to nod. “Great. Guys, because of all our efforts, we emerged victorious. We may still have some problems like how we get out from this maze-like hive but I know we will, soon.” Kent’s voice assured her team. “Jay, I didn’t know you can grow spikes from the front of your body, too. I thought you could only grow it from the back.” Confused. “I could, but I don’t, since it’s a hassle whenever I walk.” Jay replied. Kent nodded and stared intensively at Jay. She remembered the promise that Jay said about his
CHAPTER EIGHT“Only a scratch?!” he shouted, after trying to slice the man with a turtle mask. Noel had always been proud of his ability to deal piercing slices. Thanks to his long, sharp claws, he had always been good in close combat. But this thing, my claws are useless with it. It seemed impenetrable. Giving so much thought to his enemy in front of him, a whooshing sound stopped Noel’s thoughts and made him take a leap backwards.“Slow, but intensively powerful. The marshland is a scary place.” He realized. If this monster is a humanoid turtle monster, why doesn’t it have its big shell on its back? Instead, a tattered, greyish clothing like a typical homeless man.“Kill…” the monster muttered. What a shivering voice, Noel thought. The monster continued to step slowly towards the humanoid cat.“I can’t deal with him like this.
“There’s a monster that needs to be defeated.” Noel said in a serious tone.“What kind of monster?” asked Alex. He noticed that his classmates are now giving all the attention to the mysterious cat man.“He’s a turtle man.” Replied Noel.Everybody looked at each other. The class might have considered that this monster, is not as ferocious or dangerous as the queen bee. For it is merely a turtle. Curious about the monster, Alex asked again.“Given that you’re asking for help, this monster might be dangerous and strong.”Noel chuckled. “Incredibly.”Alex nodded. He then looked at Kent, waiting for her response. Kent immediately get what Alex intended and asked Noel again. “How strong can this monster be?”“He’s got a bludgeon in hand, if it hits you, your skull will be crushed – into pieces.” He answered. “this monster
Walking along the darkened path of the marshland, eight brave souls decided to put their lives in danger. Surviving in these lands means they are ought to battle with creatures they haven’t seen and known before. But its absolute power can help them thrive in these lands.Gazing at the sky above, his eyes are glowing with adoration. Heavenly objects shone enough light for them to see in the dark. “Three moons…” Alex muttered. Blinking exhibits his disbelief, he sighed… they really are in a new world, he thought. Silent splashing sounds continue to resound as they stamp on the marshland’s humid environment. Life is abundant. Glowing insects are emitting their own light, turning their night into their own day. The sweet breeze kissed their skin as they continue to walk slowly and vigilantly towards the enemy’s territory. Their hands are holding spikes, thanking their classmate Jay, who became a porcupine man, not too long ago.
Darline’s knuckles tightened up, walking towards Kent who was lying on the ground looking at the night sky above her, “your fault!” pointing her finger at Kent.Kent tilted her head slowly, looking at her friend’s raging face. Kent couldn’t utter a word, she knows she should be the one to save Christian, but she didn’t. She’s still powerless. Protecting herself from her classmate’s rage could only spark another conflict. She decided to just agree and listen. That’s the only thing that she could do.“How could you? He’s our friend! Our classmate! You let those creatures eat him!” Darline’s tears continue to fall to her cheeks to the dry ground, making it the only liquid that nourishes the now dry soil.Still processing the dreadful experience, Gloyd, Ivan and Maeje sat down to the dry land, gazing at it, different emotions taken from them, leaving only the sadness behind. Alex moved tow
Stars glow endlessly above the marshland, unaware of the battle below it. As the cold breeze continue to blow in a moderate force, the others who are anxious, extremely worried of their classmate's unconscious body gives heat to the ones in need. Aiding each other, relieving the ones who seek comfort in their tired and exhausted bodies and minds."Belle went back after giving us a head start to escape from the southern border. She said that we should give it up because it was swarming with enemies and she said that the others, who can transform were facing the queens, giving us nothing but only ourselves, to protect the hive from above and below." Jessie said sadly, looking at the wounded friend who sacrificed herself for them.Kent looked at Belle who Maeje have been busy attending her wounds with the plants her found in the marshland. Maeje put the plants one each of the wounds after wiping the blood on Belle's body. She almost tore her clothes to cover Belle's wound
"I've always wondered how it felt like to fly." Christian said. His newly-found power has driven his strength to multiply, giving him the ability to be able to fight the weary butterfly queen with only his own."This suck." Said the weary queen, yawning. Putting her tiny hands in front of her mouth.Everyone looked at Christian who transformed without them knowing for their attention were occupied by the seemingly endless battle.Gloyd looked at the rampaging termites inside the eastern border who Alex kept occupied, protecting the hive from them. "Kent, the screech happened when the queen of the termites died. Can Christian do something about this?" said Gloyd who's worry about Alex, catching his breath. "Please do something about Christian, I'll help Alex." Gloyd said, after noticing Alex on his knees. He flew in an instant, below, tearing the termite's skin who was about to land a strike on Alex as its mouth opened. Kent nodded and flew nearer to where
The battle continues to rage on. Not one, but on all of the borders who thought could defend them from the attacks. Noel continues to defend the northern border from the vicious ant queen while the others continue to fight the weary butterfly queen on the East and the others a mixture of monsters coming from the three queens has led the West and the South troops to defend the hive with their lives.Lying on the wet land of the marshland, the corpse of the fallen queen of the termites had finally reached its peak in life. Kent and Gloyd moved towards the queen's dead body and expected to see what they found, "Where should we give this one? We don't have a choice but to choose someone already to put a huge impact in this battle." Gloyd said as he grabbed the white-colored syringe from the corpse's body. "I know who." Kent said. With her remaining strength, she flew swiftly, together with Gloyd to someone who might be useful to put this power into its greatest potential.
Noel crushed the enemies who stood there, giving a way for the three queens to pass in an instant. His new appearance shook everyone who saw it. Unlike his humanoid figure covered with a dark veil, he has now transformed into a giant black panther – more powerful and more agile than they have ever seen before. His feline-like eyes tantalize with devilish aura as both dark and white colors mixes, corrupts those who seek to destroy him. His razor-sharp claws can tear the enemy flesh into pieces, not minding the sturdiness of its target, treating all of them the same."I see that you needed help." Noel said in an arrogant but reassuring tone. His appearance in the battlefield can greatly increase the human's power. Especially that they're now on the brink of defeat.Like death itself, collating the enemies on sight, Noel's new fearsome power has surpassed all the odds as he put end on almost every enemy in the north. However, that didn't continue when the queen ant
Gloyd's shriek echoed around the hive, to warn everyone that the army has marched their way towards the bee hive that they despised the most – putting end to it after decades of hatred.Matt's group was on the north side of the hive, witnessing first, the inevitable march of danger.Kent gazed at the approaching enemies appraising the situation, "The ants were the only ones who are coming towards us." Kent said.Alex, stood in front of the wall, convinced himself that they should survive this battle no matter what. "Let's wait for them to come near." Alex said. The enemies are near now and Kent immediately ordered to rain poisonous arrows towards the enemies. "Everyone, fire!" she cried. Countless numbers of arrows were fired towards the marching ants, poisoning them as they pierce their way in the gigantic ant's skin. Hundreds of ants died in an instant as the poison continue to spread inside their bodies, refraining their ability to move and breat
Gathering around the golden-colored hall, the beautiful guardian of the marshes continues to speak after hearing Alex's opinion on the matter of the hatred of the other creatures, living in the marshland. "Alex was right. When the queen bee capitalized the land with her barbaric acts, the other stapus were forced to leave and evacuate the lands that were originally theirs, making the queen bee's hive the only kingdom in the South. Although their methods of nurturing the lands were surprisingly good, their selfishness was a different matter." Rabi continued. Alex looked at Kent and she seemed doing well. Alex did not just say it because it would make Kent feel better, but he said it for everyone to know that even if they didn't know that the queen was part of something big, they still have taken the correct measure, to survive. Alex spoke slowly, "Can we talk about this to them? A preside a treaty?" Rabi sighed, "That is the best turning point of this
Reaching the ground with its bare hands, the earth came to his command, giving him the ability to manipulate it as it continues to take different forms. The convenience of this had given everyone the opportunity to build their own gardens. Plating crops in one of the strategies to put sustenance on their lives. Alex looked at everyone who were busy cutting the trees to make planks so they can reinforce the soil that is destined to be used for planting. The usual vast turquoise sky continued to give them the moderate temperature that is good for working outside. With the marsh's cold climate, there is no reason for them to slouch because of the heat.Lynne approached Kent, slowly. "Kent, I need to ask you something." Lynne said.Kent immediately put her attention to the request of her friends, "Yes, of course.""Can I be the one to be in-charge of this garden? Gardening is one of my fortes and I really love to be part of something big. It will give
Their grins were all over the hive as they wear the newly made shirts, pants and even dresses. All colored in white, they all look members of a certain cult in some of the movies. Belle, who just acquired the spider monster's power was very happy helping her fellow classmates.Jessie walked slowly approached Belle, busy making blankets for everyone. "Thank you, Belle for the rugs. Now I will never let the kitchen run mess." Belle smiled, "No, thank you instead, for giving me this opportunity to help. Now I can finally see myself contribute in this new existence." They both hugged each other and went back to their tasks.Alex looked at Belle and was satisfied with everyone's decision. They can never find someone whose skills are more suitable than Belle's, therefore, she was indeed the best option."Alex!" shouted Belle, when she noticed him looking at her in the hall. Alex smiled, and walk closer to Belle, "You're really having fun, about this. Don't you feel we
The spider shrieked. It rose one of his legs, preparing for an attack. Alex swam immediately to the other side. "Call someone to help! Now!" Alex cried, running away from the other side so that the others may escape and call for help."What about you?" Ivan shouted, nervous of Alex's situation."Don't mind me, I can buy time." Alex said, ensuring everyone that he would be safe until they get here. But he only though of that. there's no guarantee that he would still be alive because this monster is definitely agile and big, with its eight legs it can outrun him for seconds. "Run! Now!" He cried. He looked at the monster who was still on the other side of the river, hesitant to cross it.I hope it just stays there. Alex hoped. Suddenly the enormous spider monster jumped towards the other side and went directly to Alex who came running immediately after witnessing it.Alex ran fast and saw the syringe just beside his clothes. He thought of using it but witho
