Chapter 7

JENNY'S POV*

"It's me," a guy said in a bold voice from outside. His voice didn't sound so Violent, so I opened the door to see who it was. Then, I met Alex again gorgeously dressed in a black suit.

"Oh, you? " I said, looking at him.

"Yeah... " he replied, watching me like he wanted to say something.

"O...k," waiting to listen to what he had to say.

"I...just want to go for a stroll and... I came to ask if you would... go with me" he demanded and smiled.

I was speechless in the first place, I was going to say something before...he continued...

"I guess... You could be lonely so, I thought we should go together". I saw in his eyes that he was trying hard to convince me but he backed it up with smiles.

"Uhh.. ok" I accepted without being able to insist. He smiles and said," alright" and then we both head out. I don't know anywhere in that city so...I humbly followed Alex to wherever he would want to go. I was walking behind Alex down the streets and everyone was giving us some weird look.

I can't say he didn't have the courage to talk to me in the first place but he just let me toss him at the front like he was my way-finder.

I would like that but unfortunately, the passers-by were giving us some kind of look like..we were something else. We even passed by a boutique store owned by an old man and I couldn't believe what he called us. We already passed his stores before he could stretch his neck, showcased his face, and yell at us. "Check these out... it's perfect for couples! Alex turned back and smiled. "It's not what you think sir", he replied the man after seeing how confused my eyes were. He then turned to me and smiled. I smiled back like...it was something important. We turned back together, now walking on the same lane before he brought something up.

"Uhm... How did you meet Seb" he asked as he turned to enter a large building.

"he finally asked," I thought to myself and replied..."we are just friends" as I followed him in. A waitress welcomed us at the door. The environment was dark with light lightning. The restaurant was busy and there were few rooms to move around. The first sight in the restaurant was a bar. The shelves are full of cups, wines, and some containers with condiments. The bar, tables, and chairs were made of wood. We met different people sitting on different tables of different sizes before I saw Alex heading toward the table for two people. I followed him and we both sat down. I was still looking at the crowdy restaurant when Alex called on the waiter. I didn't listen to their conversation as I was partially taken away by the crowd. People were eating and laughing at the same time, they were very happy. Before I get back to Alex, the table was set with Wine, fried rice, and shrimp.

"my bad... What would you like? He asked.

"oh, I'm good with these" I nodded at the table.

"oh ok uh.. Double the order, please... He raved his voice out loud enough for the waiter to hear. Then she did.

I started with the fried rice and I could barely control myself because I was so hungry. Alex allowed me to eat till he thinks I was satisfied before he raised another question. I knew he thinks something was weird about me.

"So.. How did you get to meet Sebastian by the way? I thought you were Jenny Alfred in the first place. He gazed at me beaming.

"Oh, who is Jenny Alfred?.. I threw back smirking.

"She is an author who Seb always tells me about. He loved her books and he really meant to meet her one day.

"Uh..You friends live together at the same home that's nice" I continued nattily, not wanting to run out of words. He served the wine in two glass cups, showcased one upward, and sipped it before he brought up the story.

"yeah..I would call Seb my brother if he wants because he is more than a friend to me. Don't be surprised if I tell you that we grew up in the streets together. I didn't know what my real parents resemble. The ones who adopted me tossed me out after the head of that family died. I wouldn't survive if I didn't play some little gambling games on the streets. Well, I became very good at it. Sebastian loved gambling too because he always says it's interesting. We made a better team and earned a lot of money together all day long. There are weird things about Seb but also, our lives are identical in some ways. He never loses to anyone in the games. Each time I get curious about him, I always forget to ask him questions. When we started sleeping on one floor and doing everything together, I stopped getting inquisitive because I think Alas our lives are just the same.

Thankfully, Sebastian changed our lives a few months ago and I still couldn't believe it." He concluded as he sips his wine again.

"Oh really... How..? I asked. Most part of the story was kind of tragic and I wouldn't want to miss the interesting part.

He scratched his head and looked at the ceiling and sips his wine. It's like he was seeing that blessed day again. He continued...

" I could stress my words, the tones that I speak but For really, everything happened very fast that day. The one and only son of the king of viles city got stuck on the viles' express road where International transporters race on.

We all think that day was his end because no one dared to go close, let alone attempted to save him.

Surprisingly, everyone didn't believe their eyes, how Sebastian rushed there and pushed him away to land on a safe zone but then he was too late and got hit by the nearest car. He tumbled on the floor multiple times while I surged toward my dead friend. I wouldn't be able to hold the trauma if he had died for of course he was my only friend.

The King was very grateful so he called for a feast. After that, He asked Seb to make wishes even before he knew Seb was homeless. from then...Sebastian changed our lives" he inferred and smiles.

" Wow! That was great! I clamored before I saw him change his mood sincerely in a swift way.

"Um.. Aby, I'm glad you're not Jenny Alfred. Am not so bad as a guy if I said I like you... right?

He asked looking sincerely into my perplexed eyes.

This question caused my heart to race and breath heavily.

"damn! how do I answer this one Sebastian!

I yelled in my mind.
