Antonio's POV

As Giulia wrapped her arms around my neck I shuddered. I drew her closer and let our lips dance in harmony.

We kissed for a while, and I went ahead to bite her lower lip and she moaned.

The reason for all this was to prove to Vincenzo that I could treat my companion right, and nothing more but a strange feeling was creeping in.

It was just a day of being nice, and I was already feeling attached.

‘It has always been there, you just decided to hide it.’ My mind suggested and I shoved it away.

I led her gently to my bed and made her lay on it then I placed both hands on the bed so she was in-between.

While we kissed, I gently undressed her and let my hands move freely all over her body, and she let out stifled moans.

I disengaged from the kiss and began to trail kisses from her neck down to her chest while I made delicate moves with my hands.

I soon got to her breasts and I fondled them. I could feel her heart beating fast and she struggled to suppress the moans.

I finally

Vincenzo's POV“Good morning,” Giulia said as I sat opposite her and I answered.I had walked into the dining room to find Giulia and Antonio already seated for breakfast. They weren't chatting but she seemed relaxed around him, unlike when I first arrived in Italy, and it pained me to see that it was so.I drew a seat and sat opposite Giulia.“Good morning,” Antonio said with a warm and not-too-pleasant smile that signified a hidden victory.I knew exactly what that smile signified; it meant that he had gotten Giulia before me.It was now I understood why he didn't say a word to me when he saw me with Giulia earlier today; he felt that he had won her and nothing could be done about it.He'd normally almost kill me after he found me talking to her, but he just walked away after she left, and we still haven't had the little chat.We were having breakfast peacefully when Sophia walked in and I frowned. What in the world was she doing here? I thought my brother was done with her.“So thi

Antonio's POVI watched how Giulia looked at the far end of the warehouse continuously, she seemed uncomfortable and scared.“Let's go,” I said as I stood up and she sighed in relief. She stood up after me and walked towards the exit hurriedly. Lorenzo and I followed from behind.“She looks like she's running away from something, or should I say someone,” Lorenzo said just exactly what I had in mind.“I can see that,” I said. “I wonder who it is that she's running from.”“She put up the same act at one of the casinos the last time we went there,” Lorenzo had his usual blank expression.“She'd better not be doing anything dangerous behind my back,” I muttered angrily.“I'll be on the lookout,” Lorenzo said as we got to the car.“Good.”Giulia was already in the car waiting. “You left me behind,” I said as I joined her in the car and then signaled the driver to start the car. “I'm sorry; I just wanted to get here as quickly as possible,” she said while avoiding my eyes.“Why is that?”

Giulia's POVAs I walked to Antonio's study, I couldn't help but ponder why he called me.I hadn't been in his study for a very long time. He neither allowed me to go to the casino nor did he ask me to go with him to the warehouse since the last time.As I entered the room, my heart began to race; the space was filled with tension.Lorenzo, Vincenzo, and several other familiar faces who sat around the huge table in the center of the room turned to me.I drew out a chair at the far end of the table and sat down.Lorenzo's eyes darted toward me, his expression guarded. I could sense unease beneath his composure."So, everyone's here now.” Antonio, who sat at the head seat with his elbow resting on the table, said. His gaze commanded attention. Was everyone here? I had looked around for Sophia but I couldn't find her; maybe she was yet to arrive.Antonio began, his voice low and menacing. "My empire is being dismantled, piece by piece. Someone is leaking information to my rivals."The m

Antonio's POV I paced my study, my mind racing. Sophia's betrayal was all I could think of. How could she? How did she even think of it? "Lorenzo, get in here," I called out, my voice echoing off the walls. Lorenzo entered, his expression cautious. "Sir?" "I need you to find out who's feeding Sophia information," I growled. "I want names as soon as possible." Lorenzo nodded, his eyes darting toward Giulia, who stood by the window. "Yes, sir." Lorenzo walked out and Vincenzo came in almost immediately. "Giulia, what do you know?" I demanded, my gaze locking onto hers. Her eyes widened. "Nothing, Antonio. I swear." I studied her, searching for deception but her expression seemed genuine. Suddenly, a wave of fatigue washed over me and my legs trembled. No, not now. I clenched my jaw, fighting the familiar symptoms. Fibromyalgia which had given me a chance to live a normal life for some time now was lurking back in. "Antonio, are you okay?" Giulia and my brother asked in uni

Giulia's POVI walked to Antonio's study with the files he asked me to keep earlier lost in thought. The current situation of the empire was just so unexpected and unpleasant. Who'd think that this would ever happen? What also bothered me was how Don Antonio allowed Sophia to go after all she did.Maybe he had something special in mind for her, who knows? That dude is dangerous!Suddenly, Lorenzo appeared beside me."Giulia, can I have a word?" he asked, his tone low.“Okay,” I answered a bit surprised.Lorenzo wasn't the one to talk to me. The only time he spoke to me was when Don Antonio asked him to assign me to a task.We stepped into an empty hallway."I'm listening, Lorenzo," I said."You've been noticing things, haven't you?" His eyes locked onto mine.I hesitated. "What do you mean?""Antonio trusts you, but be careful. Not everyone shares his faith." His words sent a shiver down my spine."I still don't understand what you mean by this statement.”Lorenzo's gaze drifted aro

Giulia's POVI navigated the dimly lit warehouse, maneuvering through shady figures negotiating tirelessly over illicit goods.Don Antonio had described where I would find Victor, and I looked around for it."Giulia!" A huge black guy behind a marble counter called out to me.“Name?” I asked as I approached him.“Victor, Why?” he answered with raised brows.“I just wanted to be sure,” I answered, handing over the envelope."Package from Antonio."Victor's eyes scanned the contents before nodding. "Good work. Tell Antonio, 'Eagle's Wings' are secured."I nodded, allowing the cryptic message to sink in.As I turned to leave, my gaze swept across the warehouse. That was when I saw him – Lorenzo, standing near a pillar, conversing with someone. My curiosity sparked and I edged closer. The person beside Lorenzo wore a hoodie, face hidden but a flash of red lipstick caught my attention.Sophia?I froze, unsure.Lorenzo's companion sensed my gaze and swiftly pulled the hoodie tighter, conceal

"Someone's leaking information."“Exactly! And we still haven't figured out who it is.” Rage was building up inside of me.Vincenzo nodded, his expression thoughtful.Giulia's gaze met mine, concern flickering.Mario, my head of security, spoke. "Sir, I've reviewed the protocols. Our systems are secure."Franco, my financial advisor, added, "Transactions are clean."Roberto, a seasoned enforcer, grunted. "My guys are loyal."Lorenzo took notes, his expression intent."Who could be betraying us?" I demanded.Alessandro, my private detective voice dropped. Giulia's POV“Marco De Luca is here,” the bodyguard who hurriedly walked in said.I suddenly found it difficult to breathe. This was completely insane. What was he doing here?I felt the blood drain from my face as Marco de Luca walked in, his eyes blazing with anger. He had his hands crossed behind his back and bodyguards surrounding him."What's going on here?" Marco demanded, his voice echoing through the room.Leonardo's smile faltered, but he quickly regained composure. "Just discussing a mutually beneficial arrangement, Marco."Marco's gaze locked onto me, and I shrank under his intense stare. How did he know about Leonardo's proposal? How did words spread so fast?"You think you can take her from me?" Marco spat, his voice dripping with venom. "She's mine."I turned to Antonio who watched Marco with intense gaze. He seemed unbothered by whatever he said; he didn't spare me a glance.“What makes you think she is yours?” Leonardo asked.“She was sent here on a mission,” he paused

Giulia's POV"You are quite the sleepy head," Lucien said as I took my head off his shoulder.I yawned as I rubbed my eyes with the back of my palm."Are we there yet?" I asked, looking out the window."We'll be there in thirty minutes, ma'am," the driver answered. The plane had landed in Rome and from there we took a rental car which was headed for Viterbo.I had never been there but I heard it was a great place to start a life; the crime rates were lesser here compared to Sicily."I'm so hungry," I said and yawned again.Lucien looked at me, disgusted. Why the heck was he even here with me?I had the address of the place which Vincenzo had sent to me once so we alighted the plane. I could find my way and put things in order without his help."Once we are settled in, we'll find a restaurant to get food," he said when he noticed my disdain. We?The word sounded so cringe coming from him.I didn't care how good looking he was, I just wanted him to be off my neck as soon as possible. On

Antonio's POVI sipped on a cup of coffee as I flipped through the files on my desk.I had my eyes on the files but my mind wasn't there. It kept drifting away. For every line I read, Giulia's name kept appearing.I could have said something to her last night before I walked away. I could have told her how I really felt about her because it seemed to me that she was willing to listen to all I had to say.And even if I couldn't say anything to her, I could have waited to listen to what she had to say.Although I felt betrayed that she chose Vincenzo over me, I also felt a pang of guilt that clung to my chest.I had remained indoors as they left for the airport so that I wouldn't see them.If I did, I would have died of chronic heart attack from seeing the girl I had grown to love leaving with my brother.I thought Giulia had felt things for me too, although we never spoke about our feelings due to the numerous events. Maybe it wasn't my fault that she left me or maybe it was.Yet, a pa

Giulia's POV“I'm not coming with you.”Alessandra's arm dropped from mine in shock. “Why? What's wrong?”“Is it Antonio?” Vincenzo asked. “Are you now bailing on me for him?”Vincenzo had become angry. He must be thinking that I had finally changed my mind to be with Antonio.I shook my head. “No, not at all; it's not Antonio.”“Then what is it?” He asked, it was obvious he was trying to contain his anger.“I want you to be happy,” I said.“What do you mean?” He asked.“I don't want to be with you, neither do I want to be with Antonio… I want to live an extremely normal life.”“Are you being serious right now?” He asked.Alessandra could only watch in awe. I suppose she didn't know what to say.“Yes, I am.”“Why are you saying this now?” Vincenzo asked, his eyes boring into mine.“If I stayed back, you would think I was staying for Antonio and if I didn't come, you would never know how much Alessandra cared about you.”“What are you doing?” Alessandra was surprised.Vincenzo turned t

Giulia's POV I sighed as I put the dishes away, I had lunch in my room as I had expected. My palms were sweaty. I hadn't seen Vincenzo nor Antonio since I left the study and I was glad we didn't have lunch together. Never have i felt this much tension before. I didn't know if I did the right thing by choosing Vincenzo. I may not like him as much as I liked Antonio but I needed a life of peace and quiet, there's been too much chaos in my life these past years. I wanted to live a normal life, a life free from crimes and only Vincenzo could give me that. Soon, there was a knock on the door. I couldn't help but think that it could either be Antonio or Vincenzo. I wanted to be alone, and seeing them wasn't going to help the chaos in my head. Especially Antonio. I was so rude to him earlier, something even the dead could not do except they wanted to die again. I went to the door to open it and I saw Alessandra. I didn't notice that I had been holding my breath until I exhaled. “Oh

She had looked Antonio in the eyes as she spoke so how did she mention my name?I turned to Antonio who stood there expressionless. It looked like he had seen this coming.I was utterly speechless. She walked closer to me and smiled. "I'm choosing to be a part of your world of strategy and finesse.""Is that what you really want?" Antonio asked."Yes, it is," she answered. For some reason, I wasn't happy as I ought to when she picked me. It was so obvious she had made her choice out of anger. She was still pissed about what had happened with Antonio.I knew this was going to happen. That was why I had asked him to apologize to her but as expected he had refused.Looking at Antonio's made it worse. He was so hurt and he didn't hide it."If that is what you want, then good luck with that... You should know better," he said and walked back to his desk."I think it's enough with the 'you should know bett

Antonio's POV “How did you know that Giulia was having nightmares?” I asked as Vincenzo walked into my room.I still had my eyes glued to the book I was reading.I was a bit surprised that he had come to see me after the fight Giulia and I had.Or maybe he was here to ridicule me and reassure me that I had no hope of having Giulia for myself.I didn't want to give him room for that so I asked him the question that had bothered me since I entered my room.“Is that what you really want to ask me now?”“Yes,” I answered. “How did you know Giulia was having nightmares?” I asked again.“I cared enough to know,” he answered.“Good for you,” I answered, ignoring the rage that welled up inside.I would have loved to strangle him to death but I remained seated with my eyes still glued to the book.I didn't want to start what wouldn't end well. And if I should kill my brother, it shouldn't be over a woman who sees me as a beast.“Why are you here?” I raised my head to look at him for the first

Giulia's POV“You shouldn't use things like this so carelessly,” a familiar voice said from behind, referring to the gun I held.I turned to look at him, and watched as he came to stand beside me. It was my father.“I did not use it carelessly,” I argued.“Oh child, yes you did… you've got blood on your hands,” he said, his eyes focused on my hand.I looked down at my hand and it was soaked in blood, which dripped little by little and I threw the gun to the ground.Lorenzo's body lay lifeless in front of me. “No,” I whispered.“Yes, Giulia, there's blood on your hands,” he took a step closer. “You are a murderer.”“This wasn't my fault,” I cried. “I was made to do it, I didn't want to.”“But you did,” he taunted.“I promise I'm not a murderer,” I cried even louder.I couldn't be blamed out of nowhere for something I was forced to do.“You had a choice,” he continued. His voice had changed and when I looked beside me again, it was Vincenzo; my father was no longer there.“You saw it, h

"Giulia will... she'll do it."A part of me felt like I was making a mistake but I really wanted her to do this.If I was a murderer, then she needed to see what it takes to become one.As much as I wanted to have all the fun torturing and toying with Lorenzo, I had to let her do this one.Giulia looked at me with rage in her eyes. She took one last look at the gun which Roberto held in an extended arm.She then turned to look at me and walked past. I turned to look and saw that she was walking to the door. The guards at the door looked to me for approval to hold her and I responded with a nod. They held her as soon as she got to the door."Let go of me," she screamed as she struggled.Vincenzo stood up to speak but I held up my fingers."You cannot keep-""Shut up Vincenzo, your opinion is not needed."Vincenzo and I held eye contact for a while before he looked away and sat down. His veins were already popping out in anger.I walked to
