Blake

The Wallace dinner was officially a wreck and somehow I couldn't stop feeling bad for ruining it. The food was served to an empty table and no one showed up. Instead the maids were asked to serve them at the comfort of their room. Something funny was going on in the manor and it had everything to do with me, no surprise there. So like everyone I took my food and decided to eat solo in the house, all alone. No music nothing just the sound of my breathing and playing games on my phone hoping it was going to help me relax. Yeah nothing, didn't work I kept wondering when the big bad wolf Gerald Wallace was going to stop by and give me a piece of his mind, probably fire me and ask me to leave. Oh wait no, he couldn't because he loved his daughter so much and she loved me she just didn't know how to show and act about it.

The long awaited Gerald Wallace knock finally came and I left the seat with a heavy heart, but to my surprise when I opened the door it was Gideon. He had a death wis

TessaThat morning I felt gloomy, I did not wake up but rather sleep evaded my eyes. Neither mum nor dad showed up to my door for our usual morning run routines. The previous night's exchange was the only explanation. And that brought me back to the elephant in the room. What was I going to do? What if dad was serious about chasing me out of the manor and to the streets with nothing but a broke husband with no home? It reminded me of that request he made once, he asked me to elope with him and I said no, dad was now threatening to throw both of us out. Eloping by force somehow.I yawned and turned on my bed my arms tucked. All the confidence was expelled from my body leaving a shell of my former self. One look at me and someone could tell the devastation and anger that was crossing through my veins. Part of it was confusing and that feeling of betrayal by my father who for long had both fully stood by me, but he did stand by me sometimes when I needed him the most. That was

BlakeThough without passion that morning I woke up ready to work for my father-in-law maybe one last time. I took a long look at myself in the mirror and what came was the realization that I could do better. I deserved better and so did she. Once again my eyes skimmed through the divorce papers as though there was something they had missed the previous night. There was nothing and it did not feel like one of Gideon's pranks. Anyway I folded it and kept it in the inside pocket of my jacket hoping to run into Tessa in a good mood so that we could discuss getting divorced, what a joke. Some few weeks back I did not think we could be talking of getting divorced and yet there we were. Not on our volition but I didn't matter. Apparently out love was in constant interference from outside, specifically by her parents. When I walked into the kitchen that morning it was cold, the feeling was that of my days back when I was a pauper living in a pigsty."Boss, how long are you planning

When Blake opened the door, two guards were sent in to do the search while and the rest of the family remained by the door. He wasn't scared....okay he was but he was sure they were not going to find anything significant there. He wasn't stupid to leave any traces of evidence he stole from Gerald's room in there. But the longer the search took the more scared he was. What if they had...okay no way. Gerald wouldn't have gone to such lengths just to get me out of the way. "Sir we found something!" A guard said.Or maybe he was wrong about what lengths Gerald was willing to go because behold, an envelope was brought to the mix and everyone, including Tessa who wanted something to legitimize her anger, they moved closer to see what it was and Blake felt his heart drop to his belly, a cold wind brushed in his face and his heartbeat slowed down drastically. BlakeThat slap didn't hurt much more than the fact that she had signed to divorce me did. My world had turned topsy turvy and I honestly didn't know what to do, where to go from there, it was like all my life I had only known Tessa and for real she was the only person I had. Another would have been Anita had I not made a fool out of her with that little act of stupidity. The butler was mad at me and it was not like he would have helped me. In my hands was a situation with no escape route. I needed to think. But how, where or when? As long as I had not put my signature on those papers Tessa and I were still married and that was my plan. Give her time to think it through maybe change her mind on it if that was even possible. You know it was really hard if not impossible for her to think it through with everyone breathing on her neck, to begin with her brother Gabriel. Idiot saw it fun to prank me into thinking he was on my side and I could count on him and you'll know what ha

The Don and his family were welcomed home warmly that evening. And as usual a party was thrown, the workers were free to drink and dance, some sort of a day off. The celebrations also continued in the manor but at the same time they were taking Lilian's suggestion into consideration. Everyone had their own bunch of papers trying to comb through and find a lead to the heir. Don who had gone upstairs for some time came down."Any leads?" He asked standing by the staircase."Nothing, would have been better if we had all hands on deck you know" teased Lilian."I'm sure my absence was not even felt, Carlos I got a job for you. Our friend Wallace needs a favor with a bug that married his daughter and he wants him to be forced to sign something""Sounds easy. You can...""Don't delegate. Do it yourself take the men you need. I've send you the images and the car plates find him" He ordered.Carlos took his bunch and handed to Maria who was keenly going through that of his own together with Li

TessaMoments after that weird but still fun Oscar worth performance I was somehow feeling bad for dumping him. Not that bad to the extent of changing my mind but I just realized that perhaps we were going to miss his humor and the fact that he kept his humor despite what was at hand...okay it got me a little worried. Didn't he care about us that much because my expectations were him looking all sad and beat up. He was quite the opposite. Either way, the signature was done and all that was left was his. His unforgivable crime?Going after my family. You can't pretend to love them apples but not the tree that they fall from. That's just the highest level of hypocrisy if you asked me. If he loved me as much as he wanted me to believe then he was supposed to love my family too. No matter how bad and evil, broken and imbeciles they were because they were not going to change simply because he wanted them to.I was lying on my bed, following my once favorite TV series when Gid

Blake took his time to look at the papers as though he had never seen them. He ought to have given him time to bargain and plead his case. But No, as an insurance policy he decided to hire one of the most... scratch that...the most dangerous mafia gang in the entire country to do his bidding. Yeah, he could tell from the logo he saw on the cars."You don't have to fuckin read through the entire thing, like I said I got a party to go back to" complain Carlos. BlakeIt was another beautiful morning at the Red crescent manor. In my silk robes with a cup of coffee I was standing at the balcony, watching over my family estates, employees moving from one direction to another going on with their duties, their children happily playing in the field waiting for school time. Mum and Lilian had dedicated much of their time to doing that, teaching and donating foodstuffs, rescuing colts from dangerous gangs. It was the good I could do.After messing up the first time when God showered me with blessings I wasn't going to repeat the same mistake. This time I was going to use my influence to make sure that nature wasn't going to raise another Blake. No kid was going to be a pauper and mistreated under my watch and what better way to start doing that than in my own home? Anita and her sister Beatrice helped with the teaching, her younger brother James was there too among the students. My family had become big when her sister and brother moved in. Her moth

Within two weeks, Gerald Wallace had lost the trust of his family, his friends and all his lands he acquired illegally. Beginning with the one in the outskirts of the war tone city, that used to be a children's home that he mercilessly grabbed and sent the kids to the streets. Fate was back to bite him in the ass because one of the kids he threw on the streets was Blake. He reclaimed the land using the manpower he had, a new building was being erected as the war continued. No one dared stand in his way days after he left a trail of bodies when he visited a rival mafia gang that for long had perfected the unholy act of human trafficking. As a result, all the other gangs that were doing illegal businesses were keeping their heads down and others were now even reaching out to be friends. And once again, the red crescent Mafia family was on everyone's radar and the name Blake send shivers down the spines of those who didn't not stand for what he believed. In a matter of days, he had acquir

BlakeTheir eyes almost popped out of their sockets when I got up with the gun at hand. Their guards rushed to the scene but they were just a handful of them. Forming a barrier between me and their bosses. It felt good to taunt them, but I had no intention of killing any of them I just wanted to see the family suffer and not feel safe, feel like everything they had could be taken from them anytime, feel afraid like I used to every time Bailey called out my name or when she slapped the taste out of my mouth."Let's see, you're ten and I have fourteen armed another three dozen just waiting for my call, plus myself and Carlos and Johnson we're seventeen bad asses here right now""What about me?" Anita asked feigning disappointment. She knew how to taunt people, our common goal, to make Gerald pay. She wanted him dead more than I did."You'll sit back and watch me slaughter all these bastards, then I'll bring you the head of the man who had your father killed"Now that was one way to send

A couple of days after Anita's controversial visit peace and cohesion had not been a regular visitor at the Wallace manor. It all started with Gideon and Tessa, that same day over dinner Gideon seemed to be in a foul mood, he avoided conversations and when Tessa became too inquisitive he blew up in anger. Asked for some air, got in his car and drove out of the compound. That was new, but there was something he wasn't telling them and they were yet to find out, too late though and the one carrying that news was a not so welcoming person.Anyway, Gideon left Tessa under a cloud of sadness that no one seemed to have a solution to and perhaps that was because each of them had problems of their own. Bailey had to divide her attention and look out for her family or watch them perish. Gerald had lost his smile and control of the home. He spent most of his time drinking in his office and conversing with the butler, Tessa was in her room doing whatever it was she was doing and Gabriel. He was

Anita was seated in the most hostile of environments she had ever been. All the Wallace's including the new one who was glued to Gabriel like a monkey on a tree were glaring through her and ironically it was only Gerald who seemed to want her there, he was the calm and relaxed, patient as Anita took her time to taunt them with her silence and tension. The problem is she didn't care much about Gerald's show of concern and mercy. I was all fake, had she known why he was too nice to offer her a job in the first place she wouldn't have taken it. He was a murderer and thank God he had no idea what was coming. Those couple of minutes she sat there, dozens of ways she could have strangled him to death had crossed her mind. It was surely taking every ounce of self-control for her not to jump on him and try it."Are you going to keep us waiting forever. Unlike you we have some things to do" Tessa was not a fan of waiting."Okay, I'll go straight to the point. Blake sends his rega

At eight in the evening, everyone in the Red crescent manor was gathered at the ceremonial grounds. Circular in shape with seats made of mortar almost like an ancient Roman arena, there was a podium decorate with high end seats where the elders and the family priest sat. No one from the family had arrived yet and there was confusion everywhere with rumors circulating among the employees."I think we're being sent packing, I don't even know where to start from my whole life is in this beautiful place" one said sounding disturbed."Who said we're being send packing?" Asked another."It's just a rumor. We don't have proof" argued someone from behind, they were all whispering as though it was a crime to talk. But generally, it was all quiet and the whole place was lit up with traditional lamps."Something else we don't have is a leader and we're going to be scattered all over"The banter would have continued were it not for the sight of the r

One Week laterIt's said that, you never know when your time will come, we all hope he'll delay. So, what are you doing with the little time you have left on this vast ticking time bomb called earth? Have you Imagined how you want your Eulogy to look like? Most of us haven't. It was Saturday afternoon, a gloomy day for real even the weather could attest, the sun was too afraid to come out, hidden behind the dark clouds and the rain was now ruling, beating the ground into a wet submission, all the family members were dressed in black with the servants holding umbrellas for them leaning on each other's shoulders their eyes bloodshot from prolonged crying. After an all-inclusive funeral service with the few invited guests and the world at large it was the turn of close family Members to say goodbye to one of their own, one last walk to the grave for a fabric that had woven them together, a pillar that had

The whole family swarmed in on Blake as they carefully forced him out of the venue without causing much alarm, the crowd was already alarmed but those who knew Wallace and his family so we were both surprised. What was a Wallace party without some drama?"I just want to talk to Tessa then we can see if this joke of a party goes on""You don't get to insult me" Growled Gideon, he even wanted to punch him lights out but Gabriel held his hand. No one was really in the mood for violence that day for Christ sake they were dressed to party and have fun, dance, drink and those who could even have sex!"Calm down Gideon" Bailey said rather politely, "what do you want?""To talk to Tessa nothing else""Okay go ahead, but not here and we're not leaving her sight for as much as I care you might have goons out there planning to take her" that was the condition and it was good for him to have an audience so that they could all hear him convince her to be his again.Funny

BlakeAfter a sleepless night of tossing on my bed, wishing morning would come and the doctor would do the checkup, allow me to go home and see the love of my life...it finally came and the energy in the air was stupendous, the birds singing and the whistling of the wind, my own heartbeat and some beeping of machines all connected to make a perfect rhythm.
