OAK
I placed a hand on my thigh as I struggled to rein in my emotions. But all I could think of was my mate, Rose, being in that damn cell all by herself. I could only hope that she wasn’t tortured so badly. I needed her to be fine and without any form of fear of clouding her senses. But that seemed like an unachievable wish at this moment. Rubbing my short brown hair, I looked at Raven, who was seated at the opposite side of me, pressing his tablet without a care in the world. How could he be so chill when everything was falling apart like this? I just didn’t understand it! His eyes suddenly connected to mine as though he knew I was looking at him, and I looked elsewhere at once. "Some people keep siding with murderers," I grumbled under my breath as I tapped the handle of my chair. "It would have been perfect if we praised Alpha Kael’s killer for sniffing his life off after how he treats women in his fucking life." "Hey!" I looked up in shock as Raven suddenly grabbed a hold of the collar of my T-shirt, pulling me up. "What the hell are you doing, bro?" "Shut the fuck up, Oak!" He snapped at once. I rolled my eyes lightly as I looked at him. "Why should I? Leave my shirt right now, Raven!" "I won’t do that until you take back all that nonsense you spewed about our father. Did you think that I wouldn’t hear it? Answer me!" With a grunt, I shoved Raven back, watching as his hair bounced around his chiseled face. It annoyed me even more. I calmly straightened my collar as I glared at him. Raven growled as he grabbed my collar once more, his eyes as cold as ice. "You think because we are twins, you can easily sprout any nonsense from your mouth about our father, and I would let you go?" He taunted. I smirked. "I honestly don’t give a rat-ass about what you think. All I know is that Alpha Kael deserved everything that came his way, Raven. He may have brought us to this world by his sperm, but I would never accept his tyranny!" "What tyranny? He was just a man with urges. Tell me, what is so wrong about that, that he deserves to die?" I stared at Raven in disbelief. "Did you just say this?" His eyes were wild in rage, and I could see that he was barely thinking straight anymore. "So, what?" "You’re asking me that? Don’t you have a problem that father’s ways were brutal and mean?" I asked slowly. Closing my eyes against the pain, I whispered. "He literally hurt women, Raven." It was at that moment that I sprung my eyes open to look at him. "He must have done the same thing to our mate, and you don’t even care?" Raven rose his left fist to hit me, but I held his hand midway, knocking it to the side. "Hello, Sirs," came a quiet voice behind. I gritted my teeth as Raven turned to look at the person, but I found myself staring at the couch as I struggled to rein in the last control I had. I slowly pulled at my Polo shirt as I tried to control my anger. It was so annoying that it has come to this. I was completely disappointed that my brother was trying to bully our mate for a man who wasn’t worth it. "Did you come here to look at my face? What do you want?" Raven snapped. I could hear the slight way the intruder's breath caught in his throat. It quickened my curiosity, and I turned to look at the guard, Tom, as he moved from one foot to the next with his head bowed. He suddenly looked up as though he were battling with his own emotions. "The priest is here to see you," he said simply. "Then, why did you have to take your sweet time to say it? Get him in already!" Raven snapped in irritation. The guard abruptly left, and I scoffed in response, moving over to sit where I had vacated. I watched as Raven snapped at a maid to bring in his father’s corpse, but I didn’t even look at them. Rose’s release lay in the priest’s words. I could only hope that he would force the right things to favor her. I couldn’t just bear if anything happened to Rose because of my father’s abuse. He got what he deserved, and that was all that mattered. After five minutes, the priest arrived wearing a white outfit as he held on to the white staff. Everything on him was white, including his hair and the rings on his nose and ears. It was so unsettling. "Greetings to the next Alphas of the Blood Moon Pack," he whispered. I nodded once. "Greetings, priest,’ I mumbled simply. He sat down on the black tiled carpet in the middle of Raven and me. I couldn’t believe the way that he seemed so collected despite losing an Alpha. Maybe, like me, he knew that father was a fucking monster and didn’t deserve one ounce of sympathy. "Priest, should I send for the girl that hurt my dad? I mean, I want to see the punishment that is fit for her," Raven mumbled. I turned to him as my eyes flicked with rage, but he had his eyes on the priest. The damn bastard! "No, Sir Raven," the priest mumbled. "What do you mean by no? I need my father’s murderer to be punished and not be free from the curse. Is that too much to ask?" I scoffed. "You can at least allow the damn priest to talk before you try to intimidate him, right?" Raven turned his icy green eyes at me. "Just shut the fuck up, Oak! This is not the time!" "Enough!" We both turned to see the priest, placing some wolf urns on the black cloth he had kept on the floor. The priest slowly shifted his plain white eyes on me, causing me to swallow inwardly. "You both have been talking so much. If you know everything, why did you send for me?" He asked. I shook my head. "I shall remain silent, priest," I said slowly. "Good! Where is your father’s corpse? It’s the only thing that I need to know the truth about his death. You should know that I never do anything unprepared, and I would not punish an innocent soul without proof that she did it,’ he said simply. I smiled lightly. That means I was right. Rose didn’t do anything, and she could be free from all these problems that surrounded her. I couldn’t wait for that to happen. Raven grunted slightly. "It’s here... my father’s corpse," he clarified. I looked up to see two maids carrying the casket. Their faces were ashen with fear, but I couldn’t care less. They slowly placed the casket at the side of the priest and retreated as quickly as they had arrived. I stared at the casket as I hoped my old father was burning in hell wherever he was. It was definitely what he deserved for the cruelty we had all endured from him. "I," the priest suddenly said, pulling my attention back to him. "Priest Gale of the Blood Moon Pack is here to see your death, Alpha Kael Ridgewood!" His eyes snapped shut then, and I waited. I could feel eyes on me, and I looked to see Raven looking at me. He was about to cry. I rolled my eyes and looked off. The sudden love he had for his father was disgusting to see. After everything that man had done, he deserved nothing from us. "Thank you, Goddess Selena," Priest Gale said at once. He pulled his hand back and looked at us calmly. "Your father died because the lady who he molested laid a curse on him." "Molested? Are you sure that you saw that well? I mean, there must be some sort of mistake. We were at home." Raven cried. Priest Gale sighed. "I’m sorry, Sir Raven, but I have said the fact. He really hurt that girl, and she in turn decided to make him pay for it. It is how our great Alpha died... in the arms of a woman." I rose to my feet then. "I would see you to the door." "Does it mean that..." "It means that the curse said he would die in the hands of a woman, and he did so," Priest Gale said as he rose to his feet. "And, you have to find the person who has been molested. She is the only one who can revert the curse." I watched as the things he had brought out vanished into where they had come from, and he signaled to me that he was ready to be escorted back to his place. I easily pulled my t-shirt before I made my way out with him. At the door, he turned to look at me. "Stop your brother from making more mistakes," he mumbled before walking off. How was I going to do that? Raven barely listened to a word I said because we were twins, and he had come out first. I would have to break his head with a hammer to put things into his head. There were no two ways about it. But one thing was sure: I knew the priest meant that someone else had laid the curse, but Rose had been in the wrong place at the wrong time. It was definitely that. 'Goddess, please give me strength,' I whispered inwardly before turning back to the sitting area. Raven was pacing wildly in front of the sofas, and Father’s casket was gone. I shunted my gaze at him as I moved closer to him. "What is up now?" I queried. He turned to me, his eyes red. "You win. I would bring Rose out of the dungeon." "Does that mean you have some sense now?" "It means that I’m going to change the punishment. I realize that... Father may have hurt her, but that didn’t give her the right to take him from me." "You’re an idiot," I spat out. He rose his finger in my face. "I don’t give a fuck what you think. I would do things my way now, Oak. Try to stop me if you can," he snapped.ROSEMy head was spinning so hard, but the guard’s words slipped into my mind like a blanket. The priest was here, so I would be free. I know he would inform them that I didn’t do something wrong. I know he wouldn’t tell a lie. Yes, this time, I would be fine."Do you need some special invitation to get up from there?" Blade snapped.I looked up lightly as I tried to stand, but the rope held me bound. Blake swore as someone in the background informed him that I was still tied to the chair. The next thing I knew was that there were ropes sliding off my body. Then, I was hoisted up harshly. "Please, easy," I managed."Shut up!" Blade snapped at me.I shook lightly, my left foot taking a step back. He didn’t have that and pulled me harshly forward. How my limbs were moving despite the severe pain that I had gone through stunned me breathlessly. I didn’t understand anything."I can’t believe that the twins want her out of the torture room. If I were them, I would torture her till she woul
ROSE'Be calm.'Was that my wolf, Meghan? Did she finally try to talk to me?'Rose, say something,' she said once more.I sniffed as I pulled the maid gown away from me. It’s dull blue color was slightly blinding and annoying to me. 'You finally decided to speak with me,' I mumbled through the mind-link.She purred, and I felt strangely comforted. She was truly here to help me out. 'I know that you felt like I had left you for good,' she whispered. I sniffed in response to her words. 'But that is not true. I could never leave you just like that, Rose. You have been my best friend since I became your wolf, so why would I leave you? I was just weak, and I had to stay away from the pain for a time. Though that thing they did with us really shook me.'I nodded as I cleaned a tear. 'It was horrible, but I feel a bit like myself now. Though I don’t have any appetite to eat.''Even if you wanted to eat, I doubt they would give you something to eat here. No one likes you around here,' she po
OAKHer beautiful, long, dark hair was all I saw when I looked at her beautiful face. It took me a moment to realize that Rose was truly in my room. She was too cute for words, with her legs bent and her hands digging into my clothes."Sir, I’m so sorry. I didn’t know that you were here," she whined.I grunted as I walked back into the bathroom, grabbing a hold of the towel on the rack to dry off my hair. Goddess, why did I have to see her in this state? 'Because she is our mate,' William whined. My wolf would do anything to make me realize this one thing. It didn’t help that I was so hard as I looked at her. I just wanted to hold her in my hands and do naughty things to her. Those thoughts would have to get out of my head because she was still not liked by anyone in the pack, and I didn’t want to play a dangerous game by being close to her. With a sigh, I rubbed the towel over my head as I stepped out, only to see her on her foot again. "I would just leave and come back later," she
RAVENThe wind tussled my hair lightly as I bent over my father’s casket. It hurt so much that a man who was so great and fierce was reduced to this. It didn’t matter if we didn’t get along perfectly, but he was my father, right? I couldn’t ignore that, no matter how much I wanted.'Is that why you’re hurting our mate?' Harry, my wolf whined.I scoffed as I picked up a dark rose, placing it on my father’s casket. If Harry really thought that I would listen to his nonsense because he was my wolf, then he needed a rethink. I was my father’s son, and I would do right by him, and no stupid mate was going to stop that from happening. With a grunt, I looked around the trees, hating them for not breathing life into my father. According to the tradition, he would have to stay in the garden till his burial. But it seemed like pure torture to me. A completely horrific one!"Why does this always happen?" I mumbled.Looking down on the casket, I tried to clean off the dust with my bare hands. "Yo
ROSEI clutched the broom in my hand tightly as Sir Raven’s words hit me hard. His breath fanned against my face, causing my heart to skip a beat. What work did he want me to do for him? I wish I could ask him this, but I had no courage to utter a word. I was just going to stand here like an idiot because I had not been brave enough to walk away when I could. Fuck!If only I had been fast with what Sir Oak had given me, then I wouldn’t be in this situation right now.He suddenly pulled me into the chambers before he snapped the door shut."What are you doing?" I asked in horror. He rolled his eyes at me before moving over to the nearest phone. "You don’t get to ask me questions, maid. You just have to stay right there so I can tell you what to do. That shouldn’t be so difficult for you to obey, right?"Holding the broom tightly, I lowered my head down. "No, sir," I said quickly. He scoffed before tapping something on the phone. After several minutes, he covered the receiver with his
RAVENIt was so nice to see Rose so fidgety. She looked like she was about to cry, and there was nothing that made me more thrilled. Rose deserved everything that came her way. She was just a fucked up bitch that I needed to put in her place."Do I have to repeat myself or something, maid?" I snapped as I knocked my head to the side, causing my hair to bounce in my eyes.Rose glared at me for a second before she lowered her head down on the tray. With the way she walked, I felt she wouldn’t have the courage to come into the hall, but to my surprise she moved. Her gait was slow, causing the dress to inch up with every step that she took. I gulped as I looked away from her in irritation. The damn mate bond was making me see those things. There was nothing special about her body.'Why are you doing this to our mate?' Harry, my wolf grumbled through the mind-link.I tapped the arm of the chair impatiently as I shut his words out from my head. The last thing that I needed was for him to ke
OAKI rubbed my hair as I stepped out of the house as quickly as I could, only to see Raven step into the house. The idiot didn’t see me, but I did, and there was no way I would be going back to that house this night. I just can’t stand Raven right now. With a sigh, I walked over to my bike and pulled it out of the shed. The guard in charge of the place threw the keys at me, and I nodded curtly. "Don’t tell anyone that I’m not in the pack," I ordered. He bowed lightly. "Yes, Sir Oak," came his quick response.Satisfied, I jumped onto the bike and kicked the pedal to life before igniting the engine. Here goes nothing! Ignoring the speed limit, I drove as fast as I could out of the pack and towards the beach pub. My thoughts were scattered as the wind slapped against my face. Maybe this was going to help me forget for a bit. Heaven knows, I badly needed that. The blue brick pub came into view about 26 minutes later, and I breathed a sigh of relief. One of the bouncers waved at me, a smi
ROSE"How dare you talk to my guests that way?" Raven thundered behind me.I swallowed as my hand was suddenly pulled harshly, turning me around, only for my face to tilt sideways. Did he just hit me? I was shoved back, and the laughter from the rest of the crew made my eyes burn, but I struggled not to let the tears fall.My fingers pulled at the flimsy gown I wore, and I gave Raven a last look before fleeing to the door, pulling it open."If you step out of here, then be ready to be punished," his cold voice rang out.Oh, goddess! What have I done to deserve this?My feet pulled to a stop as I looked at him. He looked so dominating with his green eyes flashing like the storm. My body shook on its own accord, and I really wished that the ground would open up and swallow me."Good! Come over here and apologize to Tim!"What?I pleaded with him through my eyes, but he remained unyielding. I was going to apologize to such an animal. Alpha Raven turned away, and I watched him walk back t
ROSE"Guys, please assemble around right now," Miss Taylor pleaded the moment she stepped into the kitchen.I stopped the orange and calmly moved to the front of the shelf, were other maids were also gathered around. I honestly hoped that I wasn’t in trouble again. I slid back even more, swallowing my saliva.Miss Taylor looked stern as always, and her hands were folded behind her back as she observed us diligently. "Are we all here?"Bella ran quickly from the storage room behind the kitchen, apologising for her lateness. Miss Taylor glared at her in irritation, but she didn’t say anything else to her. She instead focused her attention on us, her eyes skimming through our faces."Miss Celine informed me that the family would be having dinner at 8pm. This wouldn’t be a normal dinner because they are receiving an important guest. This guest would end up being a very important family member in the nearest future." She paused, as she made her way to me. "Due to the way we lost our Alpha,
OAK"Sir, I really hope you put this across to Sir Raven. It’s very important that we figure out how to get one of you to ascend the Alpha throne since you both do not what to go the old fashioned way," Elder Caleb said as he adjusted his tie.I grunted simply as I stepped out of the room. I could feel his gaze on me, but I didn’t turn to look at him. Since my talk with Paige, I have been down, and just didn’t wish to talk to anyone or listen to their unnecessary comments. It would only make me more anxious, and I just didn’t want that. Back in the pack house, it was a bit quiet, save for a couple of maids going around. The urge to see Rose was too much. But, I subdued. I was not worth being close to her after hurting her so badly. I should have been a better person to her, but I wasn’t. I hurt the person that I should have cared for. I Hurt the person I should have valued.A shiver rocked through me as I walked towards the dining are to get some of the fruits on it, only to see Ros
OAK*Thirty minutes ago*I stared at nurse Mitch in shock. There should be an error or something, but when I looked at this, I saw nothing but Paige’s face stuck in the ID card. She’s registered here. The fuck?"Paige Star registered in our hospital, and she was...""What did she come to do?" I snapped impatiently. The nurse shook her head in response. "I have no idea. I believe the doctor can clarify things better with you. Though, like I said earlier, this is against protocol. I don’t want to loose my job."I dug my hands in my pocket and slapped some wads of cash on the table. She looked around in shock before looking back at my hand. "Now, you’ve seen the money. Are you willing to tell me all that I need to know about Paige Star?"She quickly took the money and placed it in the first drawer. "I can help you meet the doctor. He was the one who treated her throughout her time here.""Thank you."I took a deep breath as I waited for her to inform him about my presence. I’m sure Paige
CELINEI slid the car into the small space that was left between an ambulance and another blue car at the hospital’s parking lot, only for me to feel the wind of a headache brewing. I sighed as I looked at the overgrown trees in front of me. This hospital was farther than my pack because of what I wished to achieve.Janet had walked out of the house two days ago, looking so miserable, so it was time to make her sex escapades with Raven to bear some fruit, though, I had no idea how I was going to achieve that. But, a fake pregnancy test could be the only thing that could make this work.I stepped out of the car, as I dialled Janet’s number once more, hoping that she would be pick the call this time, but nothing of that sort happened. In frustration, I moved towards the hospital building, only for my eyes to single out Oak and Paige in front of the hospital. They were talking profusely, and I could see the anguish in Oak’s eyes.I gasped as I hid at the back of a white SUV, peering at
OAKIt’s been two days since Paige told me she was carrying my child, and I couldn’t sleep. I couldn’t even go on my pack duties out of stress. To me, everything was turning on its head, and I could not do anything to stop it. It was the worst experience ever, and I just wanted to hit something so hard. How could I be so reckless?Yes, I had cared for her so much, and we had being in an on and off relationship, but it was no excuse. I had always known that I would find my mate, and be happy! This was just awful!I sat up on the bed, and stared at my reflection at the mirror on the wall. I looked like hell. I felt like hell. The brown knitted facial hair made me want to puke. This was horrible. I was the most disgusting soul in the world.'We have a mate, and then, another woman has our baby,' William whined like I didn’t realise it the first time.I rolled out of bed, staring at my room. It was a fucking mess. No-one had come in here, and Raven must be having a time of his life becaus
JANETMy fingers trailed Raven’s chest hair like I had all day. This was so fulfilling, and I loved the way it made me feel. I couldn’t believe that Raven was letting me do all these. The last time, he had been upset about something, then afterwards, he’d called me to come over, and I shouldn’t overthink anything he had said. If that wasn’t the sweetest thing someone had told me, then, I had no idea what else was.I pulled my head slightly up, and I noticed his eyes were closed. So cute... He was my future husband, and I could tell he was used to me because of the way he touched me these days. It was so fierce and hot, and his brows were always knitted in concentration like he wanted to learn every curve of my body. The thought made me smile, and I buried my face once more in his body. Celine’s idea of ow to talk to Raven about Rose came to my mind, and I smiled sneakily at it. But, I would have to test the waters first.Moving up slowly, I leaned on my elbows as I played with Raven’s
OAKI drove my black Range Rover sports car through the windy roady to one of the largest hotel we hard, 'Wolf Burnt Hotel'. It was the exact place that Paige Star was waiting for me. I really shouldn’t be going there, but I can’t help it too.'We should just go back home,' William advised.I sighed. 'Then, she would come over there too. You know how Paige is. She doesn’t take no for an answer, an even though Rose hurt me badly, I just don’t want her to see everything break this way,' I mumbled.William whined in response. 'You’re in this mess because you don’t listen to me. I told you to stop thinking about that bitch till we find our mate, but you didn’t listen to me. Now, everything has gone out of hand and we don’t know what to do to stop things from going downhill.'I said nothing as my heart hammered against my chest. My wolf was right. I oftentimes ignored his words, but it always backfired. I only hoped that Paige wouldn’t request to continue our relationship from where it sto
RAVEN"I need to see you now," I whispered on the phone. It was Janet, and I knew she would come. She liked me a bit too much, and that was normal since I would be the new Alpha soon. It was something that rubbed my ego, but other than that, I seriously thought she had nothing but her body to give. Now, she was giggling like an idiot on the phone. "I really would love to come. In fact, I’m on my way.""Great! I miss your body," I said easily. She giggled again like she was half crazy and it almost made me run mad. I did hate when people did things in excess, but I just needed her to make my mate jealous. Rose needed to see that she couldn’t tell me off without consequences."I’m so happy that you understand me like you do, ba...Raven," she mumbled quickly.I sighed dramatically. "I would be waiting."I disconnected the call at once, irritated beyond words that she used every opportunity to act like we were inseparable. It was so annoying. "Look at what you put me through, Rose. If yo
OAKMy head was reeling as I knocked on Celine’s door just minutes after leaving Raven. Celine was going too far, and I hated it. She was supposed to be the calm one between us, but since she came back, she has completely lost her self control. It was so unlike my sister to be mean to someone for no reason."Celine!" I snapped as I twisted the doorknob, getting into her room. She was seated on the vanity chair, reapplying her lips stick as a maid helped her clean her nails. "We need to talk," I snapped the moment she looked up.Her eyes were like ulcers, and I wondered if she knew what I wanted to talk about. I could tell she was faking it, and that made me more annoyed. I hated it so much when people took me for a fool. "What is the problem?" She asked easily."What game are you playing at, Celine?"Celine flinched like I had just shoved her, and I watched as she snapped her fingers, causing the maid to look at her. She told her to leave, and I didn’t look twice at the girl. This wa
