I WANT TO KILL HER

The warrior Mason felt as if a bucket of cold water was splashed on his body and quickly broke away from Katherine. He moved backwards and stared at her in surprise especially since she was the ugliest girl he had ever seen.

Kathy was completely flustered, she couldn't understand what had just happened to her and why she had allowed this strange warrior to get so close to her.

She knew she was very ugly as everyone always told her that. Even Meela had told her many times that she would never get married and no man would ever desire her because she was the ugliest girl in the world.

Mason stared at his friend Jackson without being able to utter a word. He really didn't know what had come over him. He didn't even act this way around beautiful girls so why would he kiss an ugly girl he met for the first time?

Seeing the disgusting look Mason gave her suddenly made Kathy afraid. She had seen that look in the eyes of so many people and most times it always led to them spitting on her or causing her physical pain.

While she was still standing in fear, wondering what was going to happen to her, Mason moved closer to her and circled his hand around her neck as he tried to choke her to death.

Kathy struggled to breathe and in the process dropped all the flowers on the floor. Mason recalled how she had hurriedly picked them up the first time and angrily stepped on them with his foot.

Kathy tried to speak for him not to do so but because his hand was still choking her, she wasn't able to get any words out. Tears began dropping from her eyes as she felt that this was going to be the end of her life.

"Stop trying to choke her" Jackson said as he tried to pry Mason's hand from Kathy's neck. "Do you want to kill her?"

"Yes, I want to kill her" Mason replied angrily, while refusing to let go of Kathy "This ugly witch had the effrontery to charm me and make me kiss her. I am so disgusted with myself because of her, she doesn't deserve to live."

Mason continued choking Kathy until she became weak and closed her eyes. Just at that moment, he felt a sharp pain in his heart. He felt as though someone extremely important to him was about to die and the loss would be irreplaceable.

He quickly let go of Kathy and placed his hand on his heart which was beating so fast. Kathy fell weakly on the floor and struggled to breathe.

Mason shifted to the side and said, "she's a witch. This maiden is definitely a witch. Just now when I was choking her, do you know how I felt?"

Jackson stared at Mason and began to laught, "come on, she's just an ugly maiden. Think about it, if she were a witch, she would have made her self very beautiful like the ones we have encountered on our way. Also, she wouldn't have let you choke her to the point of almost killing her."

At this point, another of Mason's friend, Damian arrived. He saw Kathy on the floor crying and struggling to breathe. He stared at both Mason and and Jackson and stared at the girl again.

He wasn't the sort of person who felt pity for anyone but he didn't know why, the moment he saw Kathy lying on the floor in pain, his heart felt moved with pity, it was as if he had known her for a long time and someone evil was hurting her.

He quickly went to her side while ignoring Mason who told him to avoid her because she was a witch. Kathy who was now extremely afraid for her life flinched when she felt his hand on her body.

She struggled to speak and said, "please don't hurt me, I'm begging you. I am not a witch, I swear."

"I won't hurt you, I promise." Damian said and helped her up from the ground. As Kathy stood up and her eyes met with Mason, she cowered behind Damian in fear.

Mason kept staring at her while Damian assured her, saying "don't worry, as long as I am here, no harm will come to you."

As Damian spoke, he looked at Mason with angry eyes while Mason folded his arms and wondered if Kathy had also put Damian under a spell.

No matter what anyone said, he would always believe that Kathy was a witch because he knew that he would never kiss a stranger he met for the first time, and an ugly one at that.

Kathy didn't understand what was happening. Damian was being so kind to her which was something she had never experienced before.

Even the queen whom everyone praised for being overly kind had never shown her any form of kindness whatsoever but always turned a blind eye whenever Athena was treating her like an animal.

Damian slowly wiped the tears from Kathy's eyes and asked her, "what is your name and what are you doing here at this time?"

"My name is Kathy" She replied. "I am the waiting maid of princess Athena who is the only child of the king and queen.

Jackson's eyes suddenly lit up the moment he heard the princess's name. He immediately went to stand in front of Kathy as well and asked, "we heard that the princess is very beautiful and that wealthy and royal men come from both far and wide to behold her beauty, is that true?"

Kathy nodded her head, "yes it's true, the princess is really beautiful. She is the most beautiful in the whole kingdom.

She was the one who sent me to get these flowers for her so she could smell them when she woke up from sleep and now the flowers I plucked have been ruined.

I have already delayed for too long, if the princess wakes up before I arrive with the flowers or I go back without the flowers, she would be very upset and I would be severely punished."

Jackson said, "wow! I haven't even met the princess yet and I've already fallen in love. A Royal maiden like her who smells lovely flowers the moment she wakes up in the morning is bound to be very beautiful."

Damian however, felt differently. How could the princess send a young girl like Kathy into the forest and at this time? If they were all evil men, they would have taken advantage of Kathy's weakness and have their way with her. What if someone else had seen her? Or what if a wild animal had attacked her?

This was unacceptable, the princess could have sent capable warriors if she was that obsessed with flowers. Why send such an innocent girl into the dangerous forest?

Seeing Jackson jubilate so much, made Mason annoyed. He had only agreed to stop by this kingdom because Jackson had insisted that he was going to die if he didn't get to see the princess.

Mason believed that Jackson had fallen in love with an idea, considering the fact that he had never even seen the princess before and now he was jubilating because he had just heard a bunch of nonsense from a witch who wasn't in anyway reliable.
