I imagined every scenario possible on why my mother gave up on me; she is very strong, and I know that she could resist them if she wanted.

"Did they hold something over her head?" I pondered. That must be it.

I needed to get out of this cell tonight and fast; tomorrow, I won't be alive.

It is going to be difficult, but I will have to do something. I can't wait for Austin to rescue me again and put himself in danger.

I quickly ate the food that was given to me. I wasn't allowed to feed myself so that I wouldn't escape.

Immediately after I finished eating, I lowered my head like I was asleep. I waited for thirty minutes for the guard to finally leave.

It would have been a piece of cake if he was Anthony. I started screaming and foaming in my mouth.

I was able to do that with enough spit and blood in my mouth.

"Help me, please!" I pleaded, shaking.

The guard untied my wrist, a huge mistake. He must be a newbie.

I stood up, snapped his neck, took his key, and ran for my life.

The first door had two guards. I didn't want them to know that I was there so that they wouldn't alert the whole pack.

There was a tunnel I could follow; I climbed the tunnel and came out at the entrance of the pack gate.

I noticed two guards coming in my direction. I quickly hid myself and waited for the guards to pass.

I heard them talking.

"Anthony, please help me get her out! I can't watch her die, Austin pleaded.

"I can't help you, Austin. You know that I am still under punishment after her last escape."

"They will hang me if they find out that I helped you; besides,  I am not in charge of her cell tonight," Anthony replied.

"Then help me get her out; I promise I won't put you into trouble."

Immediately, he agreed to help me; I came out of my hiding spot.

Austin was surprised to see me. We quickly dashed out together to escape.

The guards were asleep, and the gates were locked.

I climbed the fence with Austin. We were almost out of the pack when someone flashed a torch in our direction.

"Halt!" he screamed, pointing his weapon at me. I wanted to escape, but it might put Austin in danger.

I pushed him away; he fell hard on a tree; he will live. I needed him to escape. I needed to make sure that he was safe.

He changed into his wolf form and ran fast, just like I requested him to.

I stood there and waited for what would happen.

"Turn around slowly," he commanded.

He gasped, immediately he saw my face.

"How did you escape from your cell? Who was that with you, your accomplice?" he asked with disdain.

"This is the second time I caught you, Mira. I will have to make sure that there is no third," he said, squeezing my throat and lifted me from the ground.

"Phillipe, you old goat!" I spat.

He threw me down on the floor with force.

"Move forward slowly; one misstep from you, and you will lose your head."

I had no choice; I had to go with him.

He dragged me with him, back to their station.

There were about five of them there; they tied me up.

"I heard you killed Sebastian; how is that possible for a small child like you? He is one of our best fighters, and he is also a million years old. He is too much for a girl like you to handle," the first guard with dyed red hair mocked.

"It must be her moves; I heard that she got moves," Phllipe mocked.

"Maybe she should show us other moves," the guard with huge lips suggested, leering at me.

I glared at them, my teeth out and my eyes shining green.

"She is feisty like her mother and a cold-hearted bitch," the fourth guard chirped in.

"No wonder she murdered her mate; Alpha Richard was weak; he should have killed her instead to cure himself," the guard with huge lips mocked.

I was shocked. Rage took control of me; within seconds, I butchered them.

I needed to confront her. I ran back to the pack, following the secret tunnel. It was a piece of cake to get to her room and wait for her.

In no time, she arrived in her room looking tired and worn out.

She was about to change into her nightwear when she noticed me in the mirror.

She gasped, "Mira, how did you get in here?"

My teeth chattered in rage as I glared at her.

"Look, I know that you are mad that I didn't protect you. I had no choice but to sentence you to death. I knew you would escape, and you did."

"What did you do to Father?" I thundered; lightning ignited in my eyes and my body. My claws were out, and my wings too.

"Mira, I don't know what you heard, but they are not true. Your father died from the curse."

"You lie!" I raged.

"You killed him; you butchered him in his sleep. He could have used you to cure himself, but he didn't," I cried out.

"It is not that simple. I had no choice; I had to do what I had to do to protect the pack."

I released the lightning; she was so quick to dodge it.

I raged towards her and swung my claws at her. I hit her down with my claws, slashing her arms.

She healed instantly.

How did she do that? Sebastian was not able to heal from my injuries.

"What is she?" I wondered, distracted.

She held my throat and injected something from a vial inside me.

My power ceased immediately. She threw me on the floor.

"I was waiting for when to use this. I used this on your father to end his misery," her tone changed.

"Poor Richard was so afraid of being a danger to his precious daughter that he begged me to kill him. I did you and him a favor."

"I protected you from him. I should have killed you, just like your mother, when I had the chance."

I froze, immediately.

"What do you mean by You killed my mother? What nonsense are you talking about Mother?" I raged.

"Maybe you should ask your bastard father once you see him on the other side."

I could not believe what I heard. This seems like a movie to me. I waited for her to laugh and scream, "Surprise! It was a joke."

I can't believe they kept this from me for years.

Now, I understand why she was so irritated with me and was so quick to send me away.

I realize now that I wasn't her daughter. How was that possible? Why did they hide it from me all these years?

I forced myself to stand up. My feet were as heavy as lead.

"Don't fight it; it won't wear off that easily. You have to take the antidote first. The drug works faster in a wolf's body."

She took out her knives, sharpening them both.

"Which shall it be? The knives just like I killed her or the poison?"

"I know," she clasped her hands.

"I think it should be by poison; that way you will feel excruciating pain," she taunted and cackled.

She is a monster. I thought I was one because of the people that I had killed, but compared to her, I am a saint.

She took another vial and poured it down my throat. The substance, once it came in contact with my throat, burned so much.

It was as if I swallowed fire. I could not move, and my body felt like I had been stabbed with a thousand needles. I passed out immediately.

I kept waking up at intervals; my eyes were too heavy to stay open.

I noticed that something or someone was moving me. I felt useless.

Eventually, I awoke in a cell. At first, I thought it was the other side till someone came to inform me that I was captured as a slave by the old Alpha of

Crescent Pack.

I was summoned to the assembly ground. I quickly arose and joined the others.

We were just fifteen, who wore chains on their wrists.

A man kept on dishing out the rules of the pack and what would happen to us if we were to disobey them.

There was nothing about him that looked old. He was more than six feet tall. His hair was jet black, and his eyes were intimidating.

He is all muscle; I have never met anyone who looked like him anywhere in my life. His scent was intoxicating and enticing to me.

He came and stood near me. I felt like he could read my soul.

"Is that clear, pup?" he glared at me.

I was wrong about the color of his eyes. They. They were not blue but grey; they drew me in, and they distracted me from listening.

He lifted my jaw and sniffed me. There was confusion evident on his face.

"What the fuck are you, pup?" His deep voice caressed me.

I was in a meeting for three long, boring hours listening to my men and father talk about Alpha Jax and his empty threats.I didn't have time to see Mira today. Normally I visited her morning and night to make sure that she was alright.I remembered our little squabble before Mildred interrupted us.That little pest, poking her nose where it is not needed.A smile lit my face as her face appeared in my mind. I shivered when I remembered how she responded to my touch and how her glistening and gorgeous lips drew closer to mine.I pondered on what would have happened if we hadn't been interrupted.Would we have stopped just kissing, or would we have taken it further?I know I said I didn't want her but I can't seem to keep my hands to myself whenever I am around her.It is like a magnetic force is pulling me closer to her every day.Although she is one of the most difficult, stubborn, and hotheaded females I have ever seen, I
