CHAPTER 47 – Zara’s POV

Two days had passed, and I found myself somewhat indifferent to the situation between Lucas and me. Although he occasionally attempted to bridge the gap, his pride often got in the way. However, I didn't let it bother me too much. It was up to us to resolve our issues in due time.

I loved Lucas deeply, and my love for him drove me to support him wholeheartedly in every aspect of his life. Whether it was his career, his aspirations for our family, or his dreams, I always said yes to him.

But sometimes, I hoped for the same level of support in return. After all, my endeavors mattered too. I had poured my heart and soul into my businesses, fighting tooth and nail to keep them afloat.

If everything were suddenly taken away from me—my businesses, my properties—there would be nothing left. Nevertheless, I had invested my blood, sweat, and tears into them, not to mention the livelihoods of numerous employees who depended on them. That's why I felt a tinge of disapp

So, I suggested he should go back to his room because I needed to be alone. Luckily, he agreed. I saw Nick again in the morning and he told me that breakfast was ready. Since was I starving, I waited until I was full before I opened up the topic for discussion but Nick beat me to it. He immediately apologized for his action. “I'm sorry about last night,” Nick apologized. “It's okay, but I hope you won't do it again,” I warned him. “I was tempted,” he said. “I'm used to you getting tempted easily,” I replied. I wasn't trying to hint at anything, but that was the truth. “Don't you want to shower early? Go ahead, I'll prepare our breakfast,” Nick said before heading to the kitchen. I entered the room and went straight to the bathroom to shower. In less than five minutes, I was done bathing. I wrapped myself in a towel before leaving the bat

CHAPTER 49 – Zara’s POV ”I’m sorry,” I said to him and hugged him tightly before he could complain. “I’m really sorry,” I repeatedly apologized to the man I love but he just stared at me. Initially I was afraid to touch him because I thought he might reject me, but I still tried. “I miss you so much,” I said after passionately kissing him on the lips. “Where have you been, Zara?” Lucas asked. “Just around,” I replied. “But can we talk later?” I asked him as I entered the room and took off his clothes. We were both eager for each other, so in less than a minute, our clothes were scattered on the floor. Like me, Lucas was wild too. He squeezed my breasts firmly, making me squirm with laughter. As his lips slowly moved down from my lips to my stomach, I moaned when I felt his tongue on my womanhood. Maybe he thought it was better to be on the bed, so he carried me to the bed and quickly followed suit. “Oh Lucas...” I repeatedly whispered his name as he pleasured me with his tongue.

CHAPTER 50 – Lucas’ POV I was incredibly worried. It had been two long days since we last spoke. We were both stubborn, but in the end, it was me who was hurting the most. Do you want to know why? All I wanted was for her to stop working. She carried the heavy burden of being my wife and a mother to our child. I wanted her to enjoy her life, to have the freedom to pursue her own happiness. I had my own work, my own business, and more than enough money to provide for us. I could take care of her, and that's all that mattered to me. That's why I initially asked her to give up her business. But she didn't take it well; she was offended, even though that wasn't my intention. The truth was, she didn't want to give it up. I tried talking to her, but she didn't respond. I became sulky too, and I stopped coaxing her. I knew I was in the wrong, but I thought she would understand what I wanted. All I wanted was the best for her. She was my wife, and I didn't want to burden her with somethin

Startled, I refocused my attention and forced a smile, assuring her that everything was fine. “I was just checking in with Lucas to see where he is,” I calmly explained. Mrs. Montgomery chimed in, understandingly. “Ah, it's rush hour, and the roads are congested. Mr. Blackwood is probably caught up in the traffic,” she said, offering an explanation for Lucas's delay. Mrs. Montgomery proceeded to elaborate on the forest motif that she had planned for our wedding. The mere thought of a twilight-like atmosphere filled me with an overwhelming sense of excitement, and I couldn't help but clap my hands joyfully. As the discussion continued, the door swung open, and Lucas finally appeared, clutching a box in his hands. “Hot
