CHAPTER TWO – ENGAGEMENT CALLED OFF

Paul Waals who was standing behind Rose was calm and tried his best to calm his mother down.

Priscilla indeed didn’t really expect that the woman who was with Ryan was Regina.

Originally thinking that it was just Ryan betraying her, he came up with this damaging trick to make a fool of himself to relieve her hatred.

But unexpectedly not only did her fiancé cheat on her, but she was also cheated by her foster sister.

Rose was so furious that she raised her cane to smash down on her. Katherine, who was beside her, was stopping her.

Mom, say what you want to say but don’t get angry, be careful of your body. It is not good for you to be mad.

Katherine turned over to advise Priscilla. Priscilla, don’t make grandma angry anymore. If Regina is at fault, you can beat her or scold her later, it’s all up to you, but grandma is old listen to me, don’t talk to grandma like that.

The gentle and sensible look, if she didn’t know better, she would have thought how kind she was.

Priscilla sarcastically quirked the corner of her lips.

Her grandmother, Rose, saw her and became more angry.

You feel satisfied now, don’t you?

If you put your sister and fiancé behind bars!! You will make the Waals family lose face before the Smith family. Do you even know your last name? Your sister is a star, what will she do in the future if the word gets out? Will she still be accepted in the entertainment industry? Will the Smiths and the Waals still want to see each other again in the future? Have you thought about these things?

Priscilla looked at her coldly, so that’s all you can think of?

Rose was stunned.

They cheated and betrayed me! But you are still blaming me?

So what do you and me do to them? Turning a blind eye to their action or wishing them a happy life!!

Rose was speechless. She then said in a cold angry voice, you are not able to keep a man, but you blame someone else for betraying you? If you were a good one, why would a man dump you and fall in love with your sister?

Whereas, you are not a true daughter of the Waals. You can’t blame him for falling for the right person. You were dumped at birth it isn’t surprising you got dumped again.

Mother, Paul thundered. Enough of all this nonsense. You shouldn’t be discussing family issues here.

Yea, I know am not a true Waals but at least I possess some decent and modest character, unlike Regina a true Waals who goes about seducing people’s fiancé.

Priscilla has long suspected that she was not a true Waals it was said that our father Paul mysteriously brought her in one certain day. She was just a day-old baby when she came into the family. Rose had thought that her son had an affair with someone she was so furious and angry that night that her son brought to her home an illegitimate grandchild as her daughter in law then hasn’t conceived yet, so she asked Katherine to pretend to be the mother of the baby.

Katherine was very devastated then, she assumed that her husband had an affair with one of his mistress due to her inability to put to bed. In order to save her marriage she decided to lock up and accept the fact. Two years later, she put to bed and birthed Regina.

What mother, Priscilla isn’t a true Waals? Katherine asked.

She has spent all the years believing her husband Paul cheated on her.

I said enough, and Paul spoke loudly.

Dad, Priscilla called out.

It’s okay darling am here.

Shih…. Paul said immediately.

 When Priscilla looked up, she saw Harold Smith coming out together with Ryan and Regina from the interrogation room.

Harold had a very unpleasant face.

 Regina was holding onto Ryan's arms, her beautiful face filled with grieving eyes. She looked so pitiful.

A group of people sprang forward, eagerly concerned. Regina, are you okay?

Regina sighed softly and said I am fine.

After saying that, she looked up at Priscilla and said, am sorry. I and Ryan really didn’t mean to do this to you.

Priscilla smirked at her with are face expressionlessly, she gave Regina a cold stare.

Priscilla knew deep down that the apology was so fake, Regina only apologized because of the crowd in other to save her face.

Harold also sighed and stepped forward to speak with Priscilla. Priscilla dear, this matter is our family's fault, though the deed has been done, if you need any compensation let us know.

C-compensation!! Priscilla replied looking amazed. You want to get rid of me. Harold felt ashamed and a hint of guilty appeared on his face. He turned around and called Ryan to come and fix this matter.

Ryan felt reluctant, but because of his father’s authority, he had to obey.

Ryan came over to Priscilla and without remorse and a cold face, he looked straight into her eyes and said, I don’t think we are compatible with each other, let’s break the engagement.

Priscilla though she was expecting this felt a sharp pain in her heart. She forced the tears that welled up her eyes back.

She then spoke with a soft voice, how long have we been engaged together?

Six years, Ryan snorted.

She never expected the six years to be gone like that.

The fact that she caught them in the act and they felt unremorseful was what baffled her.

She suddenly looked up and said Yes, I will break the engagement and will get back to you with what compensation I want. Priscilla said and left in a hurry.

Ryan looked in our direction surprised that she agreed.
