I entered the code, and as the door was unlocked, I hurried inside. There she was, seated on the edge of the couch, a mix of relief and fear in her eyes. Without hesitation, I rushed over and enveloped her in a tight hug.

The sensation of holding her was a soothing remedy to the worry that had been eating away at me. I had been trying to contact her all day, but she hadn't picked up. The worst-case scenario had played out a thousand times, each repetition drilling more fear than the rest.

When she finally returned my call, her voice was quivering as she explained that someone had abducted her. Hearing those words intensified my heart pounding.

My father must have had something to do with this—perhaps he was trying to teach me a lesson.

But now, with her safe and sound in my arms, it was like a heavy burden had been lifted off my shoulders. All the dark thoughts vanished, replaced by the pure joy of having her right there with me.
