Two years?
Two years of my life seemed so long, looking at those papers. My hands were shaking badly, as I held the pen. I tried my best to keep my tears from soiling the papers but to no avail.“Get on with it already!” Dolph yelled harshly, and impatiently, at me. “You're going to drench the entire contract with tears.”“Alright!” I snapped back at him impulsively. “I'm sorry… I'm just having quite a moment…”“Well, we don't have all day. We also have a wedding to prepare for, and a comeback to plan for.” Dolph retorted with a fierce look in his eyes that made it clear that he wasn't going to let me go anytime soon. I had indeed fallen into a trap.My hands scribbled my signatures immediately on the papers, and handed it right back to him, then dried my tears immediately. I wanted to build my resolve and face the consequences of my actions.“Wipe your tears, sweetheart,” he said, snatching the contract away from my hands. “We have just two years to go…”It was hard holding back my tears at that, as he mocked me badly. Being one of my biggest haters, he was going to be making these two years far too difficult for me.“But what about my career…?” I asked, trying to make sure that the one thing that was going to come out for me was intact. “How do you intend to—”“That's up to me now. I call the shots here,” Dolph snarled at me, as he made for the door. “Welcome to a world where everything doesn't happen on your terms. I hope you have a good time trying to adapt.”“You bastard…” I yelled, but he shut the door on me, clearly showing that he was in charge. I hurried after him, but the door was locked on me. After several banging and knocking, I just had to give in to the fact that it was all hopeless.Tears welled up in my eyes all over again, as I sunk into despair. It was just too much for me to handle on my own. I fell to my knees in tears, as I wondered what everyone was going to say when they realized that Tamika Fisher had suddenly disappeared after she had received the most brutal breakup ever.I just had to face it. My legacy was ruined. After building it up diligently through so much toil and sweat. The end of Tamika Fisher had just happened, and there was no taking it back.Right there, I cried my eyes out, but no one heard me. I was out of moves and out of luck.***Dolph's POV“Easy as cake…” I sighed in amusement, as I tried to keep myself from being too excited about the new victory I had just scored. No one would believe that I had the once famous Tamika Fisher at my mercy, and ready to do anything I would ask her to do.I had just gotten a new bragging right. But at the same time, I was lashing out at her for being such a lousy media personality whose flimsy ideas had misled many, including one of my exes. But then, I didn't pay much mind to it, as I had her right where I wanted her. The contract in my hand was like my victory trophy, and the sound of her banging on the door was a perfect symphony to my ears.“Could I help you with that, sir?” Taylor, one of my house servants, offered, as he saw me with the files in my hands.“They're just files, Taylor,” I scoffed. “Not like I would break a finger from carrying them. Go find something more useful to do.”“Oh… yes sir…” Taylor said, hurriedly taking his leave. There was just too much energy rubbing through the young man's veins.“And…” I called out to him just before he was out of range. “Make sure some food is given to our new guest in one of the guest rooms.”“Yes sir…” he replied with a vibrant nod. “I will do that immediately…”“No one should ever hear a word of this outside, am I clear?” I wanted to make sure that all my household personnel were clear about what was going on.“You have my word…”With that, I was confident enough to let him go, as I continued to my room. I was going to tell my parents that I was about to be wedded. At last, they were going to get off my neck, and let me breathe freely. As I got to my room, I put the documents of the contract in a passworded safe. That was the most important before any other thing.I took up my phone and dialed my father's number. It was normal for me to think through my words before every conversation I had with him, but that time around, I wasn't going to need any of that.“Hello, Mr. Martin,” I always sounded official when I spoke to him, as the situation of things hadn't always been so good among us. “How are you doing today?”“For goodness’s sake, Dolph…” Aaron, my father, had a much more friendly demeanor than I did. “When are you going to put away with this act?”“Well… I can see that you are doing quite okay, Mr. Martin,” I replied like I hadn't heard the last of his statements.“Jeez…” Aaron sighed. “You are one hopeless case, Dolph. What's the problem? Why did you call? I know you never call Mr. Martin to check how Mr. Martin is doing?”“Really?” I wasn't going to fall for that emotional blackmail.“Too bad that I was calling Mr. Martin for something right now.”The tired sigh from his end of the line had me wondering what exactly was going through his mind, but then, I was ready to burst his bubble.“You need to get a wife, Dolph—”“I'm about to get married…” I was angry that he had said that before me.Just as soon, as I said that, Taylor came bursting through the door with a frightful look on his face.“What is it, Taylor?” I questioned angrily.“Your visitor…” he muttered in fear, “… she tried to kill herself…”What the…“She tried killing herself…” Taylor’s seemed like a lie to me at that point.“Mr. Martin, I’ll have to call you back…” I said, hanging up before my father could get a reply. My feet hurried after Taylor who was already running out of the room, showing just how serious it was. “Right this way sir…” Taylor said, as though I didn’t know where the room was. “That bitch…” I muttered under my breath, as I wondered what stunt she had tried to pull off that time around. In an instant, I got to the door of the room which was wide open, with two of my men standing by it. The sight before me was nothing short of laughable. “What the heck is this?” I asked, as I kept my eyes on Tamika who was standing on a stool, trying to hang herself with a piece of clothing that she had tied to the chandelier up above. “I told you I would help you get your career back, but I never remembered you showing any interest in theatrics.”“Stand back!” Tamika yelled at me. “That's what she has been screaming ever
The ride to wherever we were going was quiet. Even with the cozy air conditioning in the vehicle, the air between Dolph and I was stifling and sultry. It was almost feeling like I was being suffocated by his presence. We were seated in the backseat, with two of his men in front. They were always clothed in black suits with shades that made them look nothing short of emotionless. “So… where are you taking me?” I finally mustered the courage to ask the pressing question and break the long-standing silence. I turned to Dolph who had his gaze on the view outside the car. “Could you make this seem less like an abduction and tell me exactly where we are going?”“We are going somewhere, where we are sure that the media won’t miss you and I together.” Dolph, most definitely, wasn’t a fan of giving direct answers to my questions. “We are about to create some of the biggest stirs online at Caesar’s place.”“What?” I was finally making sense of why he had been so selective about my dressing for
“What the heck is he doing here?” I questioned myself out loud, as I wondered why everything had to be happening at that moment when I was about making my grand reappearance to the public. Did there have to be a touch of drama to whatever I did?“Who’s he?” Dolph turned, asking with a frown. The first display of protectiveness from him was both cute and scary at the same time. He looked like a lion guarding his territory from an intruding hyena. And a hyena was all I imagined whenever I thought of Randy. All he had done was to leverage on my fame and status to get himself a new girl after he had gotten tired of me. He was a real jerk and more. Why was he suddenly beckoning in me?I couldn’t care less about that. At the moment, I wanted to make him as jealous as I could, as I clung tightly to Michael’s arm. “That’s my stupid ex…” I replied Dolph, holding his arm. “Let’s continue, he’s not important.”With that, I was hoping that Randy would be sensible enough not to pursue me any furt
“Can I have my phone now?” I demanded impatiently, as I itched to see what was going on online, after what had happened at the mall that day. I was sure that there was fire, but then, I wanted to see it for myself. But Dolph seemed carried away by whatever it was that he had his eyes on his phone. He barely looked up at me or paid me any mind. “Are you being serious right now?” I pressed further trying my best to annoy him to the point where he would have no other option but to give in to my demands. “This is my career for crying out loud, I deserve to know what's going on at the moment.”“Tamika Fisher spotted with a new man...” he said, still scrolling through his phone, still without looking up at me. “What the heck is that supposed to mean?” I questioned in annoyance, as he seemed to be intentionally trying to get on my nerves.“That's what's trending right now everywhere,” Dolph said, as he put his phone away and turned his face to the other side of the car. “I will not take the
“Rise and shine, sleepy head.” Dolph’s voice echoed from the door to the other side of the room where I lay, suddenly startling me from my dreams. “Why do you have to wake me so rudely?” I questioned, as I slowly sat up in bed. If only he knew just how restless my night had been, he would have let me sleep the whole day. This was nothing like the way Tamika Fisher began her day. It was usually the gentle chiming of her alarm clock or the kiss of her lover that woke her from her peaceful sleep. But now, she was stuck with the obsessive man who was going to stop at nothing to make her life even more miserable than it already was. It was safe to say that I had become a shadow of myself.“We have a new task for the day which we must begin working on immediately,” Dolph replied, completely ignoring everything that I had just said.“I thought you were a billionaire. Don’t you have a business to run?” I questioned, still angry from having my sleep cut short. “Why do you bother me like I’
I was trying my very best not to panic. But it was hard not to. Why had they come that early and unannounced? The idea had my mother written all over it, as she seemed to have wanted to see what I was like with my woman in the morning. My mother, Kayla Martin had been a therapist at some point. One of her favorite quotes stated that the best time to see how happy a couple was, was the morning. I figured that she was about to use that on me. I felt bad that I hadn’t seen that coming.“What do we do, sir?” Taylor asked, being as shocked as we were. “Their car just pulled over inside here.”“Well, tell the maids to set up breakfast while we get ready,” I ordered, trying to give myself and Tamika some time alone. “Go on now.”He shut the door leaving us both to ourselves. I was faced with the bigger problem of having an unprepared Tamika to face my highly inquisitive parents. “So, what are we going to do?” Tamika finally broke the silence that was settling over the conversation. “I thou
“Mom...?” The sound of those words leaving his lips would have me scared. Knowing that I was naked right in front of his mom made me even more ashamed of myself. “What are you doing in here?” Dolph questioned angrily, as he turned his back on me to face his mother who was at the door. He covered me perfectly, and I just had to give him that. “First a surprise visit, now a surprise waking in on me and my... fiancee.”I let out a sigh of relief as he had almost blown it back there. I managed to peek over his shoulder to see his mother who had a slight resemblance to him. “Dolph... I'm sorry, I didn't know you both were... having one of those times this early and at this time,” his mother said, quickly replacing the shocked expression on her face with a pleasant smile. “I'll be waiting for you both downstairs.”“Fine...” Dolph said, waiting for her to leave, but then she seemed too carried away by the sight of the both of us there. “Go on...”“Right...” she said, as though she hadn't
“I don't think that's necessary,” I suddenly had to step in, as I could see the shock scribbled on Tamika's face. “We all came here for an amicable gathering of a family about to meet the fiancee of one of their best sons. This is not a goddamn interrogation.”From my past knowledge, I always knew that Dale would be a spoiler of the show. He just had a knack for ruining everything he could get his hands on. “Why are you so defensive all of a sudden?” Dale teased, as he had a mischievous smile on his face. “We are all family, and we deserve to know everything that we can know. It would be pretty bad if the Martin family gets involved with something or someone scandalous.”“Scandalous? You, the controversial Dale Martin, taking about scandalous?” I just got some self-restraint in place just at the right time before I would explode, and spill all of his dirty secrets right there and then. “Cut it out, you two,” Kayla ordered, putting out the fire of animosity between my brother and me.
"And yeah... I'm going to pay him a surprise visit..." I decided that as I was on the phone with Julia while trying to get out of bed. "That would spice things up as we would get to make out in his office...""You are naughtier than you sound on the radio..." Julia remarked as she was laughing hard over the phone with some music playing in the background. Soon enough, I was in the car on my way to the office. I was sure that Dolph was bound to be happy if he saw me showing up there. I was happy that I was going to be putting a smile on his face at that point. The air was simply cool all around me and it felt real good, much cooler than it would feel on a normal day. There were a lot of things that had me feeling like I was about to have a great day as I was about to make it all happen right there and then. I wanted to recreate the memory of the night that we had in his office on the night of the anniversary. There were just too many things that had me feeling like that moment in hi
"Hey, Dolphy..." I said as I was soon walking towards him with a walk that I made as seductive as possible. It seemed like I was about to face one of the most unimaginable moments that I would ever be in. Dolph was looking like a helpless prey in my hands at that point, as he was reeling from the effects of the drug he used to be so hung on. That moment had me wondering what exactly I would be up against in the next couple of moments as I was soon seeing the desires that were burning up in his eyes as he seemed to be sizing me up right at that moment. "What… are you doing here?" He sounded like he was out of breath like he was being eaten up slowly by a disease for which the only antidote to it was my body. There were a lot of things that had me feeling like I was about to be eaten whole. "Are you all right, Dolph...?" I asked, knowing that he was far from all right as he was looking to get his hands on me. "You don't look all right to me... you're looking like you are about to l
"Hello, Tamika's husband…" Michael reminded me of the title my mom had given me back then as I was driving to my office. It was bad that I had been called that by my mother, but then I wasn't going to tolerate that at all from Michael. "Call me that again and you're fired…" I said jokingly as I soon had the casino in view. I didn't know what it was that made everything seem much more beautiful after I had gotten married. That was my first time stepping out of the house after I had gotten married, and it was feeling quite awesome. The look of that ring on my finger was quite exhilarating each time my eyes came to where the steering was. It was almost hard for me to understand how I had been able to get it all to work out to the point where I got married to Tamika. There had been a lot of hindrances, but somehow we were able to get out of everything. "So, what's up? How's the newer couple in town holding up?" Michael asked as he was sounding like he had just woken from a long, event
"Are you sure it's that important?" I just didn't know what it was that made me feel cynical about Dolph's decision to go along with the visit to the office. He had just gotten married two days ago and there he was, suddenly trying to head back to the office when he was meant to be in bed with his wife. "It's not like important important, but I won't take long, I promise. Just need to get some files and I will be back with you, hun…" Dolph said as he went on with dressing up. He was dressing casually to the office in a bid to convince me that he wasn't going to stay long. But I still wasn't convinced by any of it. There were just too many things that had me feeling like I couldn't make it past those few moments without him by my side. It was hard for me to understand what exactly I would be doing all alone in those few moments that I would be all alone in there. "Tamika…" he said, as he put his arms around me after turning away from the mirror that time around. "You know I'll miss
I couldn't deny how lonely it felt, having to watch everything happen from the confines of my solitude which was eating me up slowly as I was almost losing it from watching the clips of Tamika's wedding online. It was quite a hard sight to behold but it ailed me greatly as I believed that all of this was meant to have happened between me and Ava. But that bastard Dolph had taken my place by her side and it was simply the hardest thing to watch. I just couldn't stand the sight of it. The jealousy had me burning up badly like I was having a fever. At first, I wanted to act cool and pretend that I was happy for her and all of that. But the pretentious act wasn't working as I had thought she wouldn't be happy with anyone else besides me. There were a lot of things that had me feeling like I was being mocked and made fun of with all those pictures and videos of them floating all through the net. It felt like she was trying to show me how capable she was to find happiness in the arms of
"But they just got married… how could you possibly be thinking of doing something that would cause them to split immediately? That's simply unfair." Amelia's words sounded like mere lip service to me as she almost sounded like she was just trying to show that she still had a conscience which was alive and breathing. Like she didn't want the same thing. "Quit acting like you were so happy with seeing that my brother had you replaced with her," I said, hitting her hard in places that I knew she wouldn't recover easily from. She was quite an egotistic one and I knew it was going to take way more than talk to get her to believe that the plan would be in her best interest as well. That would take a lot from me, but I didn't mind if that would be the case as long as she would end up agreeing to my request. It was hard for me to think of what I would be able to do at that point. "I understand, but still…" she paused a bit before restarting. "Are you going to make yourself come in betwee
It had been a refreshing moment being in the shower with Dolph, up until the moment he had made mention of the way we had met. It had me feeling awkward and it ended up ruining the entire moment for me. I wondered just how long all of that would go on. It was almost beginning to look like things would never get back to normal ever again. From that moment, I decided that I would be staying away from my phone and every external connection, as that had been mainly what had caused all of that. If I would stay away from Dale and all of his lies and frame-ups then I would surely regain the sanity I once had before have took it all away from me. "Let's just be happy…" I whispered to myself as I was about to leave the mirror which I had been staring at for the past couple of moments. I was feeling my confidence as it waned with each passing moment. It was bound to be another moment of putting up fake smiles for the cameras. It was almost like I would be airing on a show where I had to
I stood there in the shower, as I was breathing heavily as I had just dodged a major bullet from all that had just happened to me at that point. A lot was going on in my head as I was trying to figure my way out of that mess. It was hard to stay put that time around as I was realising that the effects of that drug in my system were about to cost me my marriage. That moment had me feeling impatient to go and find out what I had to do from Dr. Meyers. It almost felt like I couldn't do anything from that point onwards. It almost felt like my predicament was the most hopeless of all. There just weren't any means of identifying how I could be able to stay away from misbehaving until we had a lasting solution to that. There were no words to describe just how miserable I felt at that moment. All that our union was hanging on to at that point was Tamika's trust in me. I felt the desperate need to get her to trust me all over again, as the trust she had for me seemed to be wavering with each
It felt like my world had suddenly stopped and restarted hurriedly as I stood there staring at my screen. What was that I was looking at? It was almost impossible for me to keep a straight focus at that point, as I wanted to believe that what I was looking at was some sort of strange, unreal reality.I could bet that Dale was giggling victoriously wherever he was at the moment. There were just too many things that had me feeling like I was about to lose my mind from just watching the video. I turned off the screen at once as I was looking to keep myself from falling apart right there and then. Why was everything popping up right there and then? For the next couple of moments, I forgot that Dolph was in the room and it made me feel like I was about to lose my mind from the pressure that was coming on me slowly. The words he was saying to his mother over the phone were simply breezing past me as I was simply trying to get my mind off the video I saw. That one hit differently as I had s
