Her face went wild at the revelation of Tom wanting to take everything from Joseph. She wondered what he meant by that and what prompted him to make that resolution. She had to stand properly, leaving the table she was leaning on to give him the proper attention to what he had to say.

“Why did you suddenly change your mind? This was not your mindset before”, she questioned, and he smiled a bit to ease the tension building up between them.

“It’s not something that serious, don’t get yourself worked up over something like that”, he responded, but she was not satisfied.

The curiosity to know why he changed his mind and also the fear that something might happen to him set in within her. She doesn’t want anything to happen to him because he has become someone so precious to her, she might not be able to bear it if he gets hurt, since she gets emotionally attached easily.

Thanks to Amber’s visit to Tom’s house on his birthday, Stephanie was able to get a grip of herself even though she sulked over it for days and didn’t take a step out of her room. All her work was transferred to her email, and she worked over it at home. She had been working crazily for three days that she didn’t even realize that she hadn’t taken a bath for those three days. It was when she stood up to stretch herself and her eyes fell on her disheveled hair that was all across her head and shoulders. A loud scream escaped her throat as she scanned her full body in the mirror. She was a stinking mess and that was what she hated the most in the world. Anything dirty irritated her the most, she can’t stand it, no matter how little it is and seeing herself that dirty, rough and messy got her surprised, pissed up and disappointed in herself. She wanted to forget him but hated the fact that she had to fall into such a mess because of a man. Her pride was hurt. The fact that she had to w

Ever since the day Tom declared his intention of getting the whole group, Amber began to make moves on her own end too. She would not wait and let Tom be ousted from the group just like that after all his hard work throughout the years. She was well known in the secretaries’ groups, so everyone was already ready to render help whenever she needed one. She thought about using them to her advantage, and they were willing to help. Her mother was finally discharged from the hospital, and she brought her home to stay with her. Tom was understanding enough to give her a few days' holiday in order to keep her company and help her adapt to living on her own now, since there is no caregiver like in the hospital. Even though she was at home, she made sure to do all her office work on time and sent it in through the mail, so her absence was not felt in the slightest. Her mother, who had not seen her work closely, was proud of her as she silently gazed at her daughter from behind while she was

Her mom had noticed that she and Tom were in an argument because she rarely picked up his calls or replied to his texts, which was unusual. She pretended as if she hadn’t been aware for days, hoping they would mend up soon, but when she saw that it was getting longer than usual, she had to step in. Amber had just come back from work that very day and went straight to shower because she was exhausted, thanks to the extreme work at the mall that day as they were sorting the new orders that came in. She finished cleaning herself up and went up to the table to have some food her mom had already dished and just as she settled down, her mother opened up. “What is going on between you and Tom? Are you both not going to make up? Until when will you continue this fight?”, she suddenly asked, to Amber’s surprise. Amber wanted to cover it up and lie that they had made up, but she felt she should discuss it with her mother to see her own point of view. She went on explaining the incident that h

The drive down to the wedding venue was a silent one as different thoughts flowed through her head. She had still not figured out why Tom was bent on making her follow him to the wedding when she clearly didn’t want to go. It was something that was against her will and she would be lying if she claimed not to be disappointed in his rigid decision. Nevertheless, the outcome of the wedding will determine the new turnout of their relationship both as a boss and employee and also as lovers, because she’s not ready to date someone who will not reason with her but fix his own decisions on her instead. That kind of relationship is not what she wanted and it is draining. The ride was a silent one as all she did was stare out of the car’s window to calm herself down a little bit. It wouldn’t be nice for people to start taking notes of her mood or start asking her if she was fine, that would be another lot of stress she’s not ready to pass through, not now at all. After driving for close to a

That very day, Charles and Joseph were having that conversation. Tom had gone back to the kitchen to get himself some water when he heard them discussing Amber and what happened at the company. He wanted to burst in and punch Charles hard, but he restrained himself and thought this would be a perfect way to break his wings that he had been planning to get by getting married to a powerful family like Joy’s. He made sure to record everything that he had said without them knowing before moving back to his room. He had been thinking about how to use it since then and didn’t know until he remembered the wedding coming up. The thought of releasing it on their wedding day crept into his mind, but he also thought about how it would ruin the day of Joy, who is the bride. Kicking against the idea, he hid the recording in his safe at home until one fateful day he had to meet with one of the investors at a golf course. The investor received a call and took a twenty-minute excuse before leaving

As much as she wanted to laugh so hard at his priceless reaction when his karma came back to bite his ass, the despair the bride must be feeling wouldn’t allow her laugh as much as she wanted. For some reason, she knew within her that Tom only forced her to come, so she could witness the scenario as a payback for what happened back then at the company, but she was still not happy with him. His methods and approach were wrong to her. Nothing could justify the wickedness he had portrayed by ruining someone else’s wedding just for revenge. Ever since Joseph became the president, he had been a big menace to the company. All of his decisions affected the company negatively, which led to the investors grumbling and so much loss occurred. When Chairman Holland couldn’t contain his disappointment and worry, he started to nag Joseph, who got angry at his nagging and when it became unbearable for him, he had him put on house arrest where he cut off his connections to everyone. He began his move to become the chairman and everything was set in place with the help of Charles. On the day of his announcement, he walked briskly into the company with the will he forced the Chairman to sign a few days ago, naming him as the next chairman by transferring all his shares to him. The meeting was ongoing when Tom marched in with the police, to their surprise. No one was expecting him to show up in that place and at that time. Eddy was also brought along to identify and confirm Joseph as the one who told him to hire a man who messed with

Over the months, Tom’s condition was increasing as he became vibrant and cheerful, unlike when the accident had just occurred. He enjoyed listening to stories of the past from his mother, so he knew some information about himself, and they were enough to know who he was. After seeing Amber in his articles over and over, she caught her attention and wondered who she was, but his mother only told him that she was his secretary without including the relationship they had because she was still angry about how she left abruptly. Anita had gone shopping that fateful day and one pretty lady shifted for her to tender her goods first even though she was not obligated to and in the process of thanking her, she saw that it was who she never expected. The shopping basket fell from Amber’s hand at the sight of Tom’s mother, but she was quickly helped by the stores employees who ran to gather the scattered goods. Anita wanted to ignore her, but she didn’t hesitate to tell her side of the story wh

Joseph called Charles, who had been released on bail out, for a party to celebrate his new position, and they laughed about Tom, who thought he was smart but ended up losing everything. Before the inauguration, Charles had learned that it was Tom who helped Joy break away from him, therefore making him and his father lose face in front of Chairman Kim. He was so furious about that and Joseph happened to call him at that time that Tom was on the verge of taking everything away from him. Charles and Joseph resolved to the option of causing him an accident on the inauguration day while making him feel he had the upper hand during the preparations. Joseph also pressured Eddy to make sure he blackmailed Amber to get rid of her from his side so that their plans would be perfect. Eddy was the one that provided them with the man whom they paid to mess with Tom’s car and everything went according to their plans without any hitch or trace to them. “Yo! Even though the video was doing so many things for her, she still tried to keep her cool and smiled at Tom, who was waiting to take her home. That very day, he decided to take her on a dinner date, which further complicated things for her because she was eager to get home before her anxiousness burst out in front of Tom. Throughout the dinner, he was laughing and smiling more than usual, maybe because he was anticipating the inauguration day, and she tried her best to match his smile while trying hard not to pick on the food in front of her. After a walk to the restroom, she decided to push the thoughts aside and just enjoy the time with him because there was a probability she would be resigning and fleeing to save his face on that day. He had worked hard for that day, and she wouldn’t allow her own past to ruin it for him. Since they have just a little time before the inauguration, she will have to use them wisely. She pressured him to go on dates with her every day, buy her things

At the sound of her mother’s footsteps approaching her room to check up on her, they split apart and bounced to the edge of the room where they both put on their clothes, and they took off in a flash. She placed the pictorial magazine on her dressing table in his hands as he pushed him into the chair and her mother came in at that instant. “You should open the door if you are inside instead of making me go through the stress of passcode. Why do you keep stressing me?” her mother ranted, and immediately her eyes landed on Tom, her lips folded themselves. She was not expecting to see anyone at home with her not to talk of Tom, because she knew they had been in an argument for weeks. Her feet retracted themselves as she went back to the door as quickly as she had come. “You said you won’t be coming until tomorrow, why are you here?”, Amber slammed her, and she had no choice but to stop and answer that the doctor attended to her quickly, so she just thought about coming home instead of
