CHAPTER HUNDRED AND TWENTY NINE

Bree woke up to an empty space next to her, no dips on the bed and no warmth to show that Ryder had spent the rest of his night in their bed, and for a moment it scared her.

Not that she didn't trust him enough or something like that, but after everything that's happened between them, she still gets scared every now and again that he could withdraw back into his shell again without warning.

No amount of promises have been able to wean her off that fear entirely, though she was making little progress.

Shaking off her dampening thoughts, she gently settled her little fire cracker of a daughter on the bed, next to her equally sleeping brother.

With her loud voice that can go on and on forever, it wasn't a surprise she had kept them up through last night, her father and twin brother inclusive.

She'd finally slipped into oblivion in the earlier hours of this morning, giving everyone in the room a chance to follow suit, which was why she'd been half expecting to find Ryder still in bed with
