Lights out
POV: Winston
I impaled into her, burying myself inside of her, moaning loudly at the feeling of her walls tightening around my dick.
"Oh, fuck!" She screamed, bouncing against me. "Yes, yes yes!"
Her appealing screams and shrill gasps were all the gratification I needed. I took her hard and fast against the wall, pulling her hair back and pounding into her.
"Mark me," she suddenly whispered. "Do it. Do it now, Winston. Please."
The desperation in her eyes, the sensations in my head.
The funny thing, I almost did it. I almost committed the most dangerous blunder of our species. Marking someone that wasn't destined as mine. That wasn't created for me.
"Do it, Winston. Mark me. Claim me as yours. You want to. I know you want to."
She was raising and dropping herself on my dick, her breasts, bouncing every time she moved, nipples grazing my chest. She whined her hips into me, moaning and gasping. "Oh, oh my god, Winston!"
And then the craziest shit happened to me. Her face. Her eyes. They began to change and take the form and shape of a woman I have never met. A woman whose face, whose eyes has appeared in my dreams more than once.
A face, a scent I've been searching for all my life.
"Do it, Winston. I know you want to. Just do it."
I almost marked her. I almost did.
Suddenly, I wasn't fucking the woman I brought into this room with me. I was fucking my mate, the person destined for me. Almost like a dream. A hallucination.
I felt the urge to mark her all of a sudden. I almost sank my teeth into the flesh of her neck but was stopped by a hand on my shoulder.
"No Winston. You don't want to do this."
It was Nathan.
My vision started to clear. I snapped out of it, dropping the woman from my grasp.
"Fuck off!" he screamed at her and she scurried away half-naked, very frightened.
I took deep breaths, trying to calm myself as I adjusted my jeans and buckled up.
When had he entered the room?
I rubbed my face, burying my face in my hands. Fuck, that was a close call.
"I warned you. What were you thinking? You almost marked her Winston." he queried.
"I'm aware, Sherlock," I answered him as I walked towards a seat in the room.
I just collapsed on the couch.
"Oh really? I don't think you are aware of how much you almost completely fucked up, Winston. Because you almost broke an important law a minute ago," he reminded me.
I groaned, rubbing my face even harder this time.
"Okay, I admit I wasn't thinking okay? I wasn't and I don't know what came over me. I was just – I don't know" I sighed again.
"Is that how desperate you are? Desperate to mark someone. Anyone?"
I didn't grace him with an answer, trying to calm my breathing.
"Maybe you should stay away from women for a while, you don't want to make any stupid mistakes that you will certainly regret later," he advised.
"You're right." I combed my hair with my fingers, nodding slightly in agreement.
We walked out of the room, heading back to the club. He took one look at the women laughing, dancing on the poles, grinding against each other, kissing each other and beckoning on us to join them and he suddenly stopped.
"You know what?" He turned to look at me, "We've had enough for one night. I'll call a driver asap, we're leaving." He took my hands pulled me towards the entrance and to the car, pausing beside it to make a phone call as I tried to recollect myself.
That face. That scent.
I must have imagined the face, but that sent was hers. I hadn't imagined that.
My mate.
She must have been in that club. She must have been there. I could smell her.
But what if I was just imagining the whole thing? What if it was all in my head?
I shook my head, refusing to see this as nothing short of a breakthrough. A nudge in the right direction. A sign from the moon goddess that I have been waiting for, for decades.
I will find her. Sooner or later.
It was a quick drive back to my estate, seeing as my home was very close to the club.
Although it was past 1 am in the morning, the lights inside were still on and I knew Nancy must have given up on waiting for me to arrive. Seemed like Nancy and the other workers had already left for their rooms because the entire living room was empty.
I walked towards the kitchen– almost staggering – to get a glass of water. My mouth was parched and dried up like I had swallowed a bucket of sand.
Nathan was right behind me.
I still felt weird about what I had almost done earlier. I couldn't have imagined what would happen if I marked someone that wasn't my mate.
That was werewolf law. You are not to mark someone who isn't your mate or else punishment will be given. And you do not want to know what kind of punishment awaits.
Damn. I shouldn’t have had so much alcohol.
I was desperate and I knew it. I needed to find her. I needed to find her soon before I lose it and commit a taboo.
I shivered. I fetched the water from a compartment on the door of my massive fridge. It was a rare design that I saw on one of my trips to Berlin. I immediately fell in love with it and bought it right away. It was embedded inside the wall in my kitchen.
"Move over," Nathan walked over to me and shoved me playfully, and the water spilled on my shirt.
"Now? How much of a moron can you get?" I scoffed.
"Oh! So I'm the moron now huh? Says the idiot that almost marked a total stranger" he charged.
"You can't use that against me, dickhead!" I wanted to fling my cap on his head.
"Yes, I can! And I will! You had better watch your mouth." he smirked and turned to get his water.
"I hate you and I hope you choke on your water and die a miserable death." I threw a nearby napkin at him.
He laughed like the evil maniac bastard that he was.
I decided to get back to work to take my mind off the horribly embarrassing memory and check if my secretary had emailed the minutes of the meeting and the legal documents back to me so that I could cross-check and leave my signature on the documents.
"Hey, hey, where are you going?!" Nathan called out when he saw me heading to my office. "Room's that way, asshole!"
I groaned, "I know, I know, I have to get some work done."
"Nuh uh! No way in hell, man! It's two in the fucking morning. Get some rest, tomorrow is another day."
I opened my mouth to say something.
"And DON'T YOU DARE SAY; I'll rest when I'm in my grave!" He snapped.
I snapped my mouth shut.
"Shower! Bed! Now!" He reiterated
I sighed, making a beeline to my room and since I had already taken a bath earlier this evening, I decided to ignore the bubbling jacuzzi take a shower this time around.
Standing in the shower stall, I soaped and scrubbed myself clean, washing off the sweat and grime of the club.
I got out after a few minutes and toweled myself dry, wrapping a bathrobe around myself. My bathroom was massive and my walk-in closet was right beside it. Those were my favorite part of the room.
I walked into the closet and immediately, the sight of Prada, silk, trousers, scarves, sweatpants, sportswear, shoes, belts, and other accessories greeted me.
I believed in style and I believed in class and my closet was a testament to that fact.
My clothes were arranged in an array of colors, my diamond wristwatches, necklaces, and cuff links on careful displays. Shoes of different brands hung from the racks and even my most mundane clothes had a designer label slapped on them.
I dressed in comfortable nightwear and collapsed on my bed, the thought of what happened earlier flashed before my eyes once again and I groaned loudly.
I rolled onto my back and covered my face with a pillow and screamed into it.
"Somebody kill me now" I muttered.
"Oh, I would be honored to do so. Go to bed idiot!" Nathan shouted from outside my door.
I threw my pillow at it.
"Leave me the fuck alone Nathan. How did you even hear me? I whispered!" I shouted back.
"I'm sure you did!" he shouted as he shut his door with a loud bang.
Fucktard. I sighed and forced myself to go to sleep, a smile on my face, for once.
Thank the heavens for that fucktard that just saved me from making a big mistake.
It was a blur from then on.They whipped me with whips laced in silver, fed me Aurum and argentum and made me inhale wolfesbane, the grounded petals of a flower that attacked our cardio vascular system. They flogged me with silver studded sticks and kicked me with silver soled shoes and stabbed at me and poked fun at me and laughed at me.Maddie was struggling so hard in her seat, crying and begging in mumbles for them to stop.I was weak. My eyes were closing. I could have died any second...And then, i heard a growl so gutteral, so beast like, from the other side of the room, in the direction where Maddie was.At first, I thought that it was all in my head, because no no no... It cannot be.But the others fell silent and stopped their assault on me.Maddie was growling, deep in her throat, her eyes were flashing yellow with beast like slits as pupils. Fur sprouted out of her skin. She seemed to grow bigger and bigger on the seat and stood on her feet, still tied to the chair, and ke
daysPov: WinstonIt took me a while to rouse to consciousness. Gwyn had been the first one to wake and porge the sleeping pills out of her system, because she had the lightest weight and then, she made a disgustingly smelling potion and held it up at each of our noses, to wake us up too.And so, that was how I woke up to a pungent, egg smelling potion bomb, exploding in my nose.I looked up at the grim faces of my best friends, together with Cerulean and Lapis' worried gazes and wondered what the fuck their problems were. Why were they in my room, looking at me like that? I turned to my side to ask Maddie if she was seeing what I was seeing... And had the shock of my life.Maddie's side of the bed was empty. "Where is she?!" I had growled desperately."We don't know," Gwyn had whispered, "but from the looks of it, she had drugged us and ran away.""What?!" A tremor shook my spine. I was up and out of the bed immediately, tugging on a shirt and pants and grabbing my car keys, a mill
The ghost of a smile stayed on my lips but as I continued the story, my smile dropped and fell from my face. "I stayed with Mr Winston for a while, but one day, I decided to go back home to get the rest of my things and really leave for the last time... Or at least, the last time before I start the divorce process... My husband. He was a raging angry drunk that night. There was a party playing in the apartment and I had already packed my things but he cornered me and... And he..." my voice shook.Olivia looked at me worriedly, her beautiful face twisted into a concerned scowl.I took a deep breath. "He beat me up, Olivia."A shocked gasp escaped her lungs."Yeahhh... Winston kind of... Saved me that night, and took me away to one of his islands while I got healed up. He took care of me, Liv.""Like he should," she beamed at me. She suddenly froze, her eyes going wide. She snapped her fingers. "THAT'S why the two of you have not been at work lately!" She exclaimed, her eyes softening. "
AmbushPov: MaddisonIt was an entire month and half before I hatched my failproof plan. Before I got the motivation at all.I was able to sneak out of the Grand Mansion without Winston noticing that morning. It actually helped that I had taken charge of dinner and I may or may not have drugged everyone's food.I left the conservation at five in the morning, when Winston was still sleeping peacefully beside me, his arms around my waist, pulling me close and tugging him to his torso.I had made the call last night and the recipient was probably eagerly awaiting my return, back in the city... But I needed to do this right, and I didn't want any distracrions.I hadn't slept a wink last night, and we had talked and laughed and even made love and I swallowed a sigh of relief when the drugs began to take effect and his speech started slurring and he was mumbling and falling over his words. My eyes were wide open, i slid his arm away from my waist, slowly, quietly, just incase I had not give
see for yourself Pov: Winston "Drive me back to my mother's home," Maddie said, weak and exhausted as I held her quietly in the car. "But we just got back from there," i said confused. Nonetheless, I extracted myself from her body and strapped myself to the seat. She was quiet as I inputed the address information into the gps all over again and I understood why she would be so rattled. She had just lost her best friend. What I didn't understand was why she had suddenly stopped consoling Olivia, the moment she saw that thing on her phone. I was dying to know what it was. I was dying to let her let me in. But her end of the telepathic bond I shared with her had gone depressingly silent and cold. It took a while. Hours and hours and more frustrating hours on the road, but we finally got to her house. She stepped out of the car and looked at the stately brick house surrounded by a green lawn in front and green fields at the back. The front door had been smashed in, thanks to me,
The SetupPov: MaddisonSomething is wrong.Something is wrong.Something is terribly wrong. That was the sound track playing in my head when I roused from my sleep that night and checked my phone. It was almost eight o'clock. It was almost eight o'clock and I was still asleep.Any moment now, Ethan would knock on the door to inquire about why I wasn't down in the courtyard for the early morning jog.I never sleep this late in the mornings... Because, since the assault from William went down my mother always calls me up at seven in the mornings. But today, I didn't see her phone call."Winston!" I cried alarmed. "Winston, wake up," I begged, already sliding out of bed.He sat up, awake and alert immediately, searching my face frantically. "What happened, Maddie? Did anything happen to you?""Yes. I need you to drive me back to the city. I need to see my mother," I explained hurriedly as I slipped out of my nightdress and shimmied into a pair of jeans and tugged on a tank top.Winston
