All's well that ends well

Pov: Maddison

I stared at the floor to ceiling mirror, pinching myself.

This is real. This is very real.

The son of a billionaire tech tycoon is infatuated with you.

Wow.

Shawn had made good on his promise and at his command, I was served the most elaborate lunch I could think of. I was stuffed so full, I took a long long nap and when I woke up, I was convinced that I was still dreaming.

I'm not.

I reached into the finely designed china on my dresser and popped a macron in my mouth, chewing slowly and relishing the taste.

I could get used to this.

There was a knock on my door and I stood up from where I was sitting at my vanity to answer the door.

"Mr Winston!" I gasped when I opened the door to see who it was.

He was right in front of me, in flesh and blood, wearing only a black T-shirt and black cotton pants. His dark hair was a stylish mess of curls on top his head and he looked like he just got out of the shower.

He stepped inside, inviting hi

To make an entrancePov: MaddisonA knock on my door roused me awake.I stared around in initial confusion at first, realizing that my room was dark and empty and I was alone in bed.I remember falling asleep in Mr Winston's arms, talking about everything that had been bothering me this past few days, getting the mountain off my chest. And he had been so kind and patient, stroking my hair, wiping my tears, rubbing my arms. But all that seemed to be like a distant memory. A fever dream. Something I had imagined or thought up.Because why the hell will my own boss come up here just to comfort me? I definitely dreamt that shit up. I gathered myself, clutched my robe around my chest and walked to the door, pulling in open.Alice stood in front of me in all of her graceful, elegant beauty. She was dressed in the Vanderbilt Tower customized white and gold robe, her hair was in a bonnet and her arms were laddened with designer bags and clothes in clothe bags. There were a few hotel assista

Not like most menPov: WinstonI was only deceiving myself. I was putting on a damn show and managing to convince everyone that I was interested in Alice when everything in me was screaming to wrench Maddie from Shawn's side and hold her hand and hold on to her and show her off to the world and have her by my side.I had managed to convince Alice. Shawn. Every single person in this room. Heck, even Maddie...Everyone but myself. And that made me a fraud. That made me a liar. That made me a fucking coward. And the pain. Oh God, the pain I had felt. The pain that attacked every nerve in my body was almost crippling. And if this was what she felt... If this was what she was feeling... Then I was killing her.I was carving her chest open and ripping out her beating heart and shattering it in my clenched fists.I was destroying her.And that didn't just make me a fraud. That didn't just make me a liar. That didn't just make me a fucking coward...It made me a sadistic murderer too.Why was

Chapter 38: special requestPov: WinstonI was in a private meeting with a group of other trusted business men, gathered in a conference room, having a conversation with the tech tycoon giant himself.Mr Zachary Vanderbilt.By his sides were his two children. The elegant Allison Sharon Vanderbilt and the asshole Shawn Abel Vanderbilt.Allison... or Alice, as she was usually called, was poised and composed by her father's side, listening attentively to what everyone had to say, even offering her own two cents and imploring to her father on people's behalf once in a while.I could see her becoming the next magnate of Van–Tech and ruling with a graceful hand. Her twin brother on the other hand...I growled lowly at him, unable to hold myself back.Motherfucking asshole. He was lounging in his swivelling chair, appearing nonchalant and disinterested, picking his nails and picking out flint from his clothes, some times, using his phone and appearing like he wasn't paying much attention.Bu

MatchmakingPov: Maddison.I ran into Mr Winston during the breakfast buffet.I saw him approaching me and turned around, walking the other way, intent on avoiding him."Maddison!" I heard him calling out to me.I squeezed my eyes shut and prayed to every angel and celestial being out there to help me avoid this. To help me avoid meeting him. To help avoid seeing his handsome fucking face.Because it's not fair! It's not fair he has to affect me like this! It's not fair that I cried myself to sleep that night over a broken heart like I was in fucking highschool! It's not fair at all.His hands clasped around my wrist.I froze.I am a block of ice. A statue built of stone. I couldn't move even if I tried."I was calling you!"I squeezed my eyes tighter. His voice... Did always sound sooo... Good? Deep and smooth and sexy."I didn't hear you," I choked out, my knees, threatening to give out beneath me.Pathetic. Pathetic Maddie."Are you okay?" He was in front of me now. Grey grey eyes

The Vanderbilt shamPov: MaddisonI was still spitting and cursing by the time I reached the door to my room. I searched my pockets for my key card, found it and slid it across the slot and pushed the door open, muttering swear words and choice expletives at a certain grey eyed demon.I crashed into my bed and took up a pillow, screaming into it for a straight one minute."Woah. Who got on your bad side?" A voice chuckled close by.I looked up at Shawn, smiling down gently on me.I wiped an embarrassed arm across my face self–consciously, wiping my tears. "What are you doing here? How did you get in here?""How I got in here, the door was wide open," he pointed to the door, "what I'm doing here..." He shoved his hands in his pockets, appearing bashful. "I was going out with some of my friends later tonight, for a drink at this exclusive night club. I wanted to check in and see if you would like to come with us. You look like you could use a good night out."I looked up apologetically

Girls just Wanna have funPov: Maddison. You know what?! Fuck Mr Winston! And his stupid ass who thinks he can tell me what I can and cannot do with my nights, with my body, with my friends. How dare he threaten me with my position in ASOS for a trivial war he was pitting against the son of the owner of the tech giant? That was unfair and low of him. I didn't owe him anything outside of work and he had no right to tell me to sit in my room when I wanted to go out with Shawn and his friends tonight.I was so pumped up and ready to go a few moments ago, but standing in front of the full length mirror, inspecting my outfit, I started to reconsider the whole thing.I was wearing the sexiest, most risque dress I have ever worn, a pure white body con dress with halter strings that tied around my neck, a neckline that dipped almost to my navel and and my back was on display and the dress stopped just below my butt. My heels were sky high bright red suede wedge heels, the tallest pair of of

Shots fired POV: Maddison We had been transported to another world. It was a decked out basement with high walls and higher ceilings and also a good vent system because the entire place wasn't hot or stuffy yet. There was loud music playing, a remix of Travis Scott, I'm sure. The entire room was awash in purple, blue and red neon lights, party disco lights and streamers were strewn on the floor. There were ornate couches to sit on, and booths if you wanted more privacy. Most of the booths were empty and a few people were sitting on the couches, getting a lap dance or smoking and drinking. There was also an upstair that was currently not as crowded as the ground floor was at the moment. There was a perfectly stocked bar at the end of the room to our left, at the up corner, the dj booth was pulsing where the dj was remixing song with his gear and headphones, spinning the wheel and hyping up the crowd. I think the crowd of people were what shocked me the most. I was expecting perf

Better than Revenge Pov: Winston *Two hours earlier* I deserved an asshole of the year award for what I had made Maddie go through. I promised myself that I'd change, that I wouldn't be so hot–cold with her, but heaven knows I was trying... I was trying not to lose hold of my sanity. I was trying to put myself together, but the moment something came and threatened that peace I was steadily trying to build up and secure, I fell like a pack of cards. I was lying in my bed staring up at the ceiling, the reports and history books I had been reading lay strewn around me, the calculations I had been making in my head were long gone and muddled together now. Her face. Her eyes. Her tears. Her lips trembling. Begging me to not do this to her. Her eyes filled with hate and loathe, after I got what I wanted from her. With any luck, she was still back in her room, sleeping the pain off and I was here hurting for what I had put her through. I had pondered on what she had told me... the poss

They flogged me with silver studded sticks and kicked me with silver soled shoes and stabbed at me and poked fun at me and laughed at me.Maddie was struggling so hard in her seat, crying and begging in mumbles for them to stop.I was weak. My eyes were closing. I could have died any second...And then, i heard a growl so gutteral, so beast like, from the other side of the room, in the direction where Maddie was.At first, I thought that it was all in my head, because no no no... It cannot be.But the others fell silent and stopped their assault on me.Maddie was growling, deep in her throat, her eyes were flashing yellow with beast like slits as pupils. Fur sprouted out of her skin. She seemed to grow bigger and bigger on the seat and stood on her feet, still tied to the chair, and ke

daysPov: WinstonIt took me a while to rouse to consciousness. Gwyn had been the first one to wake and porge the sleeping pills out of her system, because she had the lightest weight and then, she made a disgustingly smelling potion and held it up at each of our noses, to wake us up too.And so, that was how I woke up to a pungent, egg smelling potion bomb, exploding in my nose.I looked up at the grim faces of my best friends, together with Cerulean and Lapis' worried gazes and wondered what the fuck their problems were. Why were they in my room, looking at me like that? I turned to my side to ask Maddie if she was seeing what I was seeing... And had the shock of my life.Maddie's side of the bed was empty. "Where is she?!" I had growled desperately."We don't know," Gwyn had whispered, "but from the looks of it, she had drugged us and ran away.""What?!" A tremor shook my spine. I was up and out of the bed immediately, tugging on a shirt and pants and grabbing my car keys, a mill

The ghost of a smile stayed on my lips but as I continued the story, my smile dropped and fell from my face. "I stayed with Mr Winston for a while, but one day, I decided to go back home to get the rest of my things and really leave for the last time... Or at least, the last time before I start the divorce process... My husband. He was a raging angry drunk that night. There was a party playing in the apartment and I had already packed my things but he cornered me and... And he..." my voice shook.Olivia looked at me worriedly, her beautiful face twisted into a concerned scowl.I took a deep breath. "He beat me up, Olivia."A shocked gasp escaped her lungs."Yeahhh... Winston kind of... Saved me that night, and took me away to one of his islands while I got healed up. He took care of me, Liv.""Like he should," she beamed at me. She suddenly froze, her eyes going wide. She snapped her fingers. "THAT'S why the two of you have not been at work lately!" She exclaimed, her eyes softening. "

AmbushPov: MaddisonIt was an entire month and half before I hatched my failproof plan. Before I got the motivation at all.I was able to sneak out of the Grand Mansion without Winston noticing that morning. It actually helped that I had taken charge of dinner and I may or may not have drugged everyone's food.I left the conservation at five in the morning, when Winston was still sleeping peacefully beside me, his arms around my waist, pulling me close and tugging him to his torso.I had made the call last night and the recipient was probably eagerly awaiting my return, back in the city... But I needed to do this right, and I didn't want any distracrions.I hadn't slept a wink last night, and we had talked and laughed and even made love and I swallowed a sigh of relief when the drugs began to take effect and his speech started slurring and he was mumbling and falling over his words. My eyes were wide open, i slid his arm away from my waist, slowly, quietly, just incase I had not give

see for yourself Pov: Winston "Drive me back to my mother's home," Maddie said, weak and exhausted as I held her quietly in the car. "But we just got back from there," i said confused. Nonetheless, I extracted myself from her body and strapped myself to the seat. She was quiet as I inputed the address information into the gps all over again and I understood why she would be so rattled. She had just lost her best friend. What I didn't understand was why she had suddenly stopped consoling Olivia, the moment she saw that thing on her phone. I was dying to know what it was. I was dying to let her let me in. But her end of the telepathic bond I shared with her had gone depressingly silent and cold. It took a while. Hours and hours and more frustrating hours on the road, but we finally got to her house. She stepped out of the car and looked at the stately brick house surrounded by a green lawn in front and green fields at the back. The front door had been smashed in, thanks to me,

The SetupPov: MaddisonSomething is wrong.Something is wrong.Something is terribly wrong. That was the sound track playing in my head when I roused from my sleep that night and checked my phone. It was almost eight o'clock. It was almost eight o'clock and I was still asleep.Any moment now, Ethan would knock on the door to inquire about why I wasn't down in the courtyard for the early morning jog.I never sleep this late in the mornings... Because, since the assault from William went down my mother always calls me up at seven in the mornings. But today, I didn't see her phone call."Winston!" I cried alarmed. "Winston, wake up," I begged, already sliding out of bed.He sat up, awake and alert immediately, searching my face frantically. "What happened, Maddie? Did anything happen to you?""Yes. I need you to drive me back to the city. I need to see my mother," I explained hurriedly as I slipped out of my nightdress and shimmied into a pair of jeans and tugged on a tank top.Winston

Heart to HeartPov: MaddisonAfter the study and books aspect was out of the way, I found out that I actually looked forward to Gwyn's lessons the most.I was currently sitting cross-legged, high up on a cliff, eyes closed, facing the setting sun.I felt her presence all around me, her voice was soft and delicate as she explained to me the basics of the technique she had used on Nathan that time."Chakra is a Sanskrit word and it means “disk” or “wheel” and it represents the various energy centers in your body. These wheels or disks of spinning energy each correspond to certain nerve bundles and major organs. To function at their best, your chakras need to stay open, or balanced. If they get blocked, you may experience physical or emotional symptoms related to a particular chakra."There are seven main chakras that run along your spine. They start at the base, of your spine and extend to the crown of your head. But these are only your main chakra points where energy is gathered in the

fighting stancePov: MaddisonEthan was a brutal taskmaster. Cold and calculating and belting out orders, pushing me to my max.I had changed my diet to contain more protein and carb contents as per Nathan's instructions and I had jogged and worked out and pushed my body to the extreme under Ethan's tutelage and Gwyn helped with my meditation and tutored me in basic human anatomy. The first day of my training with Ethan, I was a sweating, sobbing, puking, breathless mess on the floor of the sparring courtyard in the big house that was really the grandest mansion I had ever seen.On the fourth day, I wasn't doing much better, but at least, I had learned to throw a punch without causing much damage to myself, and I wasn't as breathless and winded after each early morning jog."You're punching all wrong," he told me in my first day. "When you hit your target, you want to strike with the first two knuckles, not that flat front part of your fist or the smaller knuckles on your ring or pink

I asked my best friend now, raising an amused brow.He looked at me, shocked at first, and then he caught on to the fact that I was actually smiling at him, and his lips stretched into a conniving grin that was so Nate... That grin that made him look like you two were in on a private joke or something. Even if he had no idea what you were talking about, his goofy grins made you think he did."Thanks, man," he said now, his voice turning serious as he went to perch on the raised steps to the boxing ring.
