Pov: Winston
"Winston, honey, brighten up," Gwyn tried to cheer me up as we took our seats in Osteria Francescana. She was wearing a very revealing dress that attracted a lot of attention and usually, I'd be pissed that my Omega had left the pack I originally left in her care, but right now, I just needed a familiar face to talk to.
"Nathan said you found your mate." Gwyn said.
"Nathan needs to learn to keep his mouth shut." I growled.
"Nathan said you found your mate," she repeated. "You should be celebrating, not looking like someone ran over your cat."
Office Rumours Pov: Maddison I was up early the next day, dressed up and out the door, successfully beating traffic. I did a little victory dance as I found a spot in the parking lot of the building, parked my car and got out of the vehicle, walking towards the building. I was off to a great start of a very nice day, seeing as I was one of the few people that arrived earlier than the required time. Take that! Mr Winston. "Nice shoes," Olivia commented on my ivory coloured silver encrusted prada slingback heels. I grinned, checking them out. "Thanks!" They were on sale last month and I had spent a fortune trying to acquire them. I couldn't let it slip through my fingers, so I had purchased them without a second thought. I walked to my workstation and arranged the plans and ideas I was supposed to pitch to the head of department that would improve production and sales of the brand. Most of my theiry included more variety, especially when it came to selecting models so that cons
Questions and answers. Pov: Winston It was six in the evening and I hated to admit that infuriating sound didn't bother me one bit. The tap tap tap sound of her typing on her laptop was more soothing than I'd like to admit. Sometimes... Often, I'd look up to see her sitting cross-legged on the rug in a corner of my office, typing away on the computer. Why was she sitting on the floor of my office? Why was she even in my office in the first place? I wanted to test out her typing speed and accuracy and gave her a fifty paged word document to retype, in my presence, because I didn't doubt that she could smother someone into doing it for her. She took the challenge without complain and i had told her to sit. To make herself comfortable, and by that, I meant that she should make herself comfortable on one of the plush couches in the lounge of my office. But she had gone and taken off her heels, sat on the floor in a corner of the room, folded and tucked in her legs under her and off
Chapter 15: Envy POV: Winston Something was wrong. Something was very wrong. Maddie wasn't replying to me requesting for her in my via the intercom. I rapped my hand on my desk, unsure if she was just toying with me or if she was really missing. I swallowed, pushed the button again and requested, "Maddison? Maddison Skye. I need you in my office immediately." I waited. And waited. And waited. Now, usual Maddie would have commented something snarky, like; Yes, your highness or Yes, your majesty or Whatever the king wants or even Your wish is my command. Or something sarcastic like, Yes sir, right away sir. Or I'm coming. You will see me immediately. And of course, take a while to come up to my office. I would hear her purposely dragging her feet sluggishly across the hallway and come up with a snarky greeting at poor Anna. But in everything, she'd always answer her call, albeit more annoying than a normal employee, but still. I looked forward to hearing from her. Deciding I
Chapter 16: Conservation POV: Winston I was driving to the conservation I had bought and paid for and marked as my Territory where the rest of my pack were allowed to grow and wander in absolute safety within the boundaries. I sighed, partly in relief, partly in nostalgia as I crossed through the boundary marking the beginning of my territory and drove into this grounds I've known since I was a pup. Generations of Gales had succeeded as alphas of the Blood Moon Pack, one of the most formidable werewolf packs in the west coast region. My father took over from my grandfather and I took over from my father. My chest throbbed in pain and my hands tightened around the steering wheel, five fingers curling around the wheel and clenching hard. It hurt. It hurt so bad. Everything I had to do to survive. Every terrible thing I had to do to make sure I succeeded my father as alpha. No amount of grace can wash the stain of the blood on my hands and it took me a while but I could finally li
Teach Pov: Maddison I found that pretty blonde woman that I once saw hanging out with Winston. She was in my cubicle, leaning against my desk, reading a book. She was wearing a pretty white blouse that was almost see through and made her milk white skin glow brighter. Her skirt was cinched around her tiny waist. Her hair looked like it had been brushed so hard that it looked like polished gold, secured and tied up in a high ponytail. Her makeup was classy and subtle, some mascara, eyeliner, powder and lipgloss and her feet were cladded in chic boots. She had a slender, willowy figure that made her look so poised a delicate. I felt like a sewer rat in her presence. "Hey," I greeted tentatively, unsure of what she was even doing here. "You're in my... Workspace," I informed her as politely as I could hoping she wouldn't turn out to be another Anna. I like her initial aura and the soft warm vibes that I was getting from her so far. She looked up from the book she was reading, her
Dates from hell POV: Maddison I was standing awkwardly at a bustop, a few distance from the restaurant where I had decided that James met me for our little date thing. Luckily, I didn't have to explain any of this to my husband becsuse he had another one of his impromptu business trips and he'd be back tomorrow morning. William would go nuts if he knew that I was going on this colleague date thingie. He used to always gatekeep me from men after we started seeing in earnest, unconsciously cut me off from my friends and got me pregnant. Here I was today, childless, friendless and finally starting to branch out. I really didn't want to go and I felt super uncomfortable, but he had been hinting on how he was looking forward to it all week and I decided to just give in, just this once. I mean... He did fix my car. Only heaven knows what would have happened that day if he didn't find me in the parking lot. I was dressed down in converse shoes, denim shorts, a tshirt and sweatshirt on
Saved by the Gwyn POV: Maddison I called the tender and paid for my drinks, power walking the fuck out of there. James was fast on my heels. "Hey, Maddie, wait up!" He shouted, laughing and nearly tripping over himself as he tried to get to me. "No, you're drunk. Go home, James!" I called out, quickening my pace now because he was getting close to me. The streets were empty but thankfully, the street lamps offered enough light to help me navigate my way. I had thought it'd be best to have this 'date' as far away from my home as possible because I'd been having a bad feeling about James for a while now. I didn't want him following me and finding out where I lived. But it was about to turn back and bite me in the ass because I couldn't possibly run all the way back home now. Buses no longer operated at this time and I needed to stop at a safe distance to book an uber and I still had to wait for the uber to show up. What am I going to d– A hand clasped around my wrist and held me
friends and foes POV: Winston I had his records in my hands. James Edward Carter. The twenty eight year old, blonde hair blue eyed graduate from Brown. Something about that man rubbed me the wrong way and I had contacted the head of the acquisitions team to send me his files, records, reports from his former jobs, letters of recommendation and to get in contact with the referees he had placed in his application form. So far, two out of three of his referrals didn't exist and the third denied even knowing him. So far, the only thing credible about him was the fact that he hadgraduated from an Ivy League, his flawless academic records andnearly perfect GPA. His recommendation letters were fake and there were reports in his files stating that he had been suspected of stealing and selling intel from the software company he used to work at before and he was fired after a fellow colleague alleged that he had sexually assaulted her. I usually had a say in who was employed into my com
