sunset dreams

Pov: Winston

We took a walk down the private beach behind the beach house that day. It was the first time since we arrived here that she agreed to step out of the house and into the sun. The sand was hot between our toes and the sun warmed our backs as we talked and laughed and soaked in the sun.

Most of her scars and bruises were gone and she had dared to wear a skimpy two piece bikini and a large pink kimono trailed behind her.

We were holding hands and I was just happy to see her smiling, the wind blowing in her hair, her rose coloured cheeks. She had started eating and talking more and even poking fun at me again abd some of the Maddie I used to know no longer made fleeting appearances. They were now here to stay. I was happy she was getting back to her original self.

She had opened up about how she really felt and we had filed a police report when she was still bed ridden and now, she was more intent than ever in following through with the divorce.

puppy love and miraclesPov: MaddisonI roused awake the next morning with an ecstatic joy and hope in my heart that I couldn't shake off.We were on a beach house on a private island owned by Winston and the entire building featured an open plan concept, where from specific places in the house, you could see the sea and shore from the comfort of your room.Right now, I was stretched out in bed in nothing but my underwear, the silky white sheets cocooned around me like an embrace and cold, salty air from the sea blew into the room, caressing my cheeks. I smiled softly at all or nature, one of the first times I was genuinely happy, and grateful for being alive.I stretched out on the bed and sat up, scrambling out of bed, giddy with unnecessary happiness and joy in my veins. I felt like dancing. I felt like singing. I felt like screaming to the world about how happy I was.I slipped into one of Winston's plain white Tee that was so big on me, it dropped to my mid thighs and the collar

When... How?I swallowed and realized that I must be running completely mad. I turned to Maddie to ask if she was seeing what I was seeing and her deathly pale face like death told me everything I needed to know.I was staring at my beta. They had brought Nathan back to life.Except... Something was wrong. Something was horribly wrong. For starters, Nathan's hair had been more red than brown, a deep russet colour. But now, it was more brown than red, a deep bronze colour, his eyes were craftier than ever, that stubborn Daredevil glint in his shiny brown orbs. His face lacked the golden hue he used to have and he was now deathly pale with blue lips, but that must be because he hadn't had a decent dose of

"Oh," she cried. "Oh, Maddie. I'm sorry. I'm so so sorry."She ushered me into her home and sat with me on the plosh couch in the living room. She pulled me into another hug, exploding into another bout of tears as she held me to her, as she held me close. "I was so scared and so worried. So so worried," she whispered into the hug. "I almost... I almost showed up at your place after the fir

My fingers dug into my palms from fisting them too tight. "Answer it or he will suspect I'm here. Or he will come looking. Please, answer it. I don't want to look suspicious."She nodded and inhaled a deep breath, swallowing noisily as she answered the call, putting the call on loudspeaker."H... As her tears fell on deaf ears.I had been red with anger and shaking with wrath as I tore them to pieces and shredded the

Her big brown eyes looked at me as I buckled the seatbelt for her and slammed the door at her side.I rounded the car and got into my driver's seat, buckling my own seatbelt and starting the engine. I eased out of the driveway of mansion. It was early in the morning and I wanted to beat the Manhattan traffic. We were already in Long Island when she turned to me with those big innocent brown eyes, sitting up in her seat. "Where are you taking me?"I smiled to myself, enjoying her curiosity. "Just trust me, Maddie. Relax.""That's what they say before they take you to an unknown location and strip you of your guts."I winced, only just realizing how much I was asking for her to trust me.She had trusted her husband too.And that motherfucker had fucked her up and called his now dead friends to do the same.Just thinking about the bsstard left a bitter taste in my mouth. Self defensePov: MaddisonI had stayed locked up in my room for three days straight, avoiding Winston and the rest of the world around me.I didn't know how this mating bond worked, but It was causing me agonizing, physical pain to be seperated from him. To be at odds with him and my heart throbbed painfully every morning, afternoon and evening when he came around to check on me.I called my mother three times a day, just to assure her that I was fine and I was okay. And she called me three times more. Just to be sure that I was really safe and fine.Lapis usually came around to bring my food to me and I had been eating to my fill and drawing and trying not to think of the turmoil swirling inside of me.I was aware of movements of Cerulean and Lapis walking to and fro outside the door and keeping the mansion in order. And I was aware of the sparring matches that Gwyn, Nathan and Ethan engaged in just outside my window. Sometimes, I stood and watched and stared and stared at them and

I shrieked and hid behind one of the flamboyant potted plants, shaken and embarrassed from being found out. There was silence for a moment, I shifted in my hiding spot and peeked out from behind the plant. Not just Ethan anymore, but Ethan, Gwyn and Nathan were now looking at me. Right at me and grinning nicely and I let out an embarrassed squeak and dove back behind the plant and its protective giant leaves, back into my hiding spot."You can come out, Maddie," I recognized Nathan's happy, upbeat voice. "We don't bite."Ethan coughed into his hand, "sure as hell we do.""Oop, sorry, we don't bite sweet innocent girls we know and love, especially those that are fated to be with our best bud for ever and ever."My cheeks turned red and flushed with embarrassment and I slid out of my hiding spot now and stood awkwardly in t

My eyes were closing. I could have died any second...And then, i heard a growl so gutteral, so beast like, from the other side of the room, in the direction where Maddie was.At first, I thought that it was all in my head, because no no no... It cannot be.But the others fell silent and stopped their assault on me.Maddie was growling, deep in her throat, her eyes were flashing yellow with beast like slits as pupils. Gwyn had been the first one to wake and porge the sleeping pills out of her system, because she had the lightest weight and then, she made a disgustingly smelling potion and held it up at each of our noses, to wake us up too.And so, that was how I woke up to a pungent, egg smelling potion bomb, exploding in my nose.I looked up at the grim faces of my best friends, together with Cerulean and Lapis' worried gazes and wondered what the fuck their problems were. Why were they in my room, looking at me like that? I turned to my side to ask Maddie if she was seeing what I was seeing... And had the shock of my life.Maddie's side of the bed was empty. "Where is she?!" I had growled desperately."We don't know," Gwyn had whispered, "but from the looks of it, she had drugged us and ran away.""What?!" A tremor shook my spine. I was up and out of the bed immediately, tugging on a shirt and pants and grabbing my car keys, a mill

"I stayed with Mr Winston for a while, but one day, I decided to go back home to get the rest of my things and really leave for the last time... Or at least, the last time before I start the divorce process... My husband. He was a raging angry drunk that night. There was a party playing in the apartment and I had already packed my things but he cornered me and... And he..." my voice shook.Olivia looked at me worriedly, her beautiful face twisted into a concerned scowl.I took a deep breath. "He beat me up, Olivia."A shocked gasp escaped her lungs."Yeahhh... Before I got the motivation at all.I was able to sneak out of the Grand Mansion without Winston noticing that morning. It actually helped that I had taken charge of dinner and I may or may not have drugged everyone's food.I left the conservation at five in the morning, when Winston was still sleeping peacefully beside me, his arms around my waist, pulling me close and tugging him to his torso.I had made the call last night and the recipient was probably eagerly awaiting my return, back in the city... But I needed to do this right, and I didn't want any distracrions.I hadn't slept a wink last night, and we had talked and laughed and even made love and I swallowed a sigh of relief when the drugs began to take effect and his speech started slurring and he was mumbling and falling over his words. My eyes were wide open, i slid his arm away from my waist, slowly, quietly, just incase I had not give

Nonetheless, I extracted myself from her body and strapped myself to the seat. She was quiet as I inputed the address information into the gps all over again and I understood why she would be so rattled. She had just lost her best friend. What I didn't understand was why she had suddenly stopped consoling Olivia, the moment she saw that thing on her phone. I was dying to know what it was. I was dying to let her let me in. But her end of the telepathic bond I shared with her had gone depressingly silent and cold. It took a while. Hours and hours and more frustrating hours on the road, but we finally got to her house. She stepped out of the car and looked at the stately brick house surrounded by a green lawn in front and green fields at the back. The front door had been smashed in, thanks to me,

The SetupPov: MaddisonSomething is wrong.Something is wrong.Something is terribly wrong. That was the sound track playing in my head when I roused from my sleep that night and checked my phone. It was almost eight o'clock. It was almost eight o'clock and I was still asleep.Any moment now, Ethan would knock on the door to inquire about why I wasn't down in the courtyard for the early morning jog.I never sleep this late in the mornings... Because, since the assault from William went down my mother always calls me up at seven in the mornings. But today, I didn't see her phone call."Winston!" I cried alarmed. "Winston, wake up," I begged, already sliding out of bed.He sat up, awake and alert immediately, searching my face frantically. "What happened, Maddie? Did anything happen to you?""Yes. I need you to drive me back to the city. I need to see my mother," I explained hurriedly as I slipped out of my nightdress and shimmied into a pair of jeans and tugged on a tank top.Winston

Heart to HeartPov: MaddisonAfter the study and books aspect was out of the way, I found out that I actually looked forward to Gwyn's lessons the most.I was currently sitting cross-legged, high up on a cliff, eyes closed, facing the setting sun.I felt her presence all around me, her voice was soft and delicate as she explained to me the basics of the technique she had used on Nathan that time."Chakra is a Sanskrit word and it means “disk” or “wheel” and it represents the various energy centers in your body. These wheels or disks of spinning energy each correspond to certain nerve bundles and major organs. To function at their best, your chakras need to stay open, or balanced. If they get blocked, you may experience physical or emotional symptoms related to a particular chakra."There are seven main chakras that run along your spine. They start at the base, of your spine and extend to the crown of your head. But these are only your main chakra points where energy is gathered in the

Cold and calculating and belting out orders, pushing me to my max.I had changed my diet to contain more protein and carb contents as per Nathan's instructions and I had jogged and worked out and pushed my body to the extreme under Ethan's tutelage and Gwyn helped with my meditation and tutored me in basic human anatomy. The first day of my training with Ethan, I was a sweating, sobbing, puking, breathless mess on the floor of the sparring courtyard in the big house that was really the grandest mansion I had ever seen.On the fourth day, I wasn't doing much better, but at least, I had learned to throw a punch without causing much damage to myself, and I wasn't as breathless and winded after each early morning jog."You're punching all wrong," he told me in my first day. "When you hit your target, you want to strike with the first two knuckles, not that flat front part of your fist or the smaller knuckles on your ring or pink

I asked my best friend now, raising an amused brow.He looked at me, shocked at first, and then he caught on to the fact that I was actually smiling at him, and his lips stretched into a conniving grin that was so Nate... That grin that made him look like you two were in on a private joke or something. Even if he had no idea what you were talking about, his goofy grins made you think he did."Thanks, man," he said now, his voice turning serious as he went to perch on the raised steps to the boxing ring.
