THIRD PERSON’S POV

The female officer standing in the front of the building saluted as detective Green, coffee in hand approached the yellow taped area.

“Good morning officer” Detective Green said

“Beautiful morning to you too, detective; I hope you had a good night’s rest?”

“I was just about to get started on the sleeping thing when I got the call; so what do we have?”

“I haven’t seen a crime scene this gruesome in a long time sir and I do not have words to quite describe it…you will have to see it yourself” the officer said as she lifted the tape for Green to proceed into the building.

“What do you think happened here?” He asked as they entered into the elevator

“Probably a gang war or something you know how it goes with these guys they are always killing each other for one reason or the other.”

“Who is on the scene?”

“The question should be who isn’t” she replied as the elevator doors opened to a crowded hallway filled with different uniformed personnel moving around taking pictures and asking questions to the people in the other rooms of the hotel.

“You have got to be kidding me?” Green swore as he stepped out of the elevator and made his way to the third room on the floor; the room with the most cops at the door.

As he finally got through, the stench of the bodies hit him.

He had been to many crime scenes in his four years as an officer but he would never get used to the smell of rotten corpses. His eyes surveyed the room as he took in the crime scene, searching for every detail he could find in the room.

There were four bodies; three in the center of the room and one smashed through a glass table in the corner. No signs of forced entry on the door that means they willingly let whoever did this into the hotel room themselves or maybe the perpetrators let themselves in on their own.

He took a couple of steps into the room turning around so his eyes could take in more.

“No CCTV camera in the room, if that is what you are looking for…hotel policy” his partner who was looking at a glass cup on the table close to the window said… “Very nice of you to finally grace us with your presence” she murmured, her head bent

“I got the call barely 2 hours ago”

“So did we all” Analisse muttered, grabbing the coffee from his hand

That is not yours; he started to say and then stopped as she took a huge gulp of it while he watched. She did it all the time and it wasn’t just worth it to humor her anymore.

“So what do we have here?”

“A crime scene” Analisse responded, her words dripping sarcasm

Michael Green had worked with Analisse as his partner for the two years, he had been a detective and he had not still gotten used to her sarcastic responses.

He rolled his eyes at her and bent down beside the three bodies, poking gently

“He is definitely dead if that is what you are trying to determine”

“Not a word from you, Analisse” Michael growled

She makes a zipping motion with her fingers to her mouth but kept silent

“Do we know who these guys are?” Michael asked, sighing as he turned another body over

“Nope, not yet; the forensics team was here earlier and took their fingerprints but they are yet to get back to us” she responded

“By the look of their bodies they have been dead for some days now”

“Yeah, the hotel employees reported it in when the cleaner came for her morning rounds and the stench was unbearable and no one opened the door when she knocked”

Michael lifted the hands of one of the bodies and rolled down the sleeves to reveal a snake tattoo.

“They are definitely not from around here that is for sure” he said showing the tattoo to Analisse.

“I didn’t think so too and they also had no IDs on them. I don’t recognize anyone of them from the database we have on the criminals in this city and hotel staff confirmed that they checked in some days ago and their suitcases had plane tickets on it”

“Fantastic so we are dealing with new players that most likely just got into town and now they are dead; that is not good for anybody” Michael commented

“Exactly and what bothers me though is that there was no buzz about this on the streets, nothing at all”

“So no one knew they were in town and no one knows they are dead?”

“Maybe they are not big players here”

“Someone went through the trouble of killing them, they must be relevant to something and whoever did this is highly skilled”

“How do you know that?”

“For one; the way this hit was carried out, it was very precise no wasted motions or bullets. See how every body has just one bullet in it?” he asked, pointing at the bodies… “They have mostly headshot wounds, making sure that none of them would survive. I do not think this hit was carried out by a group of persons; I think only one man killed them all”

“That is a really farfetched theory” His partner muttered skeptically

“It is a theory but when have I ever been wrong?”

She stared at him as he walked around taking in the crime scene. He had definitely grown into this detective role over the years. She remembered the first time they met and how timid he had been; look at him now, prancing around having theories of his own.

A slight smile grew on her face as she shook her head.

She turned to address the young officer that was just entering the room.

“Have you been able to access the security footage for the hotel lobby and corridors?”

“No ma’am, there was nothing to check in the footage.”

“What do you mean by nothing to check?”

“There is no footage for the week on the servers.”

“Hey Michael, come and hear this” she called out.

Michael crossed over to where she stood

“Repeat what you said to me” she said

“All the footage for the week has been wiped clean and the security officer claims he has no idea of what happened” the officer repeated

“I want to talk to that security guard, get him here now” Michael snapped

They both watched the officer leave right before Michael turned, pinning his partner with a wide grin

“Still think that theory is farfetched?”

After a short period of silence Mateo spoke three words that left his brother in shock“I don’t care.”“You don’t what?”“Yes Alejandro, I do not care that Diego is coming back.” He said it so calmly this time as Alejandro watched the hate he had just seen in his eyes a couple of seconds ago completely vanish. “I have nothing to do with him and as long as he does not bother me on my island of solitude I am fine, I do not want to get dragged in again.”It had just dawned on Alejandro that he had been totally wrong on the prediction of his brothers reaction to the news, he had expected him to be more angry maybe throw some furniture or at least put up a significant fight in the matter but he sat right there in front of him as calm as a body of water that had not just been troubled.Mateo’s calmness made Alejandro extremely uncomfortable“So in essence what you are telling me is you will not be taking my side in this fight against our brother.”As Alejandro kept on talking about how the

IRENE There he was standing in front of me, it had almost been two weeks but his face was tattooed in my mind's eye, his perfectly sculpted face and dark eyes that gazed deep into your soul as if looking to drag out every inner secret you have ever had. The black shirt and trouser he had on complemented his chiseled body beautifully and I kept looking at his chest through the space left by the two unbuttoned buttons For a second I was frozen as I kept looking at his face in shock, so many questions kept racing in my mind. Who was he? Why was he here? Why was I here? I couldn’t think of an actual answer to all these questions so I just stood there staring as all the naughty thoughts I had been having with this guy in my mind for the past days came flooding in. I was helpless. “Earth to Irene, why are you just standing there?” I heard Tony say as I snapped back to reality finally averting my gaz

I had just been watching through screens and pictures that my guys delivered to me.There was this feeling in my belly when we stood barely centimeters away from each other it felt like I should reach out and grab her right there and then, I hadn’t felt that way in a while, it was the same thing at the house the other day. When I got to the ground floor of the building I saw the receptionist shoot me a smile and adjust her hair, she had done the same thing when I entered some minutes ago. It’s something I knew I could act on and in a few days she’d be waking up in bed with me but now was not the time for that, I had to be focusing all my efforts on getting back home and to be quite honest since I met Irene again physically I hadn’t been in the mood to be with someone else.I had

It took a few seconds for my brain to fully process what had happened and accept the fact that we were upside down in the car. We had been run over and I could hear the faint voices of the men talking outside as they seemed to walk towards us. I looked to my front to check on Pietro my driver and it was obvious just by looking that he was in worse shape than I was. “Pietro wake the fuck up.” I shouted while unhooking the seat belt I had on, I was fond of wearing the belt no matter where I sat this might have just been what had saved me from certain death. The belt hook finally came down and I dropped to the roof of the car which was now on the ground, I reached out to where Pietro was and finally realized why he wasn’t answering m

For six years, he had clung to the hope of bringing his daughter back to the loving arms of her mother, his beloved wife.As he gently pushed the door open, his eyes immediately fell upon the touching scene that unfolded before him. IRENEAs the truck rumbled through the bumpy roads, my heart pounded like a relentless drum. I struggled against my restraints, desperate to free myself from the clutches of my captors. This feeling of helplessness was something I despised so much, why was I always the one that ended up in these types of situations. None of my captors spoke a word to me despite all my yells and struggles, they just contained me at the back of the truck and continued driving. I couldn’t help but think about how Diego was faring, I was sure he would come for me. He definitely would. The thought of having to rely on him to get me out of trouble made me sick in the stomach, he was not going to be some knight in shining armor coming to save some defenseless princess every single time. I instinctively reached up to touch my head, feeling the tender spot where I had been struck. The skin was sensitive to the touch, and I winced at the discomfort it caused. My fingers came away slightly sticky, and I realized there was a faint trace of blood on the fingertips. As I attempted to sit up, a wave of dizziness washed over me, causing me to hesitate. The pain in my head intensified, causing me to wince again. Slowly, I steadied myself , trying to regain my bearings. This was standard following practice, keep a distance and observe until it was time to strike or something. My mind kept on wondering if it was just me being overly cautious and there was nothing there perhaps just the fear of being back in the city when things had not been fully sorted out but then again I was never wrong about things like this and it was better to be safe than sorry. He had to swiftly and strongly place his feet down and take control or else all he had done to be in this position would have been a waste. He stared at the multitude of screens before him, displaying the faces of his extended family and members of the organization, the branches that had scattered like fallen leaves in the aftermath of the devastating blast. They had lost over 20 people in that fire and barely 24 hours later there were already struggles for power and factions were being assembled to seize power. His power.
