Margret nodded but she was still crying and tearing up, she cried till late hours and later slept off in the sitting room.
The next morning, news media gathered around Millicent's home, the commotion outside was so great that the two tired friends were awakened by it.
Millicent peered through the window "The media are here for you, Margret"
Margret wasn't surprised, she was expecting it, uprising artists in Jing Entertainment were awaiting such a moment to trample all over her.
"Margret, I don't think they are going to leave anytime soon, you have to stay here, and hide from them" Millicent suggested, Margret, nodded in acceptance.
The noise coming from outside didn't quieten down the entire day, Millicent sneaked out of the house and purchased a lot of groceries at night.
Margret stood up immediately after she saw Millicent return, "were you able to fix my phone? I want to call Daniel, and also call my father"
Millicent shook her head, Margret's phone was damaged by the rain, "Margret, you can only buy a new phone, your phone couldn't be fixed, I will go get you a new one tomorrow"
Margret nodded in agreement and thanked her, the next day, Millicent returned home with a new phone.
"Here is it, I bought a new phone" Millicent informed her.
Margret thanked her, and quickly dialled Daniel's number, the moment the call connected, she said into the phone's receiver exasperatedly.
"Hello, Daniel, please don't hang up, listen to me"
She started hearing voices from the other end, she could recognize Daniel's voice and Brenda's voice.
"You are on call, Daniel, I think you have drank enough, let's go home, baby"
"I love you, Brenda" loud music was blaring in the background.
Margret's face was shock-ridden, she stared at the phone's screen in shock, and the call ended before she could regain her senses.
She tried calling, but, Daniel refused to pick up her call and blocked her directly, Millicent was unaware, she was in the kitchen preparing dinner.
She came out of the kitchen to see Margret heading towards the door, "hey, what do you think you are going out to do, Margret?"
She quickly ran over to Margret and stopped her from coming out, Millicent was shocked the moment she saw Margret's face.
"What happened to you? why are you crying, Margret? didn't you call Daniel?"
Margret knees buckled, and she sat down on the floor "I did, Millicent, Brenda is out to take everything away from me" she cried out.
Millicent went on her knees and comforted her "Margret, you don't have to cry over a jerk who doesn't worth it, if he is truly in love with you, he won't be hanging out with your sister, put yourself together, dear"
Margret shook her head, she lamented "you don't get it, Cent, I ruined the beautiful relationship that I and Daniel shared, Brenda, is just taking advantage of him, since I am not by his side, and he is mad at me, please, can you help me and go over to meet Daniel? explain things to him on my behalf"
Millicent would have rejected her directly, but she couldn't bring herself to crush the hope in Margret's eyes "I will do that"
"You are the best friend in the world" Margret praised, Millicent rolled her eyes, smiled and exited the house.
Margret waited anxiously for Millicent's return, the moment she came back, Margret sprang to her feet, "how did it go? did he accept me? has he forgiven me? is he outside waiting for me?"
Margret bombarded Millicent with so many questions.
Millicent embraced Margret, she knew her friend is going through a lot, losing her virginity to a stranger, and then being abandoned by those who claim to be her family.
Millicent couldn't tell Margret that she caught Daniel and Brenda kissing, "I didn't see him, Margret, I will go over to his office tomorrow"
Margret pulled out of the embrace, her eyebrows knitted tightly, she could tell Millicent was lying.
"You saw him right?" she asked directly.
Millicent hesitated "Margret, you should calm down"
Margret begged Millicent anxiously "what did he say? please, tell me, did he say he missed me? will he come? did he ask me to come over?"
Millicent heart broke when she saw that her friend is now mentally unstable "get a grip of yourself, Margret, I didn't see him, I will go to his office tomorrow"
Margret looked at Millicent sadly "why are you lying to me?"
Millicent retorted "I can't bring myself to tell you the truth, you will be heartbroken, and you will hate me for telling you the truth, just forget about Daniel, he isn't the only man in the world"
Margret was momentarily surprised, she covered her ears and yelled at Millicent "tell me, what the fuck did he say? and stop spouting nonsense?"
Her eyes reddened, and Millicent shook her head "I can't"
"why?"
"Because he is cheating on you with your sister, Margret, forget about him"
Margret gasped in shock, her entire body trembled and she staggered backwards, falling on the floor, she wailed loudly.
Millicent watched her friend cry with a sad face.
A few days later, Margret felt extremely tired, "are you alright, Margret?" Millicent asked with a concerned tone.
"I don't know, Millicent, I feel dizzy often" Margret complained, Millicent eyes widened in shock.
"Hold on" she excused herself, some minutes later, she brought a pregnancy kit.
Margret frowned while looking at it "what is it?"
Millicent handed it over to her "take this, just do it, don't ask questions"
Margret agreed reluctantly, she emerged later with the pregnancy test kit "here is it"
Colours drained from Millicent's face the moment she saw the result "you are pregnant, Margret"
Margret eyes widened in shock and she cried out "what did you just say, Millicent? how is that possible?"
Millicent didn't even know how to explain it to her friend "I can't be pregnant for that buffoon, I can't" Margret cried.
She hated the man ever since he came out publicly to ruin her music career.
The both of them remained silent for some time before Millicent suggested, "Margret, the test isn't one hundred per cent sure, how about we go to the hospital?"Margret eyes lit up, she sprang up on her feet and said anxiously. "you are right, Millicent, we can't be too sure that the test is true, let's quickly head to the hospital"Millicent sighed ruefully, she didn't expect Margret to buy such nonsense, Margret quickly dressed up, "Millicent, why are you still not ready? let's leave quickly"Millicent looked at her strangely "you can't go out like this, what if paparazzi discover you again, we will be in deep trouble"Margret looked at her and nodded "you are right, Millicent, I can't go out like this"Millicent could see the sorrow beneath Margret's eyes, but she hid it well, the two of them disguised themselves and went to the hospital by public transport. The moment the two of them arrived at the hospital, they went to the doctor's office, after a thorough test, both of them we
After Millicent called the police, she was taken to the police station for her report, in the end, the police promised her that they will look for her friend. Fifteen Years Later... The wind blew on Margret's face, she stood before the airport with her luggage, and two extremely eye-catching boys stood side by side. Some passerby took a sneak shot of her and her children, "mom, why are we still standing here, why ain't we moving our luggage?" Margret regained her senses. She had disguised herself judiciously, and over the years, she has grown her music career strong and has become an A-list celebrity. Even in her early thirties, she still looks like candy, and commands followers all over the world, she got a juicy offer from Houston from a renowned international company, so she decided to return home, and face her fear. She exhaled in relief, before boarding the plane with her sons. Nine hours later, the plane landed at Houston airport, the mother and son were leaving the airpor
The question made Charlie Jnr angrier, his frosty gaze lingering on Margret. Suddenly, a scream broke through the tense air: "Bliss!" Margret's attention was diverted from Charlie Jnr., and a small smile spread on her face. Right behind her, a group of people appeared, her manager, Klaus, leading them. "Bliss, why didn't you even call me before coming here? Am I still your manager?" Klaus asked, curling his lips into a frown. Despite being a male, Klaus was always dressed like a lady. Charlie Jr. watched Margret distractedly before he heard a whisper from his PA "Sir Charlie Jr, your father wants to see you." He averted his gaze while leaving with his entourage. By then, Margret was fully back to her senses and realized that Charlie had gone. At that moment, Klaus witnessed her puzzled expression. "Who are you looking for, Bliss?" Margret forced a weary smile and answered: "Nobody." She was too afraid to let the media get any hints about her children's existence. Klaus tried to
Margret stared at the man she had loved her entire life, the man she had given the presidency of Jing Entertainment, the man she had sacrificed her potential fame for, Daniel Scot, her ex-lover whom abandoned her the time she needed him the most. Margret sneered, "Daniel, why would I explain what happened fifteen years ago? Were you not the one who refused to listen to me then?" Daniel hung his head in shame, "I am sorry, Margret. I was young and stupid then. I want to listen now. Please, tell me what happened." Margret scoffed, realizing how foolish Daniel had been. "Why would I do that? It's been fifteen years, and I have moved on. Please, you should do the same." She turned away and began walking briskly when Daniel called out, "Wait..." Margret paused in her steps. "Don't you still love me?" Margret refused to turn around. "I no longer love you, Daniel. The love I had for you died fifteen years ago, and it's not coming back." Margret left, leaving Daniel standing there wi
Margret squinted her eyes in understanding as she realized why the woman was so frightened, her son was mistaken for Charlie Jnr from the night before. "Ma'am, this is not Charlie Jnr, this is my son," Margret said in a calming tone. The nerd middle-aged woman stiffly sat on her seat and quickly registered Caleb and Celestine with her full attention. "Where should I pay the fees?" Margret asked. The woman waved her hand and shook her head, "There is no need for that, this school owes a lot to your family." Margret hesitated, Celestine chimed in "mom, if she doesn't want the fee, there is no need to force her to accept, lets go, we will be late for our classes if we continue staying here" she agreed and finished the necessary paperwork. After waving goodbye to their teachers, she left the school. The moment she sat in her car and started the engine her phone rang. "Klaus, is anything the matter?" she asked, expecting the worse. The voice on the other line said, "Margret darlin
Margret extinguished the rebellious thought she was nursing.with a palpable sense of dread, she kept her head covered and endured the long car ride. The fleet of cars came to a halt in a magnificent mansion, "get out!" the man at the backside with Margret ordered coldly.Margret alighted from the car using her sharpened instincts by martial arts, because her sight was covered, she couldn't see the endearing beauty of the mansion.A man in his late sixties led two burly men wearing white suits out of the mansion, they met with Margret. The Butler of the White family bowed his head and said apologetically "sorry Miss Margret Owen, our protocol is very rigid that doesn't mean, you are not our distinguished guest."corners of Margret's lips twitched, the Butler didn't see the change in her facial expression because her face was covered."Come with me," the Butler said and motioned the two burly men wearing white suits to bring Margret along.Margret followed them into the magnificent man
Charlie Snr. furrowed his eyebrows in contemplation, his mind racing as he tried to remember any sons he knew who attended Garden High School. After a few moments, he finally turned to John and said in a demanding tone, "John, I need you to find out who the children are and how they are related to me. Do whatever it takes, but I need an answer by dusk. Is that clear?" John nodded his head and replied in a subdued but determined manner, "Yes, sir. I will work as quickly as I can." He bowed his head respectfully before turning and quickly leaving to fulfil the task. Charlie Snr. watched him leave and sighed, leaning back in his chair as he allowed himself to ponder the mystery. His eyes flickered with a faint glimmer of hope as he thought of the possibility of a new family member. ******* Margret arrived at Garden High School, the moment she stepped out of her car, she heard loud voices. To her surprise, her two sons, Caleb and Celestine, were running towards her. Margret smiled
Margret looked on in helplessness as Caleb stood in front of a little girl sitting beneath a tree. The teenager raised her head, squinting her eyes at the intruder's face, which was barely visible due to the bright sunlight.Caleb reached out and knocked the bread the girl was eating to the ground. The girl stared at the fallen bread with regret and sorrow. "Why are you eating spoiled bread? Why don't you go home and ask your mommy for food?" Caleb spoke to the girl with a smile.Tears welled up in the girl's eyes, and she cried, "That is the only food I've eaten for days. My mom is sick, and no one wants to employ me because I'm underage. A kind woman gave me the spoiled bread, and now you've thrown it away."Caleb frowned, realizing the situation was direr than he thought. He took a deep breath and said, "Here, take this." Caleb held out a wad of money, and the girl's eyes widened in shock.Margret called out to Caleb in concern, "Caleb, what are you doing over there? Who are you ta
"Stop him!" Chloe commanded her men.Despite his valiant efforts in exchanging blows, Charlie Jr. was unable to force his way through and was kicked back. As Chloe's men continued to charge forward in overwhelming numbers, Charlie Jr. fought his way out of the room, growing increasingly fatigued. However, when Chloe's men grabbed hold of him, Charlie Jr. desperately struggled to break free, his chest rising and falling with exertion. Despite his fierce resistance, the grip on him proved too strong to overcome.Chloe looked at him condescendingly as she sneered, "Junior, amongst your brothers, you are the most foolish; who are you to make me work for you?""Boss, the helicopter has taken off," one of Chloe's underlinings informed her.A huge smile appeared on Chloe's face, and she said with a tone and gesture of generosity, "You may let him since he wants to watch his lover explode."As soon as Charlie Jr. was released, he appeared to lose his mind. He repeatedly muttered Stella's name
Stella's lips twitched at the sight of Celestine's dismissive attitude. She hadn't expected him to treat her like a nuisance. "That's hardly a welcome," she retorted, rolling her eyes.Realizing his mistake, Celestine tried to make amends. "I'm sorry," he said in a calmer tone. "Please, take a seat."Stella nodded and sat down, but Celestine remained silent, unsure of what to say to her. After five minutes of awkward silence, Stella grew impatient. "Are you going to say anything?" she asked.Celestine shook his head. "I don't know what to say," he admitted.Stella's frustration boiled over. "How can you be silent now?" she exclaimed. "You promised to be with me forever. You promised to marry me. And what about our vows in the field that day? Were they all meaningless to you?"As she spoke, tears streamed down her face, and her anger turned to hurt.As soon as Celestine remembered who Stella was, his expression changed dramatically. He hung his head low and apologized, "I am sorry."St
Stella's mom initially thought that Charlie Jr. and Caleb wanting to marry her daughter would be good news. However, her joy turned into despair when she realized that Stella was caught in the middle of three brothers."Follow your heart, Stella," her mother said, shaking her head. "I cannot make any definitive statements about this matter because your partner is someone you will be spending the rest of your life with."Stella furrowed her eyebrows as she contemplated her options, deep in thought.****Charlie Jr. drove aimlessly around the city, his mind in turmoil after leaving the bar. Eventually, he found himself at the field where Stella had taken him before. As he sat alone, he gazed up at the moon, his heart heavy with longing for her."I wish you were here with me, Stella," he murmured, his voice soft. "I know you want me to move on, but I can't. I just can't."After a while, he stood up and made his way back to his car, his thoughts still consumed by his feelings for Stella.
Stella was torn. She knew that if she didn't act, the situation would only get worse, and she couldn't bear the thought of things spiralling out of control. Summoning up her courage, she took a deep breath and spoke firmly."Charlie Jr., I have to be honest with you. I'm in love with someone else, and I don't think I'm the right person for you," she said, her tone serious.Charlie Jr. shook his head and replied, "It doesn't matter who he is. I love you, and I won't stop loving you. My feelings for you won't change."With that, he got up and walked away, leaving Stella to watch his departing figure with a complicated mix of emotions. As Charlie Jr. exited the bar, he spotted Caleb seated atop his car's bonnet, smoking. The two locked gazes, and Caleb extinguished his cigarette before standing up."Why do you persist when she's made it clear?" Caleb asked, his tone frosty."Her rejection doesn't change my feelings or my desire to pursue her," Charlie Jr. retorted, his own tone equally c
Celestine's expression turned grave, and he whispered, "Isn't that considered treason?"Madame Agnes affirmed, "Yes, but that's not our concern right now. Your task is to intercept the mercenaries and safely escort the X country minister to Houston.""When do we depart?" Celestine inquired, turning to Butler Mark."Right away. We need to set up an ambush," Butler Mark replied."I'm ready," Celestine declared, and Butler Mark turned to leave."Wait," Madame Agnes called out to Celestine, causing him to pause. She looked at him with a serious expression. "Your safety is of utmost importance."Celestine smiled reassuringly and answered, "Don't worry, Mother. Nothing will happen to me."Madame Agnes nodded, watching as Celestine followed Butler Mark out of the house. As they left, Madame Agnes felt a sense of unease. She knew those mercenaries were ruthless and willing to sacrifice themselves for little gain."He'll be alright," she murmured, trying to ease her worries.****After finishi
"Tell me about yourself and your brother, Celestine," Stella inquired of Caleb.Caleb let out a sigh, unsure of how to feel about the situation. He couldn't help but wonder if Stella had known the truth all along - that he and Celestine had been acting as one person while he was pursuing her. "Let's find someplace quiet," he suggested to Stella, who nodded in agreement. They left the mansion and got into Caleb's car.Meanwhile, Charlie Jr. stood outside, watching them drive away with a cold expression and clenched fists. He was infuriated by what had just transpired.Caleb drove them into the busy city, eventually pulling over at a peaceful location. They got out of the car and settled down."I'm sorry for deceiving you," Caleb said apologetically, "I know you must have found out everything. I was young and foolish."Stella's heart skipped a beat. She had suspected the truth, but hearing it from Caleb made her realize that she had never truly been in love with him. Instead, her feeli
The atmosphere was tranquil, and the soothing notes of the piano filled the air. All present were entranced by Celestine's performance, and not a single person dared to disrupt the spell he had cast. As he played the final note, the sound faded away, leaving fifteen seconds of absolute silence. The audience remained lost in the music's beauty, not wanting to shatter the enchantment.Suddenly, applause erupted, but no one knew who had started it. It quickly spread, and everyone joined in, clapping with enthusiasm. Stella glanced at Caleb, who was silently berating his luck. How could he compete with Charlie Jr. and Celestine for a woman's affections? The situation was a tragedy.Stella turned to Caleb and asked, "You know how to play, right?" His heart sank as he had used Celestine's musical talents to impress Stella before. Trying to maintain a serious expression, he responded, "Of course."Stella was surprised but pleased to hear this. She hadn't expected Caleb to know how to play th
Celestine paused his flute playing and turned to face the figure before him. He was momentarily stunned by Stella's beauty, feeling as though she was the most exquisite lady he had ever laid eyes upon. The fireflies dancing around her only added to her charm, making her utterly irresistible.Furrowing his eyebrows, Celestine tried to place where he had seen this face before. There was something familiar about it that he couldn't quite grasp.Similarly, Stella stood frozen, her heart racing as she felt a different kind of connection with this person who resembled Caleb but possessed a refined handsomeness that even surpassed that of his brothers. As she gazed at him, she couldn't help but wonder if he was one of the triplets. But why did she feel such a strong and unique attraction towards him? Her thoughts became muddled and chaotic.Celestine furrowed his eyebrows in confusion as he looked at the beautiful lady in front of him. "Who are you? Do we know each other?" he asked, feeling
Caleb approached Stella with a happy expression, but she was in a daze as she stared at him. To her surprise, they looked exactly alike. Suddenly, a painful memory came flooding back to her when she met Charlie Jr. at the hospital years ago, and he didn't remember her."Stella, do you still remember me?" Caleb asked eagerly as he approached her.Just then, Charlie Jr. coughed, interrupting them. "Hey bro, this is my wife Stella," he said.Caleb's expression darkened as he looked at Charlie Jr. and then turned back to Stella. "What happened? You promised to wait for me," he said, his tone full of confusion and hurt.Stella's heart trembled as she struggled to understand what was happening. She quickly asked the first question that came to mind. "And what is your name?" she asked Caleb.Caleb furrowed his eyebrows, taken aback by her question. He hesitated for a moment before responding, "It's me, Caleb. Don't you remember me?"Stella's face showed evident shock as she looked back and f
