Without a second thought, Clarke bolted forward while his heart raced with adrenaline and fear to the thought of Calliope's life being in danger. His men immediately followed, their footfalls echoing off the warehouse walls, though their attempts to move stealthily were in vain. The sound of their rushed steps reverberated through the cavernous space, alerting anyone nearby to their presence. But Clarke didn’t care—he was so close now. I’m coming, Callie.

The flickering light from a distant bulb revealed shifting shadows in the far corners of the warehouse. Clarke’s mind was singularly focused on Calliope, but his men were more alert, scanning every inch of the surrounding area for threats.
