Naturally, for someone with extraordinary sight, Lucien should have seen the gate before its visible appearance to the natural eyes, but he had been blinded by his rage that he didn't bother to look beyond!

"How can I intend to drive us to our deaths? I didn't know the gate was there," Lucien retorts sadly and lowers his head. "I'm sorry. Deeply sorry. I had gotten so enraged that I didn't look well and missed the gate. I'm sorry."
