"Did he pick up?" The voice of Jack Ville can be heard in the background.

Lucien creases his brow. "You two are together, Bryson?"

"Yes, Mr. Wood," Jack is the one to respond. "I called you seven times but you didn't pick up. I had to drive down to the Brysons' Villa to meet up with Mr. Ethan. See, he called you just once and you picked up. Mr. Wood is it that you didn't want to pick up my call?" The sadness in Jack's voice is obvious to everyone.
