The Villes although so angry and full of hatred for Mr. Norman several minutes ago become devastated and grief-stricken that without having control over their emotions they get down on their knees and begin crying their hearts out. Blood they say is thicker than wine.

Jack also is full of dread. He is well aware that he is the one who forced Mr. Norman to his tragic death and that everything that has transpired to this point is entirely his fault.

Although he has always wanted to exact revenge, he doesn't feel pleased at all to see Mr. Norman die in such a horrifying manner.

However, after giving it some thought, he realizes that if he had to start all over again, he would have still done the same thing.

The reason for this is that even if he had decided to forgive Mr. Norman, he would still have died because Lucien Wood would not have let him off the hook just like that.
