JADE'S POV

It's been a few days since Ilast received a note from my stalker, and honestly, I'm not sure if I'm totally relieved about it or not.

I mean, if they keep coming, I'd just have to be creeped out by the sick, psychotic words scrawled inside it by the sick pervert, but now I have to worry too about what they are using all this extra time for.

Planning to really hurt me this time? Do more than slash my tyres?

I shudder at the thought, letting my eyes dart around the corners of the street I'm walking down.

Chills settled around me from wondering about the possibility of something happening and being worried out of my mind.

I walk faster down the street, suddenly uncomfortable.

I couldn't help wondering if any of these averagely normal looking people making their ways up and down the street is the reason I live my life in fear these days.

It's

JADE'S POVWe spent our morning following our usual routine. From aisle to aisle, oh-ing and ah-ing and buying almost nothing.Yeah, welcome to the broke girls club. Yup, we broke, we own it and we still storm here every weekend.I was tired out by the time we finally called quits and tracked it to our favorite cafe instead. You guessed it right, it's Libby's, with her mouth watering coffee and orgasmic sponge cakes.I wish I know the secret to their deliciousness.I took a forkful of the cake, moaning as I savored the flavored goodness."Ughhhh, this is so good." I complimented with a little dramatic effect, getting a seconding and firm agreement from Ches.We were silently milking every delicious flavor from our snack until I decided it was getting too quiet."Guess who finally texted me back, after six full month

JADE'S POVI have about a million and one things I want to tell at him right now, and trust me, not half of them is nice. But at the moment, I'm choosing staying alive first. My hands are clutching hard around his torso as he ferries us away at break neck speed, obviously exploiting my dislike for both speed and bikes. His might be all expensive and beastly, but it scares me all the same.I hated that I couldn't do anything except hold on tight and pray that we get quickly to the god-knows-where destination he has in mind and let me off his beast. Finally, my prayers take hold and the answer comes in the form of the Jones home.Oh God, this is like the last place on the planet that I want to be now and I'm sure Caden knows that.At least the stupid smirk on his face as he helps me down says so.A lot has changed around here since the last time I visited. That was years ago, I think, since the day they packed

CADEN'S POVI brought her over so we can go over the mess she's stuck in, but I might as well have brought her here for Matt.Nigga can't keep his eyes off her and why that pisses me the hell off, I don't kn..... you know what, I know but I've chosen denial over truth.I'm beginning to regret getting him involved in the first place and going ahead to invite him to my house.I ignore his loose focus and wandering eyes and turn my attention to Jade. She didn't look averse to the obvious attention pouring in from Mr lover boy over there and it caused a stir inside me.I don't want to admit it, but I felt jealous, jealous at the small smile gracing her lips at Matt's antics."What are we doing here?"That had been her question right?"Sit down Jade, we've got to talk."She was hesitant, even as she final

JADE'S POV"Lizzy"I muttered to myself, I'd almost let these past few days rob me of the fact that Caden does have a girlfriend.Almost.Well, my bad and not anymore because she's here stamping ownership all over him like I'm about to steal him or something. You can keep him sis, no matter how much I want him, I won't fight over a guy that barely notices I have boobs and not a rock solid chest. And hey, there are barely any female legs in town that he's not been between, I like being the exception too much to fight.I didn't hear what she told him, mostly because I didn't want to, but the smacking kiss she pressed to his lips was kinda hard to miss.I try to convince myself that the only feeling that spiked inside me was indifference but it was hard believing it."Liar." My subconscious accused having a field day in my head.I watched him let her through the door and into the house, her head held high and her nos

"Hey, pancakes."I smile at my phone as I read the text on display.Of course it's Matt, the only person I know on the face of earth with an aversion to pancakes.Like, how can you not like pancakes?Who dosen't?Nobody, except him.He literally hates the thing and when I raised a campaign on how that's like the best breakfast ever, especially when dripping with syrup, he took to calling me 'pancakes'.Over the past couple of days, since the day he dropped me off, I've kinda kept in touch with him, turns out he's really a cool person. If only I wasn't already so taken by the one guy that barely acknowledges the fact that I'm female and not a dude, i could easily fall for him."Miss me already, do you?" I text back, falling into bed with a goofy smile on my face."Haa, you wish."Maybe I do.It'd be nice to know that someone actually pays me a thought every once in a while. The buzzing of my ri

MATT'S POVWatching her eat her ice cream excitedly, like a five year old on her best flavor, did things to me.Things it had no business doing. The uncontrolled little moans escaping her as she gushed on how good it is, wasn't even helping my course. She looks so innocent and carefree sitting with me here and doing nothing else except trying to beat her own ice cream eating record. She loves the damn thing so much it's a surprise she's not fat from consuming lots of it."So, you convinced yet?" I asked her, pulling on my self-control to keep from leaning in and kissing off the bit hanging off the corner of her lips. That would probably creep her out and send her running from me forever. My eyes travel back up her face, watching her lids drop close and her face tilt to the soft glow of the sun. She's like the grown-ish version of adorable and a really cool person to be with and it makes me wonder why I waited so long to

  • THE BAD BOY'S GOOD GIRL   Chapter Fourteen

JADES POV I had a very wonderful day with Matt, made me forget my problems and all. But the moment I spot my parents car in the driveway, it all comes rushing back. Amber's probably already back looking for blood and it's the last thing I need. I muster up a smile as I wave him off, watching him drive off. If only Caden and Amber can be half as nice as Matt is to me, my life would be a whole lot easier. I stand outside on the porch for a full minute, getting mentally ready for this, before I pull the door open and let myself in. True to my guess, sister dearest was sprawled on the couch, some book whose title I don't care about, held loosely in her hand. "Look who decides to finally show up, while knowing I'm coming home today." There was an obvious sneer in her voice, even while she keeps her eyes on her book. "Hi Amber." I greeted, ignoring her comment and going back upstairs.

  • THE BAD BOY'S GOOD GIRL   Chapter Fifteen

JADE'S POV I wait a while before I take my jacket and phone and leave my room, don't ask me why I waited though. It's probably because I'm not sure how bad it's going to get going down and heading out instead of going to sit meekly at the table. But I don't think I care so much right now. I'll rather they call me rebellious and let me go than let them make me stay. I'm not in the right state of mind to handle my family now. Swallowing hard and putting on my big girl panties, I head down the stairs. What's the worst that can happen, right? "Where do you think you are going, young woman?" I pause at the sound of my mother's voice. She's the last person I want to meet right now. "Just heading out mom, I need air." I heard Amber's scoff all the way from the kitchen. For an elder sister, she's quite petty with expressions. "Dinner is in five minutes, so the only place you'd be heading to is th

CADEN'S POVI know what she's asking but the answer to her question is lodged in my throat, not coming up and not going down, only suffocating me like those nightmares I beg to wake from and hear nothing in response except my own thudding heart and my laboured breath.Time pass, the question condensing in the air, getting thicker and heavier in its entirety and I just feel so small, s feeling I've avoided like the plague in these recent and brighter times. She sits up on the bed, dropping my hand eventually like I'd wanted at some point, but the waft of cold breeze that cools it off of the tiny balls of perspiration that had built in them from contact, reminded me why this is the last thing I want. She says nothing, doesn't ask me again or try to push me fo tell her about the hellish years that had followed leaving here and the nightmares that had built after it.Just nothing. She just hugs her knees to herself and watches me and I see it in her quiet gaze, the resignation and resolve

  • THE BAD BOY'S GOOD GIRL   Chapter Eighty Six

JADE'S POV I try hard not to look at him differently, not to feel so much hurt on his behalf and not blame myself so much for not being there when he needed someone the most, but it's sooo fucking difficult not to, not after listening to everything he just said.I had no idea all he'd gone through, alone and now all the times I spent hating his guts and resenting him seems a waste and stupid.Every day, I imagined he was enjoying his super perfect life, looking down his nose at the rest of us measely teens but his life had been anything but perfect. It'd been all bright on the outside and yet very dark, lonely and hollow on the inside that it must have been so fucking difficult.Somehow, I'm glad I skipped school today and is spending the day with him, a weak attempt at making up for lost times and a silent apology for....everything.Silently, I'm grateful that his book went missing because he would never have told me any of this if it hadn't, though I hope to hell and back that it do

  • THE BAD BOY'S GOOD GIRL   Chapter Eighty Five

CADEN'S POV Richard was a portly man, a little too young to be imagined a close friend of my dad's and always overly excited with his beady eyes and warm hugs.......but I don't tell her this.I don't say a word about how I hate the smell of musk and spice to this day because of him and I don't mention how terrifying I find anything served unsealed or in a glass.I dont say shit to her anymore than I already did because even that is too fucked and too much to dump on someone. There's no point burdening her with the whole story now of how he'll come home from work early every other day, always glad when he finds me home alone. He'll always smile like he's the good guy and ask how school was, even though I never bother to answer any of his questions. All I wanted at that point in my life was for my mom to not be.....gone and for my dad not to always be gone, not some man always prying into my business every now and again. Her sobbing, faint now but still there, racking through her petit

  • THE BAD BOY'S GOOD GIRL   Chapter Eighty Three

JADE'S POV I can't believe he liked me back then, almost as much as I like him and said nothing. All those years ago and he'd let some stupid thing he heard me tell Ches out of resignation ruin all of it for both of us.I mean, she and I had been what we thought of as pretty obvious in our crush on him, she, the more obsessed one and me, more the best friend that knows for sure that she'll never have the guy but he'd not once seen through any of it?Wow, I can see now why most people would easily agree that most guys can be so fucking clueless, annoyingly so, when they want to be."So when you returned, started a new school and found out I was there, why didn't you try to talk to me about it, or say something at least? Why did you just continue ignoring me, barely answering my greetings and rolling only with your new circle of popular friends?"He has the decency to look sorry about that, like he just realised now too how much of a bitch hindsight can be."I'd just gotten out of very
