Chapter 4
Eyes still locked, Alpha Bruce made his way to the seat that had been reserved for him.
Every fiber of his being wanted to take her, to claim her but he had to keep himself under control.
"Mate." Leo, his wolf kept screaming, not making things easy for him.
"I know. Hush now!" He whispered.
Taking a look around him, he was astounded by the inhumane show that was going on but he kept his cool.
"Bring them in." The Alpha's voice boomed.
One by one, all the female prisoners were brought forth and unfortunately, Ivy was the first to be called forth.
"Is there anyone who wishes to claim this... Omega before us?" The Alpha's voice dripped with disgust.
Murmurs of excitement filled the hall as the men present began to raise their hands but a sudden silence enveloped them as Alpha Bruce slowly raised his hands.
One by one, the other hands dropped. No one dared to go against Alpha Bruce. Not if they valued their life.
As the Alpha's gaze settled on Alpha Bruce, a subtle nod of acknowledgment passed between them.
Wasting no time, Alpha Bruce took Ivy by the hand and together, they walked out of the arena much to the displeasure of Marco. He was so angry that his entire body shook and to avoid blowing out on anyone, or cause suspicion he left the arena too.
All that she felt as she walked beside Alpha Bruce was confusion. Aside from that his motives for picking her still remained shrouded in mystery, he had not offered even the faintest hint that he recognized the bond they shared—the destined connection that held them inextricably linked.
As they moved away from the possessing gazes of the crowd, Her thoughts swirled in a torrent of questions.
How could he not show any sign that he knew she was meant for him?
The confusion weighed heavily on her, so much so that her steps faltered, momentarily breaking the rhythm of their silent procession. She dared to steal a glance at Alpha Bruce, searching for answers within the depths of his gaze. And yet, the impenetrable wall of his composed demeanor mirrored her own confusion, leaving her yearning for a flicker of understanding.
"I know..." Alpha Bruce began to say, bringing Ivy back to reality "... that you have never seen a man as good-looking as I am but please, do not stare too much. Besides, you'll have enough time to look at me once we are in my chamber." He said ever so softly and seductively, offering a smile that made her weak in the knees. She looked away instantly, trying to hide the red color on her cheeks.
They got into the car and Ivy did her best to avoid looking at him. But her hormones on the other hand were running wild. She wanted to touch him, so much that she didn't know when she let her legs touch him.
"Mate!" her dormant wolf whispered weakly. She was happy but at this moment, she had to ignore her else she might lose herself completely.

Alpha Bruce's bed chamber was a sight to behold. The room was adorned with luxurious furnishings, rich fabrics, and an opulent ambiance. The centerpiece was a grand, intricately carved bed fit for royalty, beckoning comfort and indulgence.
Ivy was still lost in her reverie when she felt a hot breeze on her neck. Ivy's heart raced as she felt the hot breath on her neck, causing her senses to go into overdrive. She tried to pull away, but her feet seemed rooted to the ground, trapped by an unseen force. The scent of alpha Bruce enveloped her, clouding her mind and igniting a primal desire within her. Every instinct screamed for her to yield, to surrender to his embrace. It took all her willpower to break free from his magnetic pull.
Confusion filled Ivy's thoughts as she stared into Bruce's captivating eyes. "What? I thought you wanted this?" he questioned, his lips curling into that familiar, enticing smile. Ivy closed her eyes tightly, trying to regain control over her racing emotions, only to open them and find Bruce's face mere inches away from hers again. She instinctively moved back, but he closed the distance, pinning her against the wall. Her breath hitched as his gaze dropped to her lips, his intentions unmistakable.
A mix of apprehension and desire battled within Ivy's mind. She knew she should resist, and move away, but her body betrayed her, longing for his touch. Just as she was about to surrender to the inevitable, Bruce's unexpected words broke through the haze. "Go take your bath and join me in bed," he commanded, a smug smirk playing on his lips.
Ivy's eyes widened in shock. Not only did she miss the anticipated kiss, but another realization struck her like a bolt of lightning. Did she hear him correctly? Did he just ask her to join him in bed? Confusion and uncertainty flooded her thoughts, leaving her grappling with a whirlwind of emotions.
Ivy stood frozen in disbelief as Bruce's words echoed in her mind. The idea of an omega sleeping in an alpha's bed was unheard of, let alone being treated with such consideration. They were just objects of pleasure and we're discarded after being used.
Her heart raced with confusion and uncertainty. Could it be possible that Bruce was different from the other alphas she had encountered? As Ivy hesitated, she couldn't help but wonder if this was a test. A cruel joke to humiliate her further.
"Go take your bath and come go me in bed," he repeated again that was when she realized he had actually meant it.
She still didn't want to move But something in Bruce's sincere gaze made her heart flutter, defying her instincts of self-preservation. With a mix of curiosity and cautious hope, she finally nodded, accepting his offer.
Upon her return from the bathroom, Ivy noticed that Alpha Bruce was not in the room, but there was a set of clothes neatly laid out on the bed for her to change into.
As she finished changing, a knock on the door startled her. "It's me. I'm coming in," she heard Alpha Bruce's voice announce.
He entered the room, having changed into fresh attire, suggesting he had taken his bath elsewhere. With a tender command, he gestured for her to sit, and then he carefully tended to her wounds, applying ointment and dressing them with care.
His gentle and attentive nature was a stark contrast to the harsh treatment she had experienced since her father's passing. Overwhelmed with gratitude, Ivy managed to find her voice. "Thank you," she spoke softly, her first words to him.
Bruce playfully teased, "So she talks?" eliciting a smile from Ivy. The tension in the room dissipated as he continued, "And she smiles too?" Their interaction lightened the atmosphere.
"Let's go to bed," he suggested, and despite her tired body, Ivy's fatigue seemed to relent as she climbed into the bed beside him. Bruce enveloped her in a comforting embrace, tenderly caressing her until she drifted into a peaceful sleep.

As the morning sun cast its warm golden glow through the window, the room came alive with a gentle radiance. The soft light danced upon the walls and illuminated the delicate features of Ivy's face as she lay peacefully in the embrace of slumber. Bruce couldn't help but be captivated by her beauty, his heart swelling with love as he leaned in to press a tender kiss upon her forehead.
A growl, throaty and menacing, rumbled deep within Alpha Bruce's chest, reverberating with the weight of his displeasure.
With a gentle sigh, Bruce untangled himself from Ivy's side, his touch lingering briefly before he left her to her dreams.
"I'm sorry to disturb you, Alpha Bruce" the guard apologized upon seeing the annoyed look on Bruce's face " But you are needed in the study room."
Bruce relaxed a bit. This was the actual reason he had visited the Nile pack. He had reached a consensus with Marco to select and train a few pups.
"Lead the way."
Upon entering the study room, Bruce saw that Marco was already there and he sat at the head of a large wooden table. Bruce took a seat opposite.
"So, it's business time?" Bruce asked.
Marco didn't respond, rather he gave him a mean look, one that Bruce did not miss. This didn't bother him at all.
With a wave of hand, Marco signaled a guard to bring in the young pups.
About ten of them were ushered into the Study room. Bruce turned his attention to the pups as he relaxed in his seat. Looking at them, he knew selection wouldn't be hard but for protocol's sake, he went ahead to ask them questions.
After a lengthy discussion and consideration, the selection process was finally concluded. Bruce had chosen three young pups with exceptional instincts, unwavering determination, and a willingness to learn.
Aside from these things, he saw a part of himself in them. A part that reminded him of his past.
With the meeting concluded Bruce wasted no time. He headed straight for his room. "She must be awake now and probably looking for me," he thought.
Upon reaching his room, Bruce's heart skipped a beat as he noticed Ivy's absence. Panic began to bubble up within him, but he quickly collected himself, steadying his emotions. His instincts told him exactly where she could be but he needed to confirm.
The possibility of his instincts being right made his blood boil.
When he went to the dining room, he saw that Marco and the Alpha King were already seated. He nodded at the Alpha King and took his seat.
"I hope you enjoyed your night?" The Alpha asked with a mischievous smirk on his face.
"I did. But I just went to my room now and she's not there."
"Oh, that's normal.” The Alpha waved, “ She has been taken back to the cell. She'll be killed today."
Alpha Bruce's face tightened and he struggled to contain his anger. The previous night, he had asked about how Ivy got the wounds and scars on her body and had been told of the maltreatment she had faced and as if that wasn't enough, they wanted to kill her too.
He took several breaths to calm himself and restore his calm demeanor. Maybe she committed a crime worth being killed. "What did she do?"
"She's a thief. She stole my precious jade." The Alpha King said callously.
Theft? She was being killed for theft? He instantly sensed that there was more to this.
"Can I see her?" he asked.
Marco arched his brow, the irritation he felt evident in his eyes. "Why?” he asked.
Alpha Bruce completely ignored Marco and continued. "Let me see her," he requested.
The Alpha King chuckled. "She must have made an impression on you." he turned to the guard and asked that ivy be brought.
The guards returned with Ivy, who stood before them, uncertainty etched across her face.
his eyes silently assessed her, his heart aching at the sight of her mistreatment.
Silence hung heavy, and then his voice cut through the air, laced with steely resolve. "How much are you willing to sell her to me?"
Chapter 5“I beg your pardon” Alpha Kevin, Marco's father spurted out in disbelief. It was one thing for Alpha Bruce to be interested in the fortnight ceremony but it was another thing for him to be interested in buying the omega he had spent the night with.Marco’s brow creased in confusion, “why do you want to buy her?” He asked the question that was clouding everyone's mind present. “She’s nothing and doesn’t…”“How much are you willing to sell her to me?” Alpha Bruce asked again, his voice not betraying or giving anything out.Ivy swallowed as she stared at the man she thought was different. Of course, she was just an Omega, she doesn’t deserve to be happy. First, Marco didn’t want to be with her, and her second mate was acting like he didn’t sense the mate bond. The way her heart skipped whenever he was close to her.She swallowed the lump that rose in her throat. He wanted her but as his slave. Isn’t that why he was asking to buy her?“Alpha Bruce just like I have said before, t
Chapter 6Ivy refused to speak. Speaking would only get her in trouble. She would have spit out every single thought that had crept up her mind since she first saw him but instead, she chose to remain silent. She silently took him in. Well, he was a looker if only he could control his anger. She was mad though, mad that he had ignored her until now.“Alpha, we’ve arrived” The door swung open. She didn’t realize that they had gotten to their destination since she was more focused on the man who was her second chance mate, a mate that would have healed the pain she felt inside.Quit it, Ivy. You don’t need mates. You don't need more heartaches. She chided herself. She attempted to drop down from the car when he pulled her back. “There’s something you need to know,”“I don’t think so, I am your slave after all” she spat and quickly jumped out of the car. Bruce let her leave. She might be an omega but she was one hell of a spitfire. He chuckled. He would love the chase. He would love to t
Chapter 7“What’s this news that I’m hearing, Bru?” The door swung open revealing a brunette. Her hair cascaded her moon-shaped face, and her lips coated in red paint, a hint of anger on her face.Alpha Bruce turned, sparing her a quick glance before returning his gaze back to the desk. “What news exactly? You need to be specific” he replied. Cassandra huffed, hating that he wasn’t taking her seriously.“Something about you returning from the Nile Pack with a female. Why would you do that?” She questioned fiercely.“Oh.” He nodded, “she’s my mate, Sandy” Bruce replied. The air was tense and quiet. Cassandra stood rooted to a spot as she let his words dwell in her head.“B- but how?” She splurted. “What would happen to us?”He rose from his seat, shutting the documents in front of him then approached her. “I meant to tell you that I just didn’t know you would return so early.”“So you’re saying that we are…” she let her voice go off. She didn’t want to say it out loud. Saying it out lo
Chapter 8“I’m sorry” Bruce whispered as he held Ivy. She pushed him, not wanting to listen to his excuses. To her, she meant nothing to him and his apology might as well be half-assed.She tried to evade his touch but Bruce pulled her back, her back colliding with his naked chest. Ivy breathed, his scent clouding her senses as she felt her inner moist trembling. Bruce sniffed the air and a smile appeared on his face as her wetness wafted into his nose.“You can feel it just as much as I do, so stop fighting it…”“I don’t…” she cut him off defiantly. She refused to let herself be weakened to his touch but the more resolve she puts in, the more it weakened her.“Really?” He scoffed, swiftly turning her around, his eyes sought hers as they darkened. Her nipples stood erect in the simple silk night dress she had on. He bent his head to hers, slowly breathing her in. “Tell me you don’t like it when I touch you,” he whispered, his fingers trailing slowly on her thighs.“Tell me you don’t w
Chapter 9Bruce sighed. He might have said he loved how strong-headed she was but right now, he felt his blood boiling at her obvious rejection of him. Sue had been moaning his name in her sleep, telling him how much she needed him so why was she still pushing him away?“This is unfair,” he said. He decided getting upset whenever she pushed him away wasn’t going to solve a thing. He calmed his wolf but there was only little he could do, sooner or later his wolf was going to want to lay his claim on their mate.“Unfair?” She scoffed. “You call this unfair?” She asked in disbelief. “There has been nothing unfair to you. I should be the one crying wolf”She slid out of the bed and walked towards the window. “Unfair is when you bought me from a pack. Unfair is ignoring me without acknowledging our bond, unfair is bringing me here and just forgetting me. Unfair is…” She didn’t realize Bruce had walked up to her. He held her hand making the rest of her words lost in the back of her mind.“I
Chapter ten"Where is he?" Cassandra fumed, walking blindly through the dimly lit halls she had become so familiar with. This place was her second home but it seemed her place here was being threatened. She couldn't sleep a wink last night, thoughts of the strange woman kept her awake and restless. Why now?Alpha Bruce was already awake and in his study as usual. It was a pretty crucial time for the pack and it would be his busiest, especially with the training of the pups he brought over from the Nile pack."It's too early in the morning to be this loud. What are you doing here?""Really? When have you ever asked me that? You look like you had a good sleep last night. That is so heartless.""You don't have to do this sandy. I can't say I don't understand how you feel, but please try to do what's best for the pack..""What's best for the pack or what's best for you?" She asked, whimpering. " I will never be enough for you will I?""We never loved each other sandy, our relationship was
Chapter 11A million thoughts rummaged through her mind and her brain threatened to explode. She couldn't stay here a day more, not with everything that had happened within her short stay here. Cassandra was venomous and Bruce was a liar. He probably only brought her here to warm his bed. Cassandra was right, She was just his toy. A treat for his wolf. Why were her mates jerks? And why did the moon goddess give her a second mate? That was very a rare occurrence and was usually reserved for the most important of wolves. But she was just a worthless Omega. Why her? And she didn't even need them. She hadn't even had time to heal from Marco's rejection and betrayal."I have to get out of here." Ivy said to herself."Where would you go? Lana, her wolf asked"Lana?" She hadn't heard her wolf's voice since the incident. She needed time to heal from the pain she felt from Marco's rejection. She was all better now."I'm here. You know you can't run away from our new mate now. I won't be able t
Chapter 12"We have news." Beta Rivers said, signaling for the maids to leave. At his cue, they scurried away, careful not to anger their soon to be Alpha. He had quite the temper."Tell me.""They couldn't do it. Alpha Bruce came in just in time to save her."Marco's expression darkened and his claws elongated and ripped the chair he sat on. His eyes burned with rage. "What the fuck do you mean? She wasn't even within Bruce's territory. How could they fail?""There's a reason why Alpha Bruce bought her, and it's quite shocking." Rivers replied.Marco had been obsessed with having ivy killed. She should have died here that day. He couldn't bear the shame if word came out that he was mated to her. The pack's rag doll! He wanted to finish up what he started but the rogues had failed him. He knew ivy quite well. She would not sit still if she didn't like it there. He expected her to run away and had the rogues lay wait for her when she did. But he had failed to silence her, and it was
EPILOGUEIvy opened her eyes and shut it again, her eyes flinching from the intense sunlight. She rubbed her eyes with the back of her hands and opened them. Sitting up, she removed the blankets from her body and wore her slipper."It's today!" She said excitedly and hurried downstairs. The entire pack house was in a frenzy. The house was full already even though the party hadn't started. How could this number be involved in the decorations?Today was both her Luna ceremony and Amy's naming ceremony. She had been in a coma for months after her encounter with Anika. When she woke up, Athena made sure to explain everything that happened. During the fight, Ivy had let Amary take over her body and used her powers to drain Anika's powers till she had nothing left. It was a risk she had had to take even though she knew that much power could kill her. She slipped into a coma after.Ivy felt a hand wrap around her waist and she turned to see Bruce standing behind her, a smile on his face. "Y
Chapter 76Bruce rushed at Marco and lifted him up by his collar, suspending him mid air. His eyes burned with anger, his gaze murderous."Are you alright?" Bruce asked Ivy, not taking his eyes from Marco.Ivy breathed deeply, relief washing over her. He was back. Whatever spell or mind game Anika was playing, it was nothing compared to their bond and their love. "I'm fine." She replied.Cassandra rushed in just then, her eyes widening in alarm. Bruce had suddenly flared up and broke everything on the table, rushing out of the dining in rage. She had no idea what had happened and followed him only to end up in the maid's quarters."Marco!" Evelyn yelled. She had followed them here too when she noticed her mate had disappeared. Anger was visible on her face. "What the hell are you doing here Marco? You left me out there to come be with this woman?" She yelled, looking him over. Her eyes rested on his open zipper and it dawned on her just what he was after."You shameless piece of shit!
Chapter 75"Are you sure this is alright?" Evelyn asked, a little nervous. She was scared of Bruce ever since the day he almost choked her for attempting to hurt Ivy. If Marco hadn't come for her, he would definitely have killed her. Both their packs weren't on good terms. They weren't at war, but they weren't allies either."Don't worry, Anika has them trapped in her own world and they only remember whatever she's put in their minds. It's Anika we should be weary of, her powers are incredible. Sometimes I ask myself if we're even in our right minds or if she's using us too.""She's not. If you suspect it and question it, then you're in your right mind." Evelyn replied. The stopped talking and plastered a smile on their faces when Cassandra walked towards them, her hands intertwined in Bruce's. She smiled radiantly and bowed in greeting, grinning from ear to ear. They read her expression. She was excited, having gotten everything she ever wanted. Bruce was hers now and Ivy had been re
Chapter 74Heels clicked in the distance and a faint taps echoed on the floor and through the hall as the footsteps approached. A light, happy him trailed the footsteps and Bruce immediately knew who it was. Cassandra had been in a chatty mood all day."Did you like the dinner that much? Or is it the wedding that's making you all giddy?" He teased as she opened the door and walked in."Both." She replied, planting a soft kiss in his cheek. "Why are you always cooked up in your study?" She asked, a playful frown on her face."I've just got a lot to settle so I won't have to much to do on our honeymoon." He said, causing her to smile brightly."You're a smart man." She replied, strangling him. "But still, can I steal you for thirty minutes? There's something I really need to show you." She said, a sexy smile on her face."You got me baby." Bruce replied, pushing the paperwork to a corner of the table. Cassandra kissed him hungrily in his lips and ran her fingers throubj his hair. Bruce
Chapter 73The floor was cold and damp and the halls echoed her screams to be let out of the prison. The warriors guarding the prison gate made sure to ignore everything she said as though she wasn't even there.Ivy sat down on the floor, exhausted from her futile protests. She buried her face in her hands and her shoulders shook with the wave of anguish that hit her. Bruce's eyes had held anger and no trace of the love it once held for her reflected in his gaze. 'It wasn't his fault,'' he was under a spell" she told herself repeatedly but it hurt her still. How could he not recognize his own mate?"Ivy?" Lana called, her eyes the colour of burning amber."Lana! Thank goodness you're here, I'm so frustrated right now. What are we going to do?""It seems Anika has them all fooled. They're lost inside this world Anika has created and they have no idea. We need to find a way to get them out of that world. It's the only way to bring them back or they'll be lost in there forever.""How do
Chapter 72Fighting them wasn't an option, it would only make Bruce more angry and he wouldn't listen to her explanations. It wasn't their fault anyway. No one had thought Anika would attack them this way. It was supposed to be her. Now, they were trapped. How would she get out of this and find a way to help them? She looked at Bruce's dark expression and saw disgust in his eyes. How could he look at her that way? His eyes had only held love and devotion for her.It wasn't his fault, but she couldn't help but feel bad about it. She was his mate no matter what. How could he not recognize her? "Take her and lock her away in the dungeon. She'll pay for attacking her Luna and threatening her!" Bruce ordered. The warriors bowed and began to pull her away. She thought of what to do in that instance. She could fight them off if she wanted to and could easily escape but if she did, they would realize that she wasn't just a regular wolf. She would have to use her wit h powers too. It worried
Chapter 71Something was off. There was definitely something different about the pack house but ivy couldn't quite figure out what it was.The place was unusually quiet and it was already evening. Bruce would be in his study and Amy said she was going to wait for her at the pack house. With Amy around, there was bound to be some chatter. But it was silent. She entered the pack house and found the maids busy, serving the tables and decorating the dining with scented candles and rose petals. What was going on?Ivy smiled realizing that she had probably walked into a surprise proposal from Bruce. Was he going to officially ask her to marry him? She was his mate and it was a given that they would be together, but, what woman wouldn't want a romantic proposal and an even more romantic wedding? With everything going on, they hadn't been able to focus on themselves and the life they wanted together. She was pleased that despite all this, he still found the time to prepare something so beauti
Chapter 70Thelma lived at the outskirts of the realm, away from everyone. The woods was her home and nature her companion. She sat down on a fallen tree branch staring out into the open, her feet playing with the water beneath her. She had always enjoyed sitting by the lake."Athena." She called immediately they walked in. She still had her back turned to them and it made Ivy wonder how she knew who they were."Thelma, I see you haven't lost your touch." Athena replied.Thelma got up on her feet and picked up her wooden staff that laid next to her. She turned to face them and ivy's mouth hung open. Her eye balls were blue, but a white veil covered it she was blind."You brought the half blood with you." She said with a smile. "Amary kept her promise and returned after all." "You live here by yourself?" Ivy found herself asking. How could a blind woman survive out here in the forest on her own?"Yes, my dear. I've lived here for over a hundred years." She replied. "I know this place
CHAPTER 69"What's taking them so long?" Amy asked, pacing from one end of the room to the other, a worried look on her face. They had been gone for hours now and no one had heard anything from them. Amy had tried to mind link Ivy and so had Bruce, but none of them could get through. There seemed to be a force blocking them. The door opened and Ivy walked in, Athena behind her. They stood up on their feet, when they saw them entering."How did it go?" Keisha asked. She must have been the most anxious because from the moment Luna Eloise handed Ivy to her the night of Anika's attack, protecting ivy and getting her ready to fight Anika had been a responsibility that weighed on her.Ivy reached Into her bag and brought out the book. She placed it on the table and everyone stared at it in confusion."This is the book we found at your place." Bruce said. "Have you been able to read it?""Open it." Ivy said, her expression clipped. The others exchanged confused glances but Bruce reached for
