I cursed at the distance stretching out between my own lands and Pixie’s, the wind whistling in my ears as I raced alongside Jared and WormWhick.

I couldn’t think straight, my wolf taking the driver’s seat quite literally and steering my thoughts dangerously close to bloodlust.

I would kill Dwight.

I would kill Dwight and any other wolves that stood in the way. Any wolf that stood between I and Pixie would drop before they even realized what was happening.

I should have put up more of a fight the night she demanded I let her go back. I should have begged her to stay, done whatever I could to make sure she hadn’t left my side.

Because this was torture. With miles and miles separating my lands from hers, even my wolf couldn’t cover the distance quick enough for my liking.
