KOOKIE:

When I hear this, I try to maintain a calm face, believing it is all a lie and they are trying to get me to fold because they know how much I care about Luna Jasmine. I ask questions, and I hear she lives far from the alpha’s pack. Her home is secluded, so how did she get the virus?

Donald puts the phone on speaker.

“Mom, what is going on?” Levi asks, then I hear Luna Jasmine’s hoarse voice.

“I came down with a headache this morning.” My heart flinches a bit, and suddenly, I feel a little sense of care creeping in. She never really hurt me, and I know they kept the wedding away from me to protect me.

I shouldn’t let her suffer because of her stupid son, I say to myself.

“Is… Ko..okie there?” When she asks, my heart skips a beat as Levi looks up at me.

“Yes,” he replies, causing me to inhale sharply as I try to ground myself.

The emotions coursing through me are a lot to process, but I try my best not to have an outburst because a part of me wishes she could have come to my res

Kookie:As I stare at my parents, sitting on a couch in the Luna’s living room, I think I am dreaming. They haven’t really aged in the past six years, apart from the strand of gray hair that my mother has grown, which has only made her even more beautiful. The moment only lasts for a few seconds before it hits me—this could be a setup, and Levi might be using them to get me to help him. But Luna Jasmine would never do that to me, would she?“Kookie,” my father calls out to me, then rushes toward me, throwing an arm around me. He presses me to his chest, and I swear to the goddess, I want to be still, push him away, and not accept the hug, but my hands wrap around him involuntarily. My mother stands close to us, staring at me with tears shimmering in her eyes. I cannot imagine how they have lived all these years, but I try not to beat myself up or live in their perspective, because I, too, was hurt, and my feelings are valid.“I am sorry, my little girl,” my father mutters as he plants

KOOKIE:Rushing out of the room, I make my way downstairs, where my parents are waiting.“You guys can see her, but do not take off your suits until I am back!” I rush out without waiting for their response.Once outside, I see Donald seated with the driver.“Let’s go back to the Alpha’s mansion now!” I command, making my way toward the vehicle while they both rush behind me, trying to keep up.**Shortly, we arrive back at the mansion, and I waste no time. As soon as I enter the house, I walk up to the first guard.“Tell your Alpha that I would like to see him now!” The guard nods, rushing up the stairs while I make my way to the room Blue is in.I give a gentle knock on the door and wait for her to open it, but she doesn’t.“Blue, it’s Mummy.” The lock clicks as soon as I say this, and I open the door with a wide grin on my face. I have successfully taught her one safety precaution. Even I almost forgot about it, but she didn’t.I lift her up as I walk into the room, then plant a ki

Kookie:After I have made my demand clear to Levi, I find food for Blue. For a moment, I watch my daughter eat happily.“Mummy will be back late,” I say to her, throwing an arm around her neck. She looks up at me slightly and gives a nod. “If you are hungry, you can check the fridge. There are a lot of snacks and sweets in there.” Saying this makes me feel like an irresponsible mother because who lets a six-year-old feed themselves? But desperate times call for desperate measures. My heart is heavy, but I try to push past it. If Levi meets my demands, then I will make my impact on this pack—one he will not forget.“I love you, baby, and I will be back as soon as I can.” Planting a kiss on her forehead, I get to my feet, then grab my bag and make my way to the door.I am still trying to lock the door when Donald clears his throat, startling me.“Alpha Levi would like to see you in his chambers.” I glance at him, pausing for a moment with my hand still on the key. “He is ready to meet y

  • THE ALPHA WANTS ME BACK   ALPHA ELIAS

Kookie:It took me three hours and thirty minutes to come up with both a cure for the virus and a vaccine. The first person to receive the shot was the Luna, followed by Levi. I reduced his dosage—not enough to keep him critically ill, but just enough to ensure he remains in a wheelchair for an extra week. After all, what better fun than watching him unable to use his legs? Plus, I get to stab him violently every day for a week.Everyone without the virus, including myself and Blue, got vaccinated. The news spread quickly across the pack, especially the fact that I would be the youngest council member in history—and a female, to double it. The best part was young girls wanting to meet up with me because they had so many questions, as I had become a role model. This made me happy because my hard work was finally paying off, and it would be difficult for Levi to get a break. With every turn, my name is the first thing that falls from their lips.Today, I finally get back everything that

  • THE ALPHA WANTS ME BACK   HIS SHOTS

Levi:A feeling of embarrassment settles in my chest as Kookie spots me glaring at her and Elias. I wish I could help myself, but seeing him here in the flesh does something to me that I cannot explain. I looked him up earlier because I heard how they both single-handedly built that stupid pack to what it is now. According to my research, his physique was magnificent, and I know I am weird for wanting to know things like that, but I had to know if he was a potential threat to me—and he is. In fact, he looks better in real life, and I might have to get a facial reconstruction to please Kookie.Maybe I am overreacting because I, too, have distinguishable features, but she had his kid, and not mine. It makes me mad and sad at the same time because I brought this on myself. Sitting alone in my room has my mind running wild as I wonder what they could be doing in her room. I cannot tell him to leave because she wants him here, and, fu

  • THE ALPHA WANTS ME BACK   ONE BIG HUG

Kookie:Levi is in his wheelchair when I get to his room. His face narrows as he sees me, and I try to keep mine expressionless. There is nothing much to do here—just give him his shots, then I will be on my way, I say to myself.I move swiftly without really looking at him as I approach the bedside table. There, I lay out the medical supplies neatly. Pulling on a pair of gloves, I snap them securely around my wrists before reaching for the vial of medication. He speaks the moment I pick it up. “Does he really make you happy?”My lashes flutter as I turn to look at Levi.“What?” My face contorts slightly.“Never mind,” he says, and the room falls silent as I turn around, trying not to mind like he asked. With steady hands, I pick up a fresh syringe, remove the protective cap from the needle, and insert it into the vial’s rubber stopper. Then I stop as the question echoe

  • THE ALPHA WANTS ME BACK   THE COUNCIL

LEVI:Three days later, and it is the day of Kookie’s induction. My ability to walk is slowly returning, but I cannot stand for long. I am grateful for life, and I owe it all to the goddess for giving me a second chance, which I hope I do not abuse.I take a deep breath as my maid adjusts the final piece of my robe. The fabric feels heavier than usual, or maybe it’s just the weight of everything that has happened in the past few days. Once she steps back, I glare at myself in the mirror, then give her an assuring nod.“Let the guard in.”She gives a bow as she leaves my room while I wait there with a lot of thoughts running through my mind.A guard walks in shortly, then helps me out of the room until we get outside the house where the ceremony is to take place. The sight before me is breathtaking, with golden lanterns hanging from carved wooden posts, their glow casting soft light over the deep red and black banners bearing

  • THE ALPHA WANTS ME BACK   MARRY ME

Kookie:Hearing my actual name leaves me in shock for a moment. My eyes catch Elias’s, and I can see the twist of confusion on his face. Then I find Levi’s eyes as he is wheeled toward me. This has his writing all over it. I can almost swear he is hiding a smirk. He might think he has won, but this is far from over. When he gets close, I step forward as instructed, then the elder hands him the tablet. Levi stands slowly, handing the tablet to me. As my hands grip the side of the smooth, stony texture, I hold my gaze on him for a moment, but he remains unfazed.“With the power vested in me as a vessel of the goddess, I welcome you into the council, and I hope you serve the pack justly until the goddess calls you home.”The crowd erupts in applause as he says this, but I am nothing close to impressed. He might sound tough and professional, but he is nothing close to that, and only if the pack

  • THE ALPHA WANTS ME BACK   SHE KNOWS

KOOKIE:My blood pressure shoots through the roof when I learn the person who picked up Blue is Levi. I stare at Luna Jasmine, hoping for a good explanation, but she says nothing as I fume with anger. How could she do this to me? I thought she liked me, but it seems she is only trying to sabotage me. Why would she even let Levi near my daughter? I rush to the window, looking out to see Levi’s car pulling up.“I am sorry, Luna Jasmine, but I have to leave.” I take a step towards the door, and she speaks.“I know Levi is her father.”My blood runs cold, freezing me in place as a chill runs up my spine. Involuntarily, my body turns to face her, and I open my mouth to speak, but the words do not come out.“Wha... what are you saying?” I finally ask. Then I shake my head, trying to deny it. “Elias is the father of my child, and we have been together for six years.”Luna Jasmine rolls her eyes.

  • THE ALPHA WANTS ME BACK   FATHERLY LOVE

LEVI:I make payment for Blue while I sit in a corner, honoring the greetings of pack members with my eyes on her as she plays on the bouncing castle. The place is rowdy, with a lot of children, but somehow I can single out her own giggle, which weirdly warms my heart. I can’t tell if it is my connection with Kookie at work, but seeing her daughter happy makes me happy, too.Instead of sulking about my mistakes, I sit there, determined to make the best out of it. Maybe my mother is right, and I have not been man enough. I know Kookie will not just accept an apology, but I will keep trying to work my way to her heart, even if it means giving up all I have. This is what I never knew I needed—a daughter. A daughter from the woman I love. She isn’t even my biological daughter, but the mere fact she belongs to Kookie makes me want to care for her like she is mine. After a moment, she runs to me breathless, with nothing but her socks on.&ldqu

THIRD PERSON POV:Blue is sitting at her desk in class, painting what she assumes is a picture of Elias and her mother. Her teacher, Mrs. Walter, walks up to her, stopping a few inches from her.“Blue,” she calls out in a soft tone, and Blue turns to the sight of the black dress in front of her. She looks up at her teacher, a brown-haired lady in her mid-thirties.“Yes, Mrs. Walter.” A smile forms on Blue’s face as she tries to answer politely, like her mother has taught her.“Your mother is busy, and the Luna has sent someone from the Alpha’s house to come get you.” When she says this, Blue’s face falls, as she had planned to show her mother her drawing. It has been almost a week since Elias left, and she wishes he would live permanently with them, because he makes her mum happier.“Okay, Mrs. Walter,” Blue answers, facing her drawing again.Mrs. Walter understands her tone, so she tries to keep Blue company. She is her latest student, one she is yet to figure out. She isn’t rude, bu

LEVI:The days have been long. Too damn long that I don’t even know how I’m still breathing through it. I wake up, and she’s the first thought. I close my eyes, and she’s still there—always there.Ever since I saw her kiss him, I’ve been trying to claw my way out of whatever hell she left me in, but the way she melted into him like he was the only thing that mattered—I don’t think I’ll ever forget that. I’ve tried to move on. Forced myself to. Got girls to spend the night. Pretty ones. Soft voices, eager hands, but the moment they climb into my space, I cannot even touch them.Their skin feels like acid against mine, and I guess it is my punishment from the goddess. Kookie’s :No matter how much I try, the news about Elias leaving horrifies me. I thought I would be over it this morning, but knowing I will wake up alone in two days makes the worry in my chest weigh me down. The warmth of Elias beside me is the only thing that feels authentic right now, the only comfort in the storm brewing in my heart.I don’t want to open my eyes, don’t want to face the reality that tomorrow, he’ll be gone. Tears slip down the sides of my face, soaking into the pillow beneath my cheek. I try to stifle the sob, but it comes anyway, a soft, aching sound that breaks through the stillness of the room. I feel his presence, still so close, and I reach out instinctively, wanting to hold on to him, to keep him here with me. But when my fingers brush against the empty space beside me, panic floods my chest. My eyes snap open, my breath catching as I sit up in an instant,

  • THE ALPHA WANTS ME BACK   TWO DAYS

THIRD PERSON POV:The sunlight filters through the soft curtains, casting a golden hue across the room. Kookie stirs, her body still curled into Elias, the warmth of his skin blanketing her like safety. For a moment, she lies still, eyes closed, basking in the afterglow of everything they shared the previous night. When her eyes finally flutter open, a smile forms on her lips—wider and more genuine than any she’s worn in weeks. Her heart flutters as her mind replays every moment, every soft touch, every sweet word. The way Elias held her like she was something rare. The way he moved with her—slow, intentional, loving. It was nothing like she had imagined; it was better. So much better. Beside her, Elias stirs too, groaning softly as his arms instinctively tighten around her waist, pulling her back into his chest.“Morning,” he murmurs in a thick voice. Kookie giggles, turning to face him, their

  • THE ALPHA WANTS ME BACK   RAW

KOOKIE:When we get back to the house, I lead the way into my room in silence. He closes the door behind him softly, the click echoing louder than it should. The thoughts in my mind from the morning cloud it again, and I am curious, wanting to know how all of him tastes—not just his lips. Wanting to know how it feels for him to be inside me, the warmth, the pleasure it would bring. I want all of it, but I don’t know if he wants it this fast. I am bent on finding out.He opens his mouth to speak, but I don’t let him. I crash into him, my hands gripping his shirt as I kiss him hard—raw, desperate, and completely unfiltered. It’s not soft or careful. It’s the kind of kiss that demands answers, claims ownership, and leaves no room for doubt. The kind of kiss that says, I need you now.Elias stumbles back slightly, caught off guard, but his hands find my waist, holding me stea

KOOKIE:The drive is quiet, save for the soft hum of the engine and the occasional exhale from Elias. But I can’t stop looking at him. The way his knuckles clench around the steering wheel, the slight furrow between his brows, the sharp line of his jaw. He’s tense, but still here—by my side.I keep watching him out of the corner of my eye, and I can’t hold back anymore.“Why did you come after me when I left?” I ask quietly, eyes still fixed on him. “Why not when I was still in the house?”He doesn’t answer right away. His jaw tenses further, and his grip on the wheel tightens just a little.“I didn’t want to make things worse,” he says eventually, his voice low. “I felt like... if I stopped you in the house, it would lead to another fight. You were upset. Hurt, and I didn’t want to throw fue

  • THE ALPHA WANTS ME BACK   NEAR DEATH

KOOKIE:Regret fills my heart as I leave the room. I hate the fact I said those words to Elias, but the fact he isn’t trying to come after me makes it worse. I begin to question if he truly loves me or if it is an agenda to get me back to the pack because of my skills. When I get outside, I realize we came here in Elias’s car. I do not want to take it, so I walk back into the house, knocking on my parents’ door. My mother answers the door, walking out dressed in her nightgown.“You are heading out?” she questions, and I nod.“I need to get to the alpha’s house. I forgot to give Levi his shot,” I say to her, then her face loosens up. “Did you think I was going to leave immediately with Blue?” I question, and she shrugs.“Well, I just need your car keys. Elias and I are in a bit of a situation, so I cannot ask for his. I am not talking to h
