As we ran through the woods I had only one thing in mind, to lead my mate to safety. My legs were hurting and my chest was aching badly.

For quite a long time we continued without stopping because we knew the warriors must have noticed our disappearance yesterday.

Vision was quiet and refused to talk to me or help us in any way. Despite siding with our mate he had regret over his betrayal to our alpha, that's what was eating him up.

"I can't run anymore." Sherry said in a whining voice for the tenth time.

She stopped in her tracks, making me do the same and look at her seriously.

"Why should I go through all this hell?" She asked as I frowned.

What exactly did she mean by that? Didn't she want to be with me?

"I don't understand." I said under my breath.

"What's there not to understand huh? I didn't sign up for this at all. My plan was to simply kill Ian and have you take the alpha's position, not us running around like some wanted fugitive!" She spat.
