Chapter 34

August's POV

I was woken up by a low groaning that sounded as if someone was in pain. I sat upright and rubbed my eyes a few times before moving to the edge of the bed and grabbing a note that was on the headboard.

I looked at it and then smiled widely.

"I did kiss you, and I'll kiss you again when I knock off from work. Love, Teresa,” I read.

"What a liar," I whispered, and then stood up and went straight to the bathroom to wash my face and clean my teeth with one of the toothbrushes I had brought over.

"Something isn't right," my wolf whispered.

"Everything is fine," I answered, and then walked out of the room.

I was about to go into the living room when I heard a low groan. I quickly turned and rushed into Tanya's bedroom.

She was still lying down on her bed with the coat on her, but this time she was sweating a lot.

I quickly moved closer and knelt down while resting my hand on her forehead.

She had no fever, yet her expression looked as if she was in pain.
