AN INTRUDER

BLADE’S POV

“Let’s take a five minutes break.”

I watched sounds of pleasure erupt from the crowd of soldiers at my words as they all quickly dispersed. They were all obviously exhausted and so was I.

We had all been training like maniacs ever since the night the vampire king declared war against us. We had no option but to slack and as a result, got used to pushing ourselves until we were at our limit.

That morning was no different as we had started training as early as 6 am. It was going hectic as usual until I noticed how exhausted they all were and had no choice but to have us take a break.

“No,” I said in a loud voice, changing my mind. “Let’s make that a fifteen minutes break.”

Again, sounds of pleasure filled the air and I managed to smile at myself. They didn’t all deserve to train like crazy especially when it was for something so unavoidable yet caused by me.
