While I'm here inside my room. Someone knocked on the door. I stood up and immediately opened it.

Jax is standing there carrying a tray with a lot of food. My eyes went big because of the different kinds of food he put in the tray.

It's like these foods are for a week already. He gets inside and places it on the table beside the bed.

“This is a lot, it's not that I will not get out here for a whole week.” I said unbelievably.

“You need to eat a lot, Aurora. I need you to be stronger beside me.” he said with a serious look on his face. He seems to be conveying something I didn't know. What a bossy alpha I got.

“Here” He gets the bite size of something that looks like chocolate and places it in front of my mouth.

I hesitated at first but he won't remove it not until I open my mouth. “This tastes good, mom made it, this is called brownies.” I eat it and munch until I finish it.

“Yeah, it tastes good.” I said and got another one myself.

He nodded and reminded me again to eat everything or half of it if I can't finish all the food he put in the tray.

He got out of the room and I sat at the bedside and started eating some of it. But what I like the most is the one he offered earlier.

I eat everything I like and leave those I'm not familiar with.

I was eating peacefully when I felt itchy and started to catch my breath. It feels like I'll lose consciousness any moment. I tried to reach for the glass of water but I ended up falling down and my chest started to feel tight.

Before I could fully close my eyes, I saw Jax run towards me and hold me with his arms. He lifted me up and when I felt the bed in my back, that's when I passed out.

*****

I felt something in my cheeks that made me awake.

“Yesha, you wake her up.” I heard while my eyes were still closed.

“I didn't mom, look she's still sleeping beautifully.” the young girl said in a cute voice.

I don't know if I should wake up already or not. But I sense that the Alpha’s family is just around the corner. I felt shy if they were really here inside the room.

I feel that someone is beside me.

“I know you're awake, it's fine they're not gonna eat you.” someone whispered and I know it's Jax the alpha. how did he know that I'm awake?! Are his senses that powerful?!

We have different senses, maybe he has everything while us or should we call an ordinary werewolf only have 1 or 2 senses.

And it depends if your parents have powerful genes, which you will possibly inherit their power and such. While me, I think I have what my father has. But still, I need to discover myself more.

I moved to where he whispered while my eyes were still close, that made him accidentally kiss my forehead. Yesha who noticed giggling from what she witnessed.

I slowly opened my mouth and looked at him then mouthed I'm sorry. He just smiled and patted my head.

I sat down from the bed while Jax supported me from behind. I roam my eyes around the corner of the room.

“Such a beautiful fine lady. How are you?” An old woman asked, I think she is his mom, maybe she's in her 40’s. She's beautiful despite her age.

“I feel good ma'am.” I said with respect. I still know my boundaries, I'm just a slave, I should stay at my line.

“I'm sorry, I didn't know that you are allergic to peanuts. And Jax didn't know about it either.” His mom said with an apologetic face.

I myself didn't even know it either. I wasn't aware that I have allergies. Though it was my first time eating peanuts, that's why.

“It's fine ma'am, I wasn't also aware that I am allergic to peanuts. And I'm sorry for the inconvenience.” I said with worries in my eyes and look down because I felt embarrassed.

“It's okay hija, we understand. And we should also take responsibility because I am the one who made the food you eat a while ago. Good thing we're still here when Jax suddenly run towards your room and he said that you past out.” his mom explains.

I was a bit shocked because of the part where Jax senses what just happened to me. It explains when he harshly opened the door and was running towards me.

“I gave you an antidote for allergies which is why the redness on your skin is almost gone.” her sister said.

“Thank you.” I said and she smiled and nodded at me.

“Hey beauty, are you good now?” the young girl asked me. Jax’s mom and sister laugh at how she asks me. “Can we play next time I come here?

I held her cheeks and nodded at her. She giggles while her eyes are sparkling. She's cute and beautiful just like her mom.

They said goodbye already since they still have something to do. And I thank them once again for their kindness and taking care of me. They even waited for me to wake up just to make sure I'm okay.

The alpha and I are now left here inside the room. He caresses my cheeks and fixes my hair. "I'm sorry I didn't know that you are allergic to it." he said worriedly.

"I also don't know that I am allergic to peanut Alpha, so it's fine it's no one's fault." I assured him about that.

“From now on, peanuts are not allowed here in the house. And I will tell my mens to check every item that will be delivered here. So that peanut can't harm you again.” he said in a low soothing voice.

“No, it's okay to still have peanuts here. I will just avoid eating some foods that have peanuts.” I insisted. Since I am the only one that is allergic to it. So I will just be careful next time.

“Stop it Aurora if you just saw yourself struggling earlier. You will understand me.”

I bow down my head because of the guilt I feel. I felt like I had become a responsibility to him.

“I'm sorry Alpha, I will be more careful next time to avoid being a burden to you. I'm just a slave, I'm not your responsibility to care for.”

I am very embarrassed in front of him. I can't even look into his eyes while saying those words.

“I didn't even formally meet your parents and sister. and I wasn't able to formally introduce myself to them. They just met me in this kind of situation which is not formal. What a bad meeting of the alpha’s family.” I said worriedly and finally had the guts to look in his eye while muttering those words to him.

“It's fine Aurora, they can always come here and you can formally introduce yourself next time. Don't worry that much hmm.” he said with so much comfort.

“Thank you so much, Alpha.” I said with sincerity in my eyes.

“Stop calling me Alpha, I already told you to call me by my name. Do you want me to do that again for you to call my name instead?” he said and I felt my cheeks getting red because of what he just said.

“Where are you going, Alpha?” Aurora asked worriedly, confusion evident in my eyes.“I need to find answers… I need to know what’s behind Amelia’s attack.”His eagerness to understand what happened to Amelia was palpable; Jaxon was truly acting like an Alpha.“Can I come with you?” she asked, equally determined to find the truth.“No, Aurora, it’s not safe for you.”“But it’s not safe for me to be alone here. My mind races, conjuring images I desperately try to push away. Was it a random act of violence? Or was she targeted? Did she stumble onto something she shouldn't have? The uncertainty is a gnawing beast in my gut. Unease gnawed at me, so I decided to visit Amelia at the clinic. But first, I needed Jaxon's permission before leaving the mansion. I approached him hesitantly, finding him engrossed in a mountain of papers at his desk. "Hey, are you busy?" I asked shyly. He looked up slowly, setting down a document. Even in that serious state, he was strikingly handsome. The thought brought an involuntary smile to my lips. He muttered, a hint of amusement in his serious tone, "Not terribly. And what's with that s

"Kael, who found Amelia at the lighthouse?" Jaxon's voice was sharp, cutting through the usual banter that filled their training grounds. He'd arrived, his usual easy gait replaced by a grim determination. Kael shifted uneasily, his gaze flitting around the familiar training area. "It was Jade. We were searching the area systematically, you know, covering every inch. Then Jade shouted, saying he saw someone lying unconscious. We ran over, and… it was Amelia. I recognized her immediately. I told the others to look for clues, to see what happened, while some of us called for backup to get her to the clinic. We searched, but… we found nothing. Absolutely nothing. So, I ran to your house to tell you, but you were with your parents. Aurora was there, so I brought her with me." He paused, his voice dropping to a near whisper. "It was… unsettling, Alpha. Very unsettling." Jaxon's eyes narrowed. He felt a prickle of unease, a nagging sense that something wasn't right. Kael's acc

And that creepy feeling… like someone was watching, a prickling sensation at the back of my neck that wouldn't go away. I swirled the ice in my glass clinking a brittle counterpoint to the frantic rhythm of my heart. I'd grilled everyone at the party, but their denials felt hollow, like carefully constructed lies. The memory of that shadow, flitting through the dimly lit corners, the unsettling flicker of eyes… it wasn't just my imagination. BAM! A harsh knock on the door jolted me. My breath hitched. It wasn't a polite tap; this was urgent, demanding. "Jaxon! Jaxon, open up!" Jared's voice, usually easygoing, was strained, laced wi
