Jasmine's POV My eyelids flickered open lazily. Initially, it was him whispering and then actually groaning, it was obvious that Asher was awake. "Who was that?" I demanded as I rolled on my back lazily. Oddly, he yelped. "Whoa!" He sighed softly, turning off the screen on his phone. I took in a deep breath, waiting for his response. Something had to be up to see him up by this time of the night and even groaning, refraining from yelling at the person on the other side of the phone. "You're awake." He stopped pacing after a while. "How long have you been awake?" "Long enough to know you're troubled," I responded, trying my best to be audible. "Never mind." He tried to dismiss the case. "Babe," I managed to sit up, still cladding the bed sheet to my chest. "Really, what is the matter?" I didn't let it slide so easily. "Nothing you should worry about." He said, even though his voice was laced with a fine mix of anger and terror. Clearly, everything wasn't okay on his end. And
Jasmine's POV In the kitchen, I stirred up a mix of soy sauce, and in the other pan, there was a thick rice pudding cooker on a simmer. Since my father had major surgery, it was suggested that he only eat something light, and giving him steaks and chili and bread was out of context. Of course, while making theirs, I had a larger pot of chocolate pudding for my four babies with lots of milk, and it was because of their big sweet tooth. "Mum?!" Ethan exclaimed as he rushed to me and hugged my legs. "Hey, boy," I ruffled his hair, aware that he was only her to see how long he'd have to wait for him to satisfy his vanity. He was one heck of a foodie and regardless, he was the smallest amongst all three of them. He leaned in further, poking my thigh with his chin. "I'm hungry." He groaned, hitting the nail on the head. "I know, my baby," I pouted. "Food is almost ready, and guess what mum is making." I teased him. "You get an extra portion if you get it right," I added a price. "M
Jasmine's POV It was the weekend, so we didn't have to worry about taking the kids to school until it was past 2 PM when they had to attend their private lessons. After much persuasion, Asher let go of his naughty plans for us and allowed me time to fill up the flask to the point I wanted it to be. He served four dishes of the chocolate pudding with the full liquid milk added generously, and took them to the dining area, where he and the kids feasted while I did the last part of the tidying up.Done, I arranged them in a bag, returned back to my room to take a proper shower, and dressed up casually for the occasion. It took roughly an hour to be done with all of that before I headed back to the kitchen to carry the arranged flasks. "Alright, darling," I gave Asher a soft feather-like kiss on his lips, before turning to my kids and pecking their heads one at a time. "See y'all later," I spoke up. "Alright, mum." They managed as their mouths were stuffed with a generous amount of t
Jasmine's POV "Hey, mum Emily." Rylee teased as she dropped the napkin she was using to wipe dust off the dining table and rushed off to hug me. I simply laughed and hugged her, cladding her tightly to my chest. We swayed left and right, glued to each other. "If I'm mum Emily, what happens to Ezra and Ethan?" I demanded. "I see you're picking sides already." I frowned. "Not really, I just happen to find Emily more fun to be with." Rylee defended smoothly. "Plus, they will never have any clue unless you want to go about singing our little secret." She ropes me in. "Our?" I scoffed. "Little secret?" I started laughing, snorting halfway through. "I see you've involved me so I can easily be blackmailed." I exposed her plan effortlessly. "No..." She chuckled. "Alright, please?" She demanded still. "Fine," I scanned all over her home, especially the empty dining area. "On one condition, that you make me lunch." I spilled without waiting for her to ask me what it was. "Jeez! Really?!
Jasmine's POV "Ain't you joining me?" I demanded as I ate alone while Ryless simply watched me and played with her phone a few times she was bored. "No," She said bluntly. "I've had something in my stomach already and I feel full." She gave a detailed explanation while she dismissed my offer. "Fair enough," I admitted as I finished the large bowl of steaks. As expensive as the shit was, I got to eat enough of it. Rylee and Liam weren't just rich, but they were equally as generous. Fulfilling my naughty fantasies, I finished all of the steaks and drank the white soup in a small portable bowl, before going for the cornbread and chili sauce. It was a whole storm that Rylee made, this wasn't just because of a dumb secret. "Thanks, dearie," I told her genuinely, and oops! I forgot to mention, that Rylee's culinary skills had improved so much I could have sworn that a chef made it for her. It was either she had been watching cooking videos online, or Liam got her a teacher because the
Jasmine's POV "Is she serious?" I questioned rhetorically because I knew Rylee so much that I could tell when she was serious or not. The Rylee I saw in there was not having fun in any way, matter of fact, she was dead serious, and so were her threats. I needed to do things my own way, even though I knew it could cause trouble for us in the future. Perhaps, Rylee was the push I needed to do the right thing. I remained immobile in my car, as I merely clutched tightly on the wheel, with my palm thickly creased with sweat. Even in my fully air-conditioned car, I was feeling suffocated. It was over ten minutes since I left Rylee, but I was still in my car and outside her compound. For some reason, I didn't seem to care if she walked out and met me there."Gosh!" I sighed loudly, remembering the three-day ultimatum she gave me. To her, she was not just concerned for me, but for the kids and Asher as well. There was no doubt that mingling with Sebastian and anything that belonged to hi
Asher's POV Noticing how uneasy she was, I took her by the arm, led her to a couch, and made her sit gently. She was suddenly agitated, and it got me worried because somehow, I had succeeded in yielding to her thesis that Sebastian would not come for us. Seeing her like this only got me worried. Perhaps, she had seen him outside and he had tried to harm her. Unsettled, I squatted right in front of her, with my hands on her knees as I beckoned for her to shake off the gloomy mood and let me in. "Babe?" I whispered softly. "If you're not ready, we could wait...""They asked me to be alpha and I agreed." She read off her recitation like a rapper. Immediately she was done, she kept absolutely mute and began to fidget, trembling so profusely like she would melt away. Too uncomfortable, she adjusted from one butt to another, unsure if to just get away from me and my confused look. "I don't get you." I managed after a few minutes of trying to make sense of what she spilled. I was sur
Chapter one hundred and thirty two: Men Don't Sulk Asher's POV For a while, I remained rooted in the same spot right in front of Liam's door. Liam was my first port of call when I was in a bad mood, not alcohol or the beach or driving. I had called him on my way to his house and he informed me that he was at home even though he had just gotten back from work. In addition, Rylee was at home too. After wiping the last tear drop off my moist cheek with the back of my palm, I rang the doorbell once and then twice, before waiting for their response."Oh, big man!" Liam exclaimed, grabbed my hand, and pulled me in for a big hug. "You're here already." He said, before releasing me to close the door. "It seems like you're expecting someone else," I started from my observations. "Not really, but Rylee went grocery shopping and I thought it was here for a second." He said and led me to the couch. "Oh, I see." I just bluffed. "Do make yourself comfortable." He motioned for me to sit down
