Before Ciel knew it, he was already inside the hospital where Andrew was admitted.

Without asking where Andrew's room is, they already headed towards it. On Ciel's left side was Marcus, and on his other side was Maverick. There were also four guards tagging along with them, two on the front and two on the back.

Ciel could feel the gazes of the hospital employees as well as the patients, who were surely from the high society too, just like the two men beside him. After all, the hospital they were in was the kind of hospital people from the middle and lower classes could not afford. They could hear them whispering in each other's ears while glancing at them, or more specifically, at him. And the glances given at him were definitely not just out of curiosity. There were hidden emotions in it—emotions he does not even want to name as it would only make him feel angry and more miserable than he already was.

“You should make yourself get used to this kind of attention, as this will only be

"Mi-Mister Marcus..." Andrew said in shock; his eyes opened up so widely that Ciel thought it would drop to the floor. His lips started quivering as if he were out in the cold for hours, even though he seemed to be fine just a second ago and even had the chance to yell at the sudden and harsh opening of his room's door."It seems that we surprised you so much you couldn't even greet me properly," Marcus said while smiling, although you can feel that his smile was far from being genuine.Andrew immediately got down from his bed and stood with his head hanging down while facing Marcus. "I... I’m sorry, Mister Marcus. I was not made aware that you would be coming. If I knew you would be visiting, I could have prepared more—”Marcus cut off Andrew’s sentence with, "Are you saying I should have asked for your permission first before coming to visit you?”Andrew immediately raised his head, wanting to look at Marcus. But the moment he met the old Garcia’s eyes, fear quickly filled his face,

"You seemed to be doing well now. I guess my grandson was lying when he said he was beating you to death," Marcus said in a casual voice.Maverick immediately chimed in. "I was not—" but was cut off by his grandfather."Are you not going to offer us a seat?" Marcus asked Andrew, whose eyes widened again as if he had just realized he had committed another mistake.Andrew immediately went to the couch and cleaned it with his bare hands, which was quite an unsightly scene to see.The truth is, Andrew actually looks far from doing well. There were still a few bandages on his face. His nose seemed to have been broken, and there were cuts on his swollen lips. His eyes and his cheeks were swollen as well, and the bruises all over his face could be clearly seen. Overall, Andrew looked so different that if someone told him Andrew was in the middle of reconstructing his face, he would believe it. And so seeing someone, who was badly hurt to the point he couldn't be recognized anymore, doing a b

Andrew’s eyes bulged, and his mouth formed into a huge O as he felt Ciel’s strong punch land on his gut.His eyes that had just started becoming clear became blurry again as he put his hands on the part of his stomach where Ciel’s punch landed. He also felt like he had turned deaf because of the pain he was experiencing.Andrew knew that Ciel wouldn’t even think twice about punching someone whose status is way higher than his. The little omega has always been known as someone who was so brave and so bold that he doesn’t give even a single fuck about hierarchy. But what Andrew did not expect was the pain brought by that single punch, making him go teary while groaning in ache. But of course, if Andrew was in his perfect state, there was no way a punch from Ciel would affect him so much. But because his body was still weak, even though it was his face who got more damage, as that’s where Maverick focused his punches, even a light jab would be enough to cause him pain. And Ciel seemed to

"That's it? That's just what you wanted to say?" Maverick asked Ciel the moment they got out of the room.Ciel walked towards the nearest hospital bench and sat on it. Maverick followed him and sat right beside him, facing him, and started asking him annoyingly again."Are you really content with just doing that? You could have punched him more! Give him a couple of kicks, slap his face, or pull his head until he goes bald, just like what you initially thought! You did not even say much! Grandpa told you to give him a piece of your mind, and yet you did not even do that.""I did!" Ciel answered. "I gave him a piece of my mind. Everything I told him was what I really thought. And don't ask me about why I did not go physical with him. I already told you guys before coming here that I wouldn't do such things!"Maverick sighed exasperatedly as he leaned his back on the backrest of the benches and looked up, the back of his head touching the white walls of the hospital. “I still think that

"What is that?" Ciel asked with a frown when Marcus Garcia handed him a piece of paper."A contract," Marcus answered while still holding the paper and was giving it to the little omega, who was clearly hesitating. "Take a look at it and tell me if there's anything you're not satisfied with so we can change it."The frown on Ciel's face deepened. "What contract are you talking about? What is the contract for?""How about a look at it first?" Marcus asked back. But Ciel quickly rejected him. "Not until you tell me what kind of contract that is," he firmly said.Seriously, he doesn't want to be with them anymore and simply wants to go home. But fear overcame him, so when Marcus Garcia asked him to join them again, he could only nod. And now they're inside Marcus Garcia's office at the Garcia family's ancestral home, with the other Garcia's nowhere to be seen because Marcus had told them not to come, and the old man wants to give him a contract for which he has no idea what it is.'Could

“Go on,” Marcus said when Ciel was still hesitating. The little omega turned to look at Maverick, seemingly looking for his reaction.“Just take a look at it, and whatever you decide, we’ll respect it,” Maverick said, and then looked at his grandfather. “Right, grandpa?”Marcus slightly smiled and nodded. “Of course.”The little omega looked at the piece of paper on the table again. He just stared at it for a couple of minutes before he sighed deeply and finally took it to take a look at its content.Ciel didn’t really want to read the said contract, as he was not even in the slightest interested in it. The deal he had with Maverick was already enough. But looking at Marcus Garcia, he knew he wouldn’t be able to leave without having to read and discuss the contract. Besides, he wanted to hold on to what Maverick said—that they will respect whatever he decides to do after reading the contract. Even if that wasn’t Marcus Garcia’s intention, Ciel could at least believe in Maverick. The l

“Are you ready?” Maverick asked Ciel, who was sitting in the passenger seat of Maverick's car.Unlike the other day, when Maverick would only take Ciel to the bus terminal and the little omega would take the bus afterwards, the two actually came together, of course riding in Maverick's car, which everyone recognizes, and they were already in the parking lot, about to get out and face the people who appeared to be waiting for them.“Well, I don't have a choice but to be ready, do I?” The little omega answered. He meets Maverick's eyes. “How about you? Are you ready for this?”Maverick grinned confidently and said, “Baby, I was born to do this. Of course, I am ready.”Ciel rolled his eyes before looking at their fellow students outside. “Don't ever call me baby again, especially when we are in the crowd. That's so cringey!”But Maverick just laughed and answered, “Sure, baby.” Clearly, he was teasing the little omega, who just rolled his eyes again and shook his head.Ciel took a very d

It was already eleven-thirty when Ciel’s class ended, which was the right time to have lunch. He was busy gathering his things so that he could immediately leave when a group of men and women started approaching him.“Hey,” one of the women said in a very rude manner. The way she stared at Ciel was also filled with hostility. It was clear what they wanted. They wanted to confront Ciel about his relationship with Maverick. And he thought just a while ago that no one would be dumb enough to trouble him after hearing the old Garcia’s announcement.Ciel couldn’t help but sigh and thought, ‘I guess I was not entirely right, and Maverick was not entirely wrong either. There really are still some idiots who will try to approach me despite Marcus Garcia’s warning.’“Did you not hear me? Are you deaf?” The rude woman asked again before trying to push Ciel on the chest. But Ciel was quick enough to take a step back so that the disrespectful could not touch him.He zipped his bag and finally loo

"Did you like the food? Did it suit your taste?" Jasmine asked a few moments after she and Ciel sat side by side on a wooden cleopatra bench. The two were on the balcony and were facing the huge gate and the green lawn. In front of them was a wooden table, where they put the bottle of wine and two wine glasses that they had brought from the dining room a few moments after eating. As for Maverick, he was left in the dining room, washing the dishes as a form of punishment.Ciel actually thought that Jasmine would ask him about the taste of the food she cooked every time he would try each one of them since she was so eager for Ciel to have a taste of them, but she did not. She would just glance at him for a minute with a smile on her face, then she would go back to focusing on her own. And it's obviously because she didn't want to disturb Ciel while eating and make him feel uncomfortable by her staring and questioning, and Ciel was grateful for that. Because of it, he was able to taste a

Ciel would be lying if he said that he did not salivate and gulp several times the moment he saw the table that was filled with many delicious-looking foods. The long, narrow, and glass-made dinner table was filled with so much food. There were some foods that were familiar to him, but there were also a number of unfamiliar foods. They all looked good, though, that he suddenly felt like he was starving even though he was not. With so many foods on the table, Ciel looked at Jasmine and couldn't help but ask. “Is it really just going to be us?”Maverick had already informed him that the house they would be heading to this time would be his parents’ own house and not his grandfather’s home. He was also informed that this time, it would just be him, Maverick, and his parents, which somehow made Ciel feel a bit better and was also the reason why Maverick was able to urge him to accept Jasmine’s dinner invitation, as he was still hesitant at first. He thought that at least he was only going

You witnessed it yesterday, how I faced them with my head held high. Is that how a person that was scared as shit would look like?”“No,” Maverick answered. He knew that’s what Ciel wanted to hear.“Right. So you better not ask me that stupid question again. You already asked me that yesterday, and I don’t need to hear it again tomorrow or anytime we get here. Understood?”Maverick sighed. “Yes, sir.”“Good. Now, let’s go.” Ciel then walked out of the car without waiting for Maverick, who immediately got out of his car to follow Ciel. But before Ciel could enter the building, he halted to turn around and look at Maverick, who was only a step behind him.Maverick stopped walking as well and frowned. “What?”“You won’t be following me to my class, will you?”Maverick couldn’t answer

After telling Maverick that he was grateful to him for loving him unconditionally, Ciel just stared at the speechless Maverick. He looked like he was not really expecting him to say such words. And Ciel would admit that what he said was out of the blue as well. Even he himself did not expect he would be saying such words. So what more for Maverick? He must be so confused as to why he has suddenly changed his attitude towards him.But even if Maverick asked him, Ciel wouldn't be able to give him an answer because he also didn't know."What if..." Maverick finally spoke, causing Ciel to focus his attention on him again. He looked into Maverick's eyes, and he saw something in there. An emotion that was somehow familiar but was also kind of new to him. “Never mind,” Maverick said after a while, then leaned his back on the backrest and looked up ahead.Ciel could tell that he had a lot going on inside his head, but Ciel decided to not ask anymore. "Don't call them family," Maverick said after a while, prompting Ciel to look at him. "Do not call them your family because they do not deserve that title. A family wouldn't do all the shitty things they did to you. Real parents would never use their child for their own convenience and for their own selfish desire. Real parents would never hurt their child and would protect them instead. Real parents would never treat their child like a useless thing just because of his second gender. So don't call their family. God, they don't even deserve to be called a mother and a father. Because everything they've done to you? All those shitty things? All of that is something a mother and a father would do towards their child. They are fucked-ups! Yeah, that's what they are. A total fuck-ups! A nutcase! God, I hope they never get rich! I hope they never get any freaking connection! I hope their dreams don't fucking come true! I hope they never become happy!"Maverick was gritting his teeth, and h

Ciel had already stopped crying, and yet he remained leaning on Maverick while taking in the scent of his pheromones.Ciel knew himself that he was acting differently. If it were the usual Ciel, he would have already gotten away from Maverick or pushed him away. Hell, he wouldn’t even allow him to hug him and surround him with his pheromones. He doesn't exactly know what the reason was; it might be because of Maverick's pheromones, or it could be the words that touched his heart, but Ciel didn't want to separate himself from Maverick yet. There were warning signs popping in his head, but he chose to disregard them all because the beating of his heart was much louder than those warning signs, and the comfort brought by Maverick's warm embrace and pheromones was definitely stronger than his resolve to listen to what his mind was telling him.Ciel closed his eyes. And without even him realizing it, he was already pushing his body even closer to Maverick until his head was already leaning

Ciel had already given up on wanting to know what Maverick was talking about. If it's something very important, then he doesn't need to know it.But then Maverick raised his head to meet his eyes. And there goes that smile again.Ciel silently chastised himself. 'Be still, you stupid heart. Why are you even reacting like that? It was just his damn usual smile! Ah, damn this bond! I really need to do something about this! I can't be acting like this all the time whenever Maverick does something!'“I’m sorry. I got lost in my own thoughts,” Maverick said in a soft voice.Ciel, disregarding the abnormal beating of his heart, replied, “It’s fine. And you don’t have to answer my question if you don’t want to. I understand that it’s confidential, so it’s fine if you don’t tell me.”Maverick raised his brow. “Didn’t you tell me that I have to answer all of the questions that you’ll throw at me?” Amusement was dancing in Maverick’s eyes as he asked that question.“Well, let's just say that I

The two sat in the living room, facing each other, and had a serious look on both of their faces."I'll start asking—""Before that," Maverick cut Ciel again, making the little omega's face turn sour, but Maverick was not bothered by it and just went on speaking. "I know you're still pissed, but I want the both of us to talk about this with a clear head. What I'm about to tell you is something that should be taken seriously, as it could possibly change your future, and most importantly, it could save your life. So please, Ciel, let's calm down, alright? Just like the last time we had a conversation in this same living room, let's converse in a more peaceful and calmer manner." Maverick's voice was soft and gentle, making it look like he was talking to a kid and not to Ciel, who was already an adult.Although Ciel was still annoyed, he couldn't deny that Maverick was right. Talking in a peaceful manner was definitely something they should do if it involved his future and his life.Ciel

As usual, Ciel left the convenience store at exactly ten o'clock, though he was a bit faster this time.He could feel that his co-worker, who was about to take his shift, had a lot of questions to ask him, just like his previous co-worker, so before he got bombarded by another series of questions again, he immediately bid goodbye and exited the convenience store as if someone was chasing him.Ciel was briskly walking with his head down, afraid that people would recognize him. And thankfully, he was already near the bus stop, and no one has recognized him yet, making him feel somewhat less nervous.Just a few more steps and Ciel would already reach the bus stop.A few minutes after that, Ciel stopped walking as he would have to cross the street since the bus stop was on the other side.
