CHAPTER 10: "THE ALPHA'S KING" is Dead

The morning was still early when the sun had rose up the hills, even though it was still early one could see the chills as the wind blew scattering up dust in the hills. The trees swayed slowly in response to the wind rhythm, its solid body stayed rooted in the soil. Rustling of leaves soon filled the atmosphere, as a ferocious wind blew suddenly, dirty particles defiled the law of gravity but all soon died down.

Suddenly, seven hoodied individuals began emerging from the corners of the forest, each wearing a hood which covered half of their facial appearance.

"What do we do next?"

One of them suddenly spoke up, his deep guttural voice booming so loudly in the forest.

"We wait until the right time."

A calm voice yet of imposing danger said.

"The humans mustn't know we're back to finish what we started."

Another voice said, you could sense the dangerous aura emanating from him as he spoke. They held each other hands and vanished from sight immediately leaving only sizzling sound behind.

I woke up quite early that morning as a guard came to inform me earlier then that Damien had requested to have breakfast with me. I took some extra time in dressing myself up. This was the first time I was trying to make myself more appealing in front of a man who I barely knew.

My father was very strict in my choice of suitors, never for once did he let me off the palace. I wasn't allow to choose for myself, sometimes i wondered if this is how other princesses live.

Having to rule by the rules of their fathers, she remembered the popular tales she heard about princesses who defy their father's orders. She remembered one she was told when she was 10 then.

It was about Princess Talia who loved her

personal guard, Quinn who also began developing feelings for her which was forbidden. Their feelings grow stronger day by day, they both knew it was forbidden but they couldn't help but fall in love helplessly with each other.

Suddenly, one day the King knew about it through whispers coming from the maids and other guards. He was angered most especially to Quinn, her guard. It was forbidden for a Princess to fall in love with slaves or a common man. But they still went ahead despite the rules.

"Are you still missing your mother?"

A familiar voice suddenly interrupted her trail of thoughts. Even though her back was turned on him she could smell his spicy scent.

She only nodded her head in approval to cover up, the tales which had always kept her grounded.

"I'll make sure you meet her very soon."

He assured turning and get grip of her waist turning her towards him, she felt his icy thumb caressing her hair, his hands trailed down to her shoulder and she found herself whimpering in the butterflies which had evolved earlier.

"Please end my sleepless nights."

She heard his hoarse voice still shuddering under his warmth.

"W....wh...what do yyou mean ?"

She asked alarmed not afraid though but her mind was going haywire at that time. Her thinking process has been clouded by the pleasure she felt.

"I mean I want to have you tonight."

He whispered into her ear, his breathe on her.

Looking at the girl who had given me a sleepless nights since she came. For the first time, I couldn't control my wolf and Demon altogether. It was pretty tough but today I was clouded by my myriad of emotions which was swirling in me.

I have always been at bay but recently she not only gave me sleepless nights but also invaded my dream also, not one night go if I didn't dream of her. Something was restless in me, wishing to take over but I couldn't deny the fact that i was a bit scared, if not extremely.

Suddenly, I heard the sound of trumpet blown. With my prenatural ears I could only hear two words.

"King"....."Dead"

My Father.... Alarmed, i rushed out and headed in the direction of the Castle with different thoughts in my mind. But I was feeling guilty, I remembered my promise to him. I would find the cure but I couldn't find it not even a glimpse.

"Will you kill your brothers to attain the throne?"

I remembered my father last words to me, seeing so much pain and guilt in his eyes. Then it occurred to me, the pain of losing someone you cherished is greater.

"Going somewhere?"

I suddenly heard a voice behind me,

Lucian... I growled now really pissed off.

"Not now brother!"

I cautioned.

"Do you really think that now that father is dead you stand a chance?"

He smirked and i could tell what was going on in his mind even though I couldn't read them, he was my blood.

"Are you now happy huh.... Little Alpha King"

I mocked bowing slightly as a result to irritate him and I guess it worked because I could see the twirl in his eyeebut he kept it at bay.

"Brother watch your back!"

He warned before leaving, I was oblivious to the fact that he was slightly angered by me calling him a "Little Alpha King"

I sighed...

The thought of bloodsheds made my demon swirled in delight but it soon noticed my sadness and soon kept it happiness to itself. I was paying my last obeisance to my father.

Not long enough, I reached the place where my father laid lifeless, even though his eyes were closed I could seen he struggled to keep on with life and pains but somehow his inner mind was urged that he was relieved from the pains which had not diminished over the years.

I could sense the intense glares coming from my brothers, Lucian and Arthur. I couldn't believe they were actually like this even after his death they couldn't try atleast end this enmity as a sign of last respect to my father.

Luckily for them, I can give up the throne for Lucian since he was the first breed but his enmity towards will make him do something really drastic to have me out of the way. I don't know what he has promised Arthur bit poor him he would die in the end.

He knew his brother to be the quite ambitious one using individuals to his advantage. He knew two had to die among the three of them before one can sit on the throne. It was a practiced tradition which can be abolished but instead people goes on with it even his father.

He was left with no choice even he knew it will be tough altogether.
