Outside the grim façade of the organization's base, where Lucas, Caleb, and Elena were standing, the air felt thick with tension. Weighing heavily upon his shoulders was the weight of their mission to save Marcus. But this time, the danger had loomed larger than ever before. He cast a glance at Caleb, who fidgeted at his side.

"Let's go," Lucas snarled, letting his wolf free.

"Yep, let's ride," Caleb said, but there was an undernote in his voice that didn't set right with Lucas.

He nodded, and in an instant, the wolf took precedence. In a second, his senses sharpened, and everything around him came into focus. The scents of the forest faded to be dominated by the sharp sterile smell of metal overlaid by the faint scent of fear wafting from the facility.

As they moved, Lucas could hear Elena whisper a few instructions before they broke into the compound. "I'll disable the security systems from the outside. You two take care of the guards."

Lucas nodded, eyes narrowed. "Be careful, Elen

The moon was low in the sky, hanging like a lantern of silver among the dark trees. In an instant, he transformed into wolf form: his eyes sharp, bright with tension, and ready to rise up against Sarah and her men. There is growling building in his throat that tightens for the fight and spills between the trees. A fight calling into question his allegiance, power, and confidence. On the other side, Sarah was ice-cold and motionless. "You've just made a big mistake, Lucas," she jeered; her voice cut like a sharp crack of a whip. "You can't protect them all.".Lucas little time to say a word. Flung himself forward, snapping his claws out in a tearing arc of air; thus the wolf form danced with deadly grace, ripping through the first rank of the guards with pitiless efficiency. Blood splattered the earth, but others came to replace the fallen; they ringed him, armed with blades topped by silver that would tell his kind.Caleb joined him in the fight, fluidly changing into his wolf form. Blood and snarls filed the air. He launched himself at another of the guards, his claws slicing through whatever armor was supposed to protect the man like it was paper. His wolf senses took over, driving his actions, but his brain swirled with a tempest of thoughts.Where is Caleb?" Lucas growled under his breath as his eyes flashed across the chaotic scene. Just moments before, Caleb was at his side; he was fighting the guards alongside him. But there was no sign of him anywhere. An uneasy feeling that had grown inside his gut just seemed to build up.Suddenly, a movement in the shadows caught his eye. There, just beyond the battle, Lucas spotted Caleb. But he wasn't fighting. He was standing with one of the organization's leaders, speaking in hushed tones. Lucas's heart sank as he watched Caleb gesture toward him and the others, the look on his face cold and calculating."No," Lucas whispered, his chest tightening. "It can't be."He had felt there was something not quite right abou

The air was thick in the complex, the weight of tension heavy inside it. In front of Caleb, Lucas was standing, his eyes shining as bright as the form of a wolf, the muscles of his body tightly knotted with anger."Leave now, Caleb," Lucas growled. His voice was deep and hoarse, speaking on behalf of the pack. "You're not welcome around us anymore."Caleb stared at him a moment, his face unreadable. For one second, it seemed he would argue, before he simply nodded, backing away slowly."You think this is the end?" Caleb sneered, his voice low and dangerous. "It's only the beginning, Lucas. You have no idea what you're up against."Lucas clenched his fists, the tips curled into talons. He didn't have words, and he was using every single ounce of willpower not to leap on Caleb and rip him to shreds, but it wasn't time. They had bigger issues: Marcus was turning into a monster, and Sarah was closing in.Without another word, Caleb whirled and vanished into the darkness, leaving Lucas and

The air was thick with tension as Marcus stumbled down the narrow corridor, his body racked by the force of the transformation. His eyes, once clear, now swirled like a stormy sea of gold and black-a sure sign that his wolf was in control. Lucas knew they didn't have much time before Marcus lost himself completely.Marcus, stay with us," Elena urged, her hand out to touch his arm. Her voice was smooth, but her eyes betrayed a trace of fear in them.Marcus growled low, his breathing labored. His muscles bulged against his skin, as fur seemed to break through any moment. "I. can't., " he choked out, barely human.Lucas stepped closer, fighting in his own battle to keep his wolf contained as his alpha instincts yelled for him to either help Marcus or put him down before he went full rogue. "We can get out of here, Marcus. We just need you to hold on a little longer. But Marcus wasn't listening any longer. With a blood-curdling roar, his body jerked forward suddenly and he shifted, claws

The chill, mildewy air of the hidden passage clung to Lucas's skin as he led the group deeper into the tunnel. The walls were damp and narrow, little more than wide enough for them to proceed in single file. Caleb was leading the way, his steps sure, but Lucas could feel the tension in the air. Every muscle in his body was cranked up, prepared to shift at a second's notice in case Caleb turned on them."I don't like this," Elena whispered softly, but her voice was full of concern. She stuck close to Lucas, her hand brushing his arm. "How are we to know he's not leading us into another trap?""We don't," he said with a gloomy face. His wolf growled inside him, receiving the same warning as Elena did. "But we don't have another choice."Behind them, Marcus found himself in a slight stumble, his strength still sapped from his breakdown. He still hadn't regained full control over his wolf, and Lucas could hear the rumble of a low growl deep in Marcus' chest. The rogue energy was still the

The ground had shaken beneath their feet as the walls of the tunnel started to close in, groaning under the weight of ancient stone. Lucas's eyes darted around, taking in the collapsing tunnel. Dust and debris filled the air, making it harder to see. Marcus growled low, his wolf form twitching, the rogue energy rippling through him as he barely clung to his sanity. His yellowed eyes gleamed with danger."We can't hold this for long," Lucas muttered, scanning for an escape.Elena's voice came steady, though her heartbeat raced. "Marcus has the strength. He can hold back the walls long enough for us to find another way out."Lucas hesitated. Marcus was already unstable, the rogue energy coursing through him more violently by the minute. But there wasn't another option. The tunnel was closing faster than they could run, and brute force was the only way to buy time."Marcus," Lucas called, his voice firm. "I need you to hold the walls. Just for a few minutes. Can you do that?Marcus's bre

The air was thick in the chamber with some strange, almost suffocating energy. He could feel his wolf stirring uneasily beneath his skin, warning him of the danger they were surrounded by. The poor light flickered off the p symbols carved into the walls - symbols Lucas hadn't seen in several centuries, even in the deepest level of werewolf history. Elena was already studying them, her fingers tracing the ancient markings. These symbols, she whispered, almost not heard above the chilling silence. They belong to the old packs… the ones that vanished so long ago.Lucas leaned in closer, his cutting eyes tracing the lines and shapes carved into the stone. The Shadow Claw pack, he muttered. And the Blood Moon clan. For over a hundred years, they are considered extinct. But why are their symbols here?" Elena asked, her brow furrowed with worry. "This place feels wrong."Lucas nodded. "This isn't just an escape route. It's something else… something ancient.Behind them, Marcus groaned. He kn

The room chilled as the darkened shadow coalesced into something better defined - a great wolf, much larger than any Lucas had ever seen. Eyes glowing eerily crimson, his fur seemed to shimmer like mist. The aura around him was ancient, dangerous, full of malice. He could feel the hairs on the back of his neck bristle; his wolf was on full alert. It's the spirit of a rogue alpha, Elena whispered, shaking, her eyes fixed on the dark figure drawing near. It's been imprisoned here for centuries.Lucas growled low, stepping in front of Elena and Marcus. His instincts screamed in danger, but he couldn't let the others see his fear. It wants to turn us rogue. This is what the curse was for.The glowing eyes of the spirit locked onto the barely standing Marcus. The wildness in his eyes grew worse by the second; his body trembled in such a way, fighting the rogue energy inside him. The spirit seemed to realize the weakness, drifting towards him like some predator homing onto its prey."No," L

A weight of responsibility pressed down on her chest, reminding her of the monumental task ahead. Her fingers lingered on the edge of the table, absently tracing the outline of an old family crest. It was Elias. His presence had become a steadying force for her in the midst of the chaos. It was a weight she had not been prepared for, but one she had accepted when the previous Alpha died. She had wanted to be strong, to prove to the pack that she was capable of leading them. But doubts crept in, always lingering at the back of her mind. Could she really do this? Could she protect them from the dangers that lurked in the shadows? She sighed and leaned her forehead against the cool glass of the window.
