CHAPTER FIFTY SIX Aurora's POV Time was slowly ticking by. A few moons have gone by, with me and Carter still sharing his bedroom. He hasn't changed a bit. He was still indifferent towards me. He doesn't really show any concern and I still spent my nights on the floor while he used the bed. The only time I used the bed was when he wanted to get laid. That usually got me sick somehow. Although, I couldn't deny the pleasure I got from it.He was literally good at pounding me. I wish he could just see things the way I did.I hate that I am starting to have a soft spot for him in my heart. It wasn't supposed to be like this, not after all the pain he had inflicted on me.I still couldn't stop from looking at him differently. I wanted to see the good side of him. No matter how bad a person was, I still believe that there was always a good side to them and that's exactly what I'm trying to get out of Carter, forgetting the fact that he has and is still treating me badly. For the
CHAPTER FIFTY EIGHT Aurora's POV.As predicted, Carter had already packed all what he needed into his black backpack.I had struggled to get hold of a few of the herbs. It was a dry season and I'm lucky that I got to find a few of the green herbs. Since during times like this only the stronger grass survived.I picked a few of the fresh ones and returned with it to the house. He was not even in the room when I returned. That was good since it was easier for me to sneak them into his bag without him noticing. I opened the door and peered my head outside the room, to make sure he was not around somewhere or probably coming back from where he had gone.Seeing that everywhere was clear, I tiptoed towards his back that was on the sofa. I sat down next to it, opening the smaller zip outside, I pushed the freshly cut herbs inside and gently zipped it. I couldn't put it in the bigger section because I know he will often use that side. So it was better to be safe.I tried to put the bag b
CHAPTER FIFTY-EIGHT. Aurora's POV. After the instructions, we were to return to Royal Shadow High with each of the given animal targets. But who on earth was going to stand in front of a tiger?I couldn't. I would literally piss my pants if I saw one.I just hope that it doesn't get bad.We are going to take the road that leads straight to the woods. Each pair of students had their directions to take and Carter and I were going towards the south. The walk was quite cool and silent and I didn't know what to say.He has always been quiet and doesn't really look at me and I don't know why. Was he fighting within him about something bothering him and he couldn't say it out loud? Because I know that men do have their own silent battles that they fight within. You will never know, until they tell you.For someone like Carter, he wouldn't tell you, even if you asked him. So , I didn't always push my luck when it came to asking him things.Or maybe, his nightmares were probably the ca
CHAPTER FIFTY NINE Carter's POV. Seeing that this girl still cares for me after everything I have done to her amazes me.I had expected her to hate me as much as I hated her. It was like as the days went by something was beginning to change along too.She must be thinking about the way I started to behave lately. Well, I don't really have any explanation for that because it's actually crazy. I can't even understand what's going on with me anymore. I can’t really give any good reasons for my behavior. I was taken aback when I noticed that I was paired with her to go to the camp survival thing. I mean, there were alot of people I could be paired with and not her.At one point, I thought the school authorities really wanted to see my downfall. However, there was nothing I could do. I just had to obey. Not like I had any authority over the school.I had let her take a picture of us.I couldn't handle seeing the depressed look on her face when she thought I wouldn't allow her to
CHAPTER SIXTY ONEAurora's POV. "Carter!" I screamed at the top of my voice with teary eyes, hoping he could hear me when he suddenly took off to the clearing on his left side. How did I even get here? I was all alone and stranded in the middle of nowhere with two big and scary tigers growling at me. Something I have never seen with my own naked eyes before.I felt the blood drain from my body when the two bloodthirsty thirsty creatures started to take steps towards me. I didn't know what to do.As they moved towards me, I took steps behind. I felt the ground under me shake, when I heard a deep roar followed by a loud growl."Shit!" I cursed when they started moving at faster space and I kept increasing my steps behind. Thug!My back hit the floor when I tripped on a tree trunk behind me.'You can't fight these tigers. Just shapeshift and run away.” Mia growled in my head as I tried to take control , so that I could shift into my wolf form. However, I couldn't do that. It was goin
CHAPTER SIXTY TWOAurora's POVI sat down on the sofa with my legs tapping vigorously on the floor as I waited for Carter to return from wherever he went. How could he do that to me? He betrayed and left me defenseless in front of those animals and came to the pack with no iota of shame in him.My blood was getting hot with each passing second as I thought about everything that had happened while I was here. This is not the first time he had done this to me.I feel so broken inside. I was totally torned apart.Feeling sick of sitting on the chair for too long, I stood up and paced around in the room.Click!Click!I heard some noise outside and I immediately knew that he was the one coming back from wherever he had gone. It was like he had seen a ghost the moment he opened the door and saw me in the room. Of course , he ought to act like that. He thought I was probably dead or something. "I can see you are wondering if I'm a ghost. Aren’t you?” I looked at him with anger burning

CHAPTER SIXTY THREEAurora's POV. He looked up at me with doubt as he scratched his head."Uhmm, someone asked me to give it to you."His gaze was now down on his face. I opened the paper curiously. White papers were beginning to scare me. The last one I got didn't end well and I wonder what this one could contain. I glanced at the paper and looked at the little boy. He was already gone, before I could ask him anything else, his name, he didn't even tell me or he didn't even give me the time to ask him.I let out a sigh as I brought my hand down with the paper in it and walked to the kitchen. I moved further into the kitchen island and sat on it. Putting my phone on the table, I brought the paper closer to my face, so that I could get a good look at it.I opened up the paper and my eyes immediately darted to the addresser’s name.My eyes immediately lit up as I scanned the content of the letter. It was from Arthur. Only the Goddess knows how much I have missed him.I held the
