As I lay in bed, the persistent vibrations from the phone suddenly pulled me from the depths of sleep.

With groggy eyes and a heavy sensation in my limbs, I reached out to my left, fumbling in search of the phone. My eyelids felt like lead, making it a challenge to open them fully.

While I continued my quest for the vibrating phone, a sudden realisation dawned on me. Kayla had shared the same bed with me last night, but now, she was absolutely nowhere near me.
