Demi's povMy soul's resilience was something that had begun to irritate me by now. It’s will to live contrasted with my will to die and that combination wasn't supposed to belong in one body. I had never been so irritated opening my eyes expecting to see the pearly gates of the heavens only to see white ceilings.I had already imagined what type of gowns I wished to wear and what to eat. I had envisioned playing with Haris, seeing my parents, and finally saying bye to earth but you could imagine my disappointment being hit with the regular smell of antiseptic, the view of white ceilings hitting me, and the realization that I didn't die.I lived without recollection of what I had gone through to get here.I only remember saying bye to my friends and taking Haris's hand and from then on everything from black.I had wished for death and not fragments of my memory to be removed.I turned a bit to my side, wincing at the pain spanning across my back and my gaze fell on the bed next to m
Demi's povI got discharged the next morning and I was filled with relief as I couldn't sleep the night before after the visit from Anya and her mother. I knew there was every possibility that they could storm into the outside house as well but that would take a while as they would want to lay low to cover their tracks. And now I was on my way back with my brother, Bopha and Elara."Why are we stopping?" I said to Bopha and Elara when we suddenly halted before the door, "Aren't we going in?""You might want to go in alone.." Bopha muttered holding on to Haris's hand, "I will take him for ice cream.""And I will drop the supplies before you go in.” Elara added entering as well and I could only guess that maybe Dmitri was in there preparing something special as he loved grand gestures.I stood outside patiently with a smile on my face, while rubbing my fingers together and when Elara got out, she signaled at me to go in and quietly followed Bopha and Haris when we bade goodbyes.I too
Demi's povI twirled around in the field, the wind swept gently at the hem of my white gown and I loved the way the rays of the sun warmed my skin. I laughed seeing that I had both of my hands and my skin was pure and unblemished.Am I in heaven?I could hear birds chirping, they flew above my head, all of them of different colors with cute halos above their heads and I guessed I would call them halo birds. They flew in a certain direction, their songs calling out to follow them and I did, spreading my arms out and chasing them as fast as I could running and laughing. They stopped at a certain place in the field with a beautiful bush crowned with red flowers and before my eyes, the bush parted revealing the most beautiful wolf I had ever seen. It was a beautiful red wolf with sparkling brown eyes.I felt connected to her in that instant and she walked towards me gently as I bent a bit to her level and reached out to stroke her soft red fur. She purred at my touch, "You are so beautif
Demi's povIt was Anya and Her mother standing outside the door with fake bright smiles on their faces and I wondered if they had nothing better to do than pick on me.Anya wore a bright red dress and she looked gorgeous with her straight hair and lovely face. Little wonder that Eros chose her over me, I didn't look like that. No amount of makeovers or surgeries would ever make me look like that.I was just plain, ugly, and handicapped. Her mother was a beautiful older version of her and she was dressed in bright colours and in her hand was a big bag that didn't match her outfit."What do you want here?!"They never answered my question but instead pushed past me and maneuvered their way into the house leaving me at the door.I closed it without protesting and walked up to meet them wondering what they had in mind and how this meeting would end."Oh look at all these mother." Anya huffed walking to the table and she drew out a seat, taking it, "Who would put so much work in to please
Demi's povNo! please don't! These would be my words if I could speak at the moment. I would cry out and beg them not to do this but I could only watch as they went on with their motive.Anya put the match box back in her pockets and went forward to the front door. She placed a chair under the door knob and broke other chairs littering the wood everywhere and as she did, she poured a new can of gasoline over them. The bag they had brought in houses all these. They followed with littering my torn clothes over everywhere, from the sitting room to the bedroom, kitchen, and other rooms and this they intended would make the fire spread faster.I couldn't stop them when they dragged me on the chair and into the bathroom. "And even if someone was to get to the house to save you, you will be long gone before they find you here." Anya's mother smiled, "You can say your last words, oops! I forgot cat got your tongue." she laughed as she exited leaving just Anya and I."Let me see you get ou
Anya's povSatisfaction hit me when I tied her up helplessly, more of it filled me when my mother and I scattered the clothes and broken pieces of wood around the house and when we littered the floor with gasoline, when I poured it over her and littered outside around the house in a neat trail with it.I was filled with glee the moment I lit the match stick, the way the singular trail of fire spread and burst into flames engulfing the sitting room. There was laughter when we both vanished into the environs and lit it on fire as well. And I could smell victory when I masked the burning scent with magic, it would last an hour and a half and by then no one who comes along to save her would be able to.I had it all calculated.Bopha her stupid friend who was a freak as well was away with Elara and her stupid fat brother. They went to get ice cream and would take a while as it was some sort of fair outside our territory and I know they would love the boy to enjoy himself which meant them
Eros's povI raced back, planting my feet on the ground firmly before leaping and slamming my body against the door for the fourth time and it gave way, bringing me down with it and crashing into leaping flames.Find her! Raphael barked as I drew my shirt over my nose and waved away the smoke with my hand, she's deep inside. I followed his direction trying to navigate my way through the smoke and fire. The atmosphere smelled bad, it was nauseating but I needed to find my mate and not let my weakness affect me.I could feel the smoke clouding up my lungs and clogging my nostrils as I struggled hard to breathe. My breath intake was tainted and smoke clung to my eyes making it teary and I found it hard to see.The whole place was in shambles, I barely dodged a beam of fire as it fell almost on top of me. I got on my hands and knees and began to crawl my way through.Going through the smoke and flames trying to smell her but to no avail. Raphael was getting affected as I was and I was
Anya's pov I paced around my room biting at my nails severely at the possible outcome of Eros's trip to the out house. I was sure he would find her dead, burnt and charred. There was no way she could have survived what I had done and especially with the way I prepared it. I was sure of a job well done but the anxiety coursing through me made me doubt my mind and my capabilities. I didnt know whom to reach out to, to ask about the outcome or if they heard any news. If I was to go forward and ask all these, accusing fingers could easily be pointed at me and that was something that was to be avoided. If Eros should find out that I had been behind most of Demi's suffering all these while, he wouldn't hesitate to snap my neck and wipe out anything related to me including my mother for in as much as he was calm and level headed, he’d take brutal actions to protect whom he wanted. Hence, why I erased her and her brother's memory at the first accusation of her stealing and why I th
