Demi's pov

"Are you alright sweetheart?"

The blue-eyed stranger spoke, his voice gave a homely feel as he purposefully drew me closer with his arms, his eyes searching my entire being for any signs of hurt, "You look shaken."

I only stared at him still in shock from the hit.

“Are you alright?” His voice had gotten graver as he gazed upon my bad arm and the wounds I had on my fingers.

I silently expressed gratitude at the fact that the other parts of my body were covered by the long gown with full sleeves that I had put on making it impossible to see the rest of my wounds.

I had no words, my gaze went awkwardly to where his hands gripped and a flicker of realization flashed in his eyes.

His fingers gently loosened unhanding me and I stepped back a bit giving him distance.

"I am sorry, you could have fallen if I hadn't held onto you." His words offered apologies and I watched as he stretched out his hand catching me off guard, his finger carefully brushed against my cheek touching a w
