I hope you liked this chapter. As always, I would love to read your comments.
Alpha Terrence replied, “You have no idea what I can do.” Alpha Nico motioned for four warriors to come forward, “Take him to the dungeons. These ladies don’t need to see him.” The warriors dragged him kicking and screaming to the dungeons while we gave our statements to Alpha Nico. When we were done with the statements, we took the ladies, and the bodies of the deceased ones, to their home pack. Alpha Marcus thanked us and we left. When we got back home, I started cooking dinner again and Luke asked, “Are you okay?” I nodded, “Yeah, I’m fine. I’m just concerned about what was happening with those ladies. I keep trying to imagine the horrors they went through because an alpha just wanted a submissive woman underneath him.” Luke sighed as he hugged me from behind, “I can’t imagine it, and I don’t want to. I also don’t want you to. Those women are safe now and Alpha Terrence will be put to death, thanks to all of us. That’s what matters now.” I agreed, “It is nice to know that he will d
I was trying to get more work done when Luke stood behind me and started watching what I was doing. I wanted to try to get totally caught up today because I wanted to reduce the amount of paperwork that would be waiting for me when we get home from our trip. As I enjoyed his close proximity to me, I looked up and asked, “What’s up?” He chuckled at me, “Nothing. I was just wondering when you are going to be done.” Then he blushed and continued, “I’m kinda getting hungry.” I looked at the time and gasped, “Six pm! Why didn’t you say something earlier? I’m so sorry. I guess I just got carried away with this.” He laughed at me, “You are so cute. I love how you want to take care of me, but it’s okay. I can just put a frozen pizza in the oven.” I wrinkled my nose, “Save those for when I’m not here. I’ll make some chicken parmesan. It will be done within a half hour.” He furrowed his brow, “Are you sure?” I nodded, “Definitely.” I stood up from my desk and walked to the kitchen. I was never
Good grief! The last two days have been a blur of activity. We spent all day yesterday shopping for the trip, then emptying the refrigerator. I did not want to come home to fuzzy stuff in my fridge. That’s just nasty. Luke laughed at my attitude toward it but understood when I explained my reasoning. By the time I finished explaining, he was helping me. After that was done, we went to Canon City and shopped for some formal wear as well as clothes to wear for anything else. Yesterday, we spent the day packing and catching up with work. I sighed in relief when everything was packed and we were done making sure all of our work was done. We went to Zuccaro’s for supper last night to keep from having to clean the kitchen. When we walked in, we immediately saw Cody and Rachel sitting at a table. We walked up behind them and Luke poked Rachel’s ribs while I covered Cody’s eyes with my hands. Rachel screamed and Cody asked as he covered my hands with his, “Hmm… is this the newest princess in
When we got back on the road I asked, “What pack are we staying with?” Luke replied, “We are heading to a pack in the swamplands called The Nightfall Pack. The Alpha’s name is Blaze Helsing, Junior.” I furrowed my brows, “Alpha Blaze… that name sounds so familiar. I picked up my phone and called my grandma. She answered on the first ring, “Hey sweetie. How’s my girl?” I replied, “Hey grandma. We are in Florida, on our way to help a wolf pack and weregator kingdom with a poaching problem with Chloe. The name of the pack and the alpha sound so familiar to me, and I can’t place it.” Grandma asked, “What is the name of the Alpha?” I smiled, “Alpha Blaze Helsing Junior.” I heard grandma chuckle, “Sweetie, we helped his father after his beta and his mate tried to overthrow him. His mother was the special wolf, Zayna, from Alpha Gabriel’s pack who taught Kayla and me how to use our powers.” I opened my mouth in surprise, “That’s why the name sounded familiar. I will have to ask how his parent
King Mateo smiled at me, “It’s good to see our tiny Sylvie Rose all grown up. How is life treating you, little one?” I sighed at his nickname for me, “Life is great. I have an amazing mate who is my true mate. He would die before he let anything happen to me.” King Mateo responded, “He’s your true mate? Not just your fated mate?” I nodded, “Yep. We complement each other in every way. Especially in our magic. He can control most elements, except earth. Earth is my specialty. It seems his strengths are my weaknesses and vice versa.” King Mateo smiled, “I’m glad you’re happy with him.” I rubbed my hands together, grinning, “Now I have one question.” King Mateo chuckled, “I did not bring Hugo.” I immediately pouted and he chuckled, “I brought his son, Bruno. We didn’t even know he had kids, then one day, he walks this little gator right up to us. My mate went to play ball with Hugo, but Bruno immediately took over.” I asked, “Is Hugo alright?” King Mateo’s face turned into a somber look a
I added, “I would like to spend this afternoon in the human town to see what we could do to improve the relationship. There may be a business that you can start that would help the city. I would just like to walk into that meeting with some ideas.” Chloe agreed, “Me too. I think we should make an afternoon of it.” I nodded, “Exactly. We should keep a close eye on the businesses as we look. We don’t want to do anything that they already have.” Chloe added, “And we need to look at the park to see if there is anything we can add to it.” After Alpha Blaze called the meeting to an end, he told everyone, “We will have a special semi-formal dinner tonight to introduce you all to my pack.” I nodded in acknowledgement to him and Chloe and I went outside to get in her SUV with one of each of our warriors and drove to town with a carload of our warriors following us. I turned to Chloe and asked, “How have the other packs that you’ve helped succeeded in stopping the poaching?” Chloe shrugged, “T
After my hair was done, I put on a little eyeliner and a natural lip gloss, then walked to the closet and grabbed my light blue sundress and my white sandals. I put them on then walked out of the closet. My mate was just tucking his white button up shirt into his dark black jeans. He gasped when he looked up and saw me, “You’re so beautiful. I will never get tired of looking at you.” I smiled and walked up to him. I stood on my tiptoes and kissed him on the cheek, “You’re looking quite handsome yourself. I can’t get used to you being mine. I am definitely the luckiest woman alive.” He smiled, “I’m the lucky one. Ready to go?” I nodded my head and we walked out our door. We walked downstairs where we met Alpha Blaze, Luna Zendaya, King Mateo, Prince Aidinth and Princess Chloe. We all walked into the dining hall and everyone in the pack went quiet. Everyone stood as we found our way to the Alpha and Luna’s table and took our seats. We sat down and Alpha Blaze remained standing, “Please
As we sat by the fire, I kept having a nagging feeling that we were being watched. I asked Alpha Blaze, “Do you have patrols out tonight?” He replied, “We do. Are you getting a feeling?” I nodded, “I am. I keep feeling like we’re being watched.” Alpha Blaze’s eyes glazed over then responded, “I have sent some extra warriors to patrol. We’ll see if there is anyone out there.” I smiled, “Thank you, Alpha.” That’s when Luke asked, “Are you okay, love?” I replied, “Just feeling like we’re being watched. Alpha Blaze put more warriors on patrol.” Luke nodded to Alpha Blaze, "Thank you. That proves your commitment to keeping us all safe.” We continued to laugh and joke around with the pack when we heard a commotion in the woods behind us. Luke immediately cast a spell to place a dome of protection over us all. Four warriors walked out of the woods with six naked men. The men were immediately handed a pair of shorts and taken to the dungeons. Luke asked, “When are you planning to interrogate
I smiled as I watched my kids get out of Alex’s car. They are eighteen now and are now in college and they are home for spring break. Luke and I had two more girls, twins, who are twelve now. Lizzy and Emily ran out to greet them. Lizzy yelled, “Adele! You’re home!” Adele hugged her sisters, “Hey, ladies, how are things going?” Lizzy growled, “I can’t keep Emily out of my clothes!” Emily scowled, “I would stay out of your clothes if you would stay out of my makeup!” Lizzy sneered, “Don’t leave it out where I can get to it.” I laughed, “Girls. Stop. Both of you have the same exact clothes and makeup. You should each be using your own. You even have your own bathrooms and bedrooms to keep your own stuff in. Use your own rooms.” Lizzy whined, “But, mom, why can’t we share anything? We’re twins, we already share your beauty.” I laughed, “I’m not giving in. You two need to stick to your own things.” Lizzy was right. All of my girls inherited my light blonde hair and blue eyes, while our bo
I was feeding Zachary when Adele’s highchair starts to float off the floor and she starts giggling wildly. I laughed at the little boy with the mischievous eyes, “Micah, put your sister down. You’re such a naughty boy.” Alex was just minding his own business while eating some dry cereal all by himself. These babies are now one year old and I am positive that these babies communicate in their own language. I know they conspire against me daily. Luckily, I helped my mother raise triplets. I know Micah is running the show that I am currently witnessing. He knows that Adele’s sweet giggles crack me up and distract me. However, I know to watch Alex. He’s about to make a big mess with his cereal so that I will have to pick it all up. I shook my head, “Nuh-uh ya’ll. I know what you’re up to. Micah, tone down the magic.” I looked up and saw my daughter’s highchair had nearly ascended to the ceiling. Micah gave me a guilty look and she suddenly started slowly descending to the floor. I shook my
The next day, the babies and I were discharged from the hospital and Luke and I took them to our house, where everyone was waiting for us. When we got home, Luke carried two baby carriers into the house, then came back outside, carried two more babies into the house, then helped me. I asked, “Is anyone in the house right now?” He chuckled, “Everyone is in the house right now. Including grandma.” I smiled, “That means grandma has been cooking!” He laughed, “Our island is full of cookies, cakes and cobblers.” I laughed hard while holding my abdomen, “She is so predictable. I’m sure she won’t be cooking as much once she gets her hands on the babies.” He laughed, “I think you’re right. She ran from the kitchen to the baby carriers as soon as I was in the door with the first two.” I was smiling widely as soon as I walked in the door. I looked around and saw a house full of family. I mean FULL… my parents, all of my grandparents, all of my siblings, Uncle Nico, Brenna, King Parker, Queen Za
Sylvie’s POV When we got to my room, the nurse already had four little cribs with four tiny babies in them sitting beside my bed. Nurse Holly smiled, “Well, princess, you have a bunch of people outside who are looking to see you and these little sweeties. You should feed them soon, but breast feeding will be impossible for all of them. I would rotate babies to decide who will get the breast milk… at least for the next few weeks. There are some prepared bottles of formula under the cribs for the ones who don’t get breast milk.” She showed us where they are as well as the diapers, wipes and blankets. Luke handed boy A to me and I tried to get him to latch on. As he started suckling, I noticed Luke was watching and beaming. I smiled at him, “Are you happy, my prince?” He sighed, “More than happy. I can’t wait to show you all off to our kingdom.” I laughed, “Should we invite Beagan to the house for a couple days to take a bunch of pictures? We can choose a few to send to the media.” He s
Two weeks later, mom and I were making cookies and cupcakes to freeze. Luke reminded me, “Don’t forget, we have a doctor appointment today.” I asked, “What time?” He looked at his watch, “We will need to be there in an hour.” I smiled, “Okay. Do you mind if mom comes with us? I’m sure she would love to see the babies.” He smiled, “Of course. I wouldn’t have it any other way.” We finally got everything together and left for the castle hospital. When we got there, the nurse led us to a room and I sat on the exam table. When Doctor Kelvin walked in, he smiled, “It won’t be long before our prince has an heir.” I chuckled, “A few heirs. I’m feeling it too. They are super active. Sometimes it feels like they are wrestling around in there.” He chuckled, “They probably are. I’m sure their elbow room has diminished greatly.” I asked, “I’ve been having a ton of back pain lately. It feels like my belly has dropped too. Do you think they will be coming soon?” He raised his eyebrows, “We should ch
I actually only got to work another month before King Parker put me on maternity leave. I was not happy about it, but I accepted it with as much grace as I could muster. Luke tried to comfort me, “Love, he only cares about your health and you are getting so close to giving birth.” I sighed, “I know. It doesn’t take much to hurt my feelings these days. It’s just the pregnancy hormones.” He shrugged, “That doesn’t mean it bothers me less to feel this feeling. It hurts me when you are hurt.” I smiled, “Okay. I will try to block off those feelings.” He laughed, “You will do no such thing.” I laughed, “I’m kidding, love. I will do my best try to keep my emotions in check.” As we sat in the living room, I picked up the current blanket that I’m working on. I have already completed a Cape Cod blue and white blanket, a royal blue and white one, and I am currently working on a pastel blue and white one. The last one is going to be a pastel pink and white. They are all eight-point stars. Luke wat
It has been a month since the dinner with Benny and Cayenne, and I’m starting to get very uncomfortable. My belly is getting very big now and my doctor is threatening bed rest for the last three months if I don’t start taking it easy. That means no more going to the apartments and helping with the remodel. I’m not very happy about it, but my awesome mate has made it well worth my while. He found out that I learned how to crochet when I was young. He asked, “Would you be happy about taking it easy if I bought all the stuff for you to start crocheting blankets for our babies?” I acted like I was thinking about it, “Well, if I had something to keep me busy, it might help. Crocheting is something I can do and see progress. I guess that would help. Can I go with you?” He chuckled, “You will have to come with me. I wouldn’t know what to get.” I laughed, “I would also like to try to find some maternity clothes.” He responded, “Okay, but we need to make sure you aren’t on your feet for too lon
When we got home, I realized that it was time for me to start dinner. I asked Luke, “How does chicken parmesan sound for dinner?” He asked, “Are you going to make your homemade garlic bread for it?” I laughed, “Of course. I also want to make a triple berry cobbler with homemade ice cream for dessert. What do you think?” He asked, “Triple berries?” I explained, “Strawberry, blackberry and raspberry.” He smiled, “That sounds really good.” I started making the bread for my garlic bread and smiled, “I think I’m going to make dinner rolls slathered in homemade garlic butter. I think that would go over better.” He smiled, “That would be great, love.” I started the bread and kneaded it until it was ready to rise. I covered it with a clean, damp, tea towel. I went to the office while I was waiting for the bread to rise and checked my email. I didn’t see anything new, so I checked for more receipts and purchase orders and only found four of each. I was able to enter those in a matter of minute
I decided to cook fried chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy and green beans for supper. I had the chicken, mashed potatoes and green beans ready and was working on the gravy when Luke walked into the kitchen, his phone up to his ear. I heard him tell someone, “Just do what I wanted to do. Stop thinking about what he wants. He doesn’t know what he’s talking about.” I furrowed my brows, “What was that about?” He tossed his phone on the island and sighs as he runs his hand down his face, “My business partner is an idiot. He wants to waste money on redecorating all of the apartments in a newly acquired complex, but most of them already have renters in them.” I asked, “So why not redecorate each one as it becomes vacant? It’s less of an initial expense. You can charge more for the newly renovated ones and keep the rent steady for the ones that are currently occupied. That way you will keep earning money while you are spending it. Plus, the newly renovated ones will attract renters much faster.
