*My Pulse Quickened At The Sight of Elara*

I and my Beta had searched the whole place for this woman—how come she appeared in front of me, and the arms of another man?

My pulse quickened at the sight of Elara. Seeing her dressed differently from her usual style made my blood boil. She was here with the Alpha of the Dawn pack and Caitlin's brother, Arthur Graham. Curling herself in his arms like a total bitch.

I could only imagine how she got involved with him.

My anger reached the rising point and I clenched my fist, I needed to let out rage so I stormed out of the dance floor and went to sit in front of the bar. The bartender quickly served me something strong, although werewolves barely got drunk, I could feel the heat of the alcohol on my skin.

I gestured for the bartender to pour me another glass, gulping down everything. My soul was boiling, and my wolf was beginning to get aggressive.

I needed something to calm me down. One part of me wanted to pull her out of Arthur's hand and

*The Girl You Rejected*"You're a fucking bitch, you kissed him back there, where did you learn to be so forward? While we were together, you never let me touch you, I could barely kiss you now you go out there kissing another man."I remained silent."Answer me!" He barked.Refusing to dignify his question, I glared at him. "I said it's none of your fucking business!"."It's such a pity that you'd go out there, whoring yourself to Arthur just because he has so much power, do you think you can make me jealous? You're nothing to me. You are the girl I rejected.""Well, I don't think that's the case..." I replied with a bitter smile on my face, I tried as much as possible to keep my head up high, telling myself one thing, that I was over this man. I can live a better life without him."Because you dared to corner me. I can tell how much you're dying inside." I sneered."Yeah really? Then I'll be honest here, I need compensation." The smile on his face was a grim one. "You need to make i

Beta-turned OmegaElara's POVI didn't see any need to disclose my personal affairs to a stranger. His grey eyes bore into mine, and I looked away, feeling compelled to speak yet resisting the urge. I averted my gaze, attempting to reduce the awkwardness in the car.I rubbed my arms together, protecting my skin from the cold, and suddenly he pulled so close to me, separating my hands and putting them behind my back before his lips fell on mine. At first, it left me dumbfounded, my brain finding it hard to comprehend what was happening. Arthur's lips on mine! I must surely be dreaming. He bit my lower lip, making me flinch, and at the same time, his warm tongue soothed the pain, brushing off the wound. He took the small opening as he went, letting his wet tongue slip into my mouth, exploring every corner. My hands and feet felt wobbly under his touch.I felt the need to squirm under him, letting my hand run a few times over his half-buttoned shirt which exposed his bare, chiseled chest

Against her Will*Harden's POV:After the event, I left the winter ball with Caitlin, anger brewing inside of me as we drove silently home. I couldn't take my mind off today's event. I left Caitlin off at the mansion before going to the pack house.I stormed into the pack council chamber, my steps echoing the thunder of my troubled emotions. After seeing them together, I needed answers. I felt doubled cross. My Beta, Jack, looked up from the documents strewn across the table, his face shifting from concentration to concern as he met my seething gaze. He was about to say something, but I beat him to it."Did you know?" The words escaped my lips, turmoil brewing within me.Jack hung back for a moment. I noticed his eyes avoiding mine before finally meeting my intense gaze. "What is it, Alpha?" His response fueled my anger. Did he dare to pretend? Damn!"Don't act like you know nothing! You fuckin' fooled me," I uttered, rubbing my hand over my face frustratingly as I thought of how good

LongingWhat was she thinking? This pack belonged to Caitlin's brother, and there was no way she'd be avoiding her for so long. But then she wasn't sure she could face her today. Elara decided that she would leave the necklace with the receptionist, almost turning to leave, but the conversation between Arthur and Caitlin caught her attention. In the room, Arthur was seated on his chair, reading some files before putting in his signature while Caitlin stood by his side with her arm crossed around his left arm, shaking and pestering him."Arthur..." She called, her voice like a cat in distress. Arthur did his best to ignore her disturbance and focused his whole attention on the papers."Please see him this once. Even Father has met with Harden a few times, so why won't you meet with my mate? Don't you care how he's treating me? Don't you want to know how I'm living?""You're not married yet, though a few rituals are done, there's still much left before you're officially his wife. You ca

Threading on two boats Elara's POV:"Uhmm?" said Harden. "I asked what you're doing here, and with a man..." My fist clenched under the table as I cursed my luck. Why does he have to come here? This place isn't his territory. Not wanting him to create a ruckus in front of lawyer Tony, I gestured for him to come outside with me, hoping he'd listen. On my way out of the restaurant, I noticed that I was alone. I turned back to find Harden still standing in front of Tony, his hands hanging on his hips, the look in his eyes not a good one. I could sense trouble brewing in the air."Hey, Jerk, what are you doing with her?" He asked Tony, who acted indifferent. "Shit," I muttered, slapping my head hard. Why was he bent on disgracing me wherever I go?I stormed back to the table, mustering enough courage."Harden, please leave," I said with a stern expression. He turned from Tony to me and asked, "What are you doing here?" And then tittered. His hand pinched the bridge of his nose, "Here I

Harden Loves Me.In a while, Arthur arrived at the station. He was wearing a casual outfit, Black sweatpants, and a grey cardigan. A tired look on his face and his golden hair looked like he'd run his hands over it a few times. His eyes scrutinized Elara from head to toe the moment he set his eyes on her, not saying a word before shifting his gaze to Caitlin who rushed to his side. She ignored Elara's presence, talking to Arthur directly."It's great you're here, brother. The officer wouldn't listen to me," Caitlin said. "He insists that Harden instigated trouble himself. Come with me," she continued, leading Arthur to meet the chief officer. His arrival at the police station sent whispers rippling among the officers. Many of them knew him and the position he held. He was one of the most famous lawyers in the city an Alpha of the biggest pack in the South.Caitlin felt proud to have her brother here, and her chin tightened. Moments ago, she was trying to tell them who her older brothe

Consider me as your PartnerElara's POV:After the whole issue was resolved and the bail was settled, I offered to accompany attorney Tony to the hospital; after all, it was because of me he got hurt. He didn't reject it. Due to the deep wound on his shoulder, the ride to the hospital was rather slow as he drove carefully, not wanting to cause further damage to it.At the hospital, I sat in the waiting area, tension coiling in my gut, as Tony disappeared into the treatment room with the nurse who disinfected and began stitching the deep wound on his shoulder. Every passing minute felt like an eternity, amplifying my guilt for the injury he sustained because of me.Harden had purposely used his claws on Tony, perhaps wanting to send a warning.Usually, as a werewolf, his wounds were supposed to heal quickly, but since he got the injury from Alpha blood, it would take quite some time for the wound to heal.I watched from afar as he remained calm while the nurse finished the stitch and

StrugglesElara's POV:After I left the hospital, I wasn't done digesting Harden's recent threat when the news of father's health hit me like a sledgehammer, shattering the fragile facade of hope I'd clung to all this while for his sake. I received a call from Jason who said that father's condition deteriorated in prison.Desperation swirled within me as I racked my brain, thinking of every possible option to save him. If he continued to stay in prison, I doubted he'd be able to survive it, yet there was nothing I could do. Jason had earlier said that he knew someone, and they could arrange for father to get proper treatment, but it would cost a lot of money—about $10,000. I'd never thought of so much money in my entire life and had nowhere to get it. Still, I needed to save my father. After a long while, I made the gut-wrenching decision to sell our house, hoping to save him. Before my father was demoted from Beta, we had a house where we lived. After his sickness worsened, we moved

*Have Faith in Arthur*The night settled over the pack lands like a heavy cloak, thick with silence and shadows. Outside, the trees rustled, and a cool breeze slipped through, carrying the faint scent of the forest. But inside the council room, there was a different tension—a sense of danger lurking beneath the surface.Elias entered, his gaze sweeping across the faces of the pack elders who were already seated. The leader of the pack elders sat at the head of the table, his fingers tapping slowly against the polished wood, his expression calm yet watchful.Around him, the others—grim, wary men and women with faces weathered by years of loyalty and fierce battles—whispered among themselves, glancing at Elias as he took his seat. His eyes found Elias’s, and he nodded in greeting. "Glad you could join us, Elias."Elias nodded, his gaze calm but his posture guarded. He was here as Arthur’s stand-in tonight, but it felt different without Arthur’s powerful presence beside him. This wasn’t

*Your Goal*“The pack elders scheduled an emergency meeting; it’s concerned with your accident.”“When you get there, don’t let on anything. This fight has become personal; I will not involve people from my pack,” Arthur instructed, and Elias nodded.Arthur turned to Elara, his gaze softening. “Elara, I know you’re worried, but I need you to stay safe, too. If they couldn’t get to me directly, they might come for those closest to me. You’ll go back home today. Don’t come to see me unless I return home.”Her hand tightened around his. “But—”“I’ll be fine, Elara. I just need one more day before I bounce back.”“But I can stay at the pack house with you; I can take care of myself,” she said, trying to convince him because she didn’t want to leave.“I don’t want that. There are so many who have their eyes on you.” Arthur had always known that many disliked Elara because she was an outsider, and he didn’t want to give them the advantage while he was still bedridden. He gave her a faint sm

*Give Some Credit to the Witch*Selene’s expression turned serious as she looked at him, her bruised face hinting at the ordeal she had endured. She hesitated before speaking, her voice softer. “You could at least apologize for nearly killing me last night. That was a tough fight, I must admit.”Elias’s eyes flickered, a hint of something close to regret crossing his face as he looked at her. Her bruised face and weakened body tugged at something within him, though he quickly forced it back. She had, after all, saved Arthur, and perhaps she deserved some credit for that. But his pride wouldn’t allow him to voice any apology, and he simply narrowed his gaze, his tone unyielding. “Be grateful I let you live. I had every reason to kill you.”Selene smirked, though the effort seemed to cost her. Her pale lips trembled slightly in discomfort. “Grateful, huh?” She chuckled softly, though the sound was tinged with pain.Although her mind was crowded right now, there was something she'd alway

*He's Alive*In the morning, Elara woke up, still feeling discomfort in her chest. She washed her face and stood in front of the mirror, searching her reflection for any visible reaction, maybe even a hint of fur from her wolf—but there was none. She wondered what could be the cause. Last night, she couldn’t sleep, her wolf filling her head with howls, sensing that their mate might be in danger, or probably hurt. She tried reaching out to Arthur several times, but he didn’t respond, so she prayed for his safety. Arthur was strong and powerful, and she had immense faith in him; there was no way he’d lose in a fight. To distract herself while waiting for Arthur, Elara decided to work on the plants. Many of them needed special care, which she had noticed since first arriving here. She took the tools from the gardener and went into the garden.Elara knelt in the garden, her fingers gently tending to the young plants that had sprouted. The sun cast a warm glow over her, its gentle light a

*Dark Magic Tolerance*Caitlin nodded, swallowing hard. She didn’t have any other choice. As much as she hated to admit it, she was at Alberto’s mercy. "Please do something," Caitlin said again. Alberto responded with a nod this time, and seeing the softened look on his face, Caitlin had hope that he would help. She left the house with the thought that she had to be by her family's side at this time so no one suspected her. She walked back to her car, trembling with fear of being caught, constantly looking behind to make sure no one was following.Once Caitlin left, Alberto signaled someone who had been hiding in the shadows, lurking behind the dark curtains since the time Caitlin arrived. He was quick to hear her footsteps and instructed his companion to go into hiding. The person came out from hiding, their face barely visible behind a grim smile. Alberto went to the cellar and returned with a special bottle. He uncorked it and drank directly from it before giving his companion a si

*Not in the Bargain*Caitlin’s heart pounded in her chest as she paced around her room. Her mother had just delivered the news—Arthur had been shot with a strange bullet, and his condition was grave. Her mind raced with confusion, anger, and something she didn’t want to admit to herself: guilt. It wasn’t supposed to go this far. She never wanted to see Arthur in this state. All her plans, all her careful manipulation—none of it had involved this. She had wanted to hurt Elara, make her suffer, but Arthur? Her stepbrother? This wasn’t part of the plan. Her mother’s voice echoed in her ears, warning her that the situation was dire. Dark magic was involved, and the pack was panicking. They had no idea how to save him, and if something wasn’t done soon, Arthur wouldn’t make it through the night. There was only one person who might have answers, Caitlin thought. After more moments of deliberation, Caitlin was clear in her decision. She grabbed her coat, keys, and stormed out of the house. T

*Witches Help*It wasn’t long before Arthur’s parents arrived, their expressions grim and heavy with worry. His father, the previous Alpha, stood tall, his face a mask of control, but the tension in his body betrayed his fear. His mother, the former Luna, clutched her husband’s arm, her eyes wide with concern as she gazed at Arthur lying unconscious on the healer’s table.Mira turned to them, her face pale. “I need your permission to reach out to a witch coven. The bullet that struck Arthur… it’s filled with dark magic. I can’t treat it here. They might have the antidote.”The room fell into a heavy silence. His father’s eyes narrowed. “A witch coven?” His voice was low, filled with disdain. “After everything we’ve been through with witches, you think we should trust them now?” There was anger evident in his tone.Mira hesitated but held her ground. “I understand your history, but the Alpha’s life is at stake. This magic is old, older than anything I’ve seen. If we don’t do something,

He fought desperately to stay conscious. The pain from the open wound surged through him like waves, threatening to drown him. His vision blurred, the world around him spinning wildly as he struggled to keep himself awake.Black, abnormal blood seeped from the wound, and though he was vaguely aware of Tony’s desperate movements nearby, all he could focus on was the fire consuming his body from within.*Stay awake. For Elara. For the pack, and Family.* His mind repeated it over and over, a mantra to keep him grounded. Each breath was a battle, shallow and ragged, as if even the air resisted him. Arthur clenched his fists, a groan escaping him as he tried to force the pain down to his stomach.“This can’t be it,” he muttered under his breath. “I can't... Thi
