Flynn waited until his morning tea break with Sarah to discuss Lucas’ question from the previous day. Work matters were more important than a question like that so he had been holding his curiosity in. Sarah was good at understanding other people so she would be able to explain it to him.
It was time for his mid afternoon break which was welcome after working hard in the kitchen of the patisserie. Lucas ditched his patissier’s white uniform top in the changing room and put on a plain t-shirt. He walked out the changing room and into the main area with a hopeful gaze like he always did when it was his break. He was looking for the love of his life.
Flynn wasn’t sure if an international company showing interest in working with Chadwick’s Creations was a good thing or a bad thing for his stress. On one hand it showed that the company was doing well enough to attract a major international company and that was flattering. However, on the flipside, it had greatly increased his workload.
It felt like their visit was over all too soon. All of sudden Sarah announced they needed to get back to the office to be in time to prepare for the meeting and he had to say goodbye to Lucas. At least there had been time to finish the cake.
That evening Lucas returned to his flat in a ridiculously optimistic mood. Flynn had blushed absolutely wonderfully at his pronouncement and hadn’t complained about the cheek caress. Things were looking up for their relationship.
Walking out of the company building with his bag and coat in the early afternoon was a strange feeling for Flynn who was used to leaving for home at a much later time.Lucas
There was a moment of heavy silence in the air before Lucas spoke again. He knew he had a lot to do and it was a very large undertaking, but he was willing to do it all out of love. Flynn deserved the world and he was going to do his best to give it to him.
Lucas held his breath as he waited for Flynn’s response. He was longing for the answer. He had said it very directly so there wouldn’t be any space for Flynn to worm out of responding.
The look that Flynn gave him for saying that was nothing short of suspicious. Given everything he had said already, Lucas couldn’t exactly blame him for it. If their roles were switched, he would feel the same way.
2 years later:“Are you going to the patisserie later?” Sarah asked.
His aunt and uncle looked quite different compared to how they had looked before. Flynn reminded himself that it had been five years since he had moved out and said goodbye and a lot could happen in five years.
Dylan’s face was a picture and Flynn removed the hand from his shoulder. He realised after seeing a strong expression of anger form on his cousin's face that he hadn’t taken Dylan’s potential reactions into account. He didn’t want to be on the receiving end of anything physical so he took a cautious step away.
“Your boy- I mean the big boss has come to visit!” Steve announced with visible excitement.Lucas looked up from his génoise sponge mixture. That was unexpected.
Meredith was much sharper than he had ever given her credit for. He really had underestimated his secretary. He couldn’t even guess how she had managed to work that out.&ldq
Flynn woke up to the sound of birds tweeting outside in the window. He took a few seconds to process his changed surroundings. The plain white ceiling and blue bed covers meant he was in Lucas’ bedroom.
Lucas stilled at the question. It was the most un-Flynnlike thing he had heard come out of his boyfriend’s mouth. Why was he asking such a strange question?
Lucas was feeling faintly suspicious. Flynn had come across as very happy on the first two phone calls they’d shared after parting. Now he looked like he was pretending to be
That night was nothing but a sea of nightmares for Flynn. He saw everything that night. His parents dying, the fire, him being outcast at school, photos of him splashed across the
