Chapter 102: Love Hurts

"Ate Yannie, your hotdog is burning!" Yuri's loud shout startled me and brought me back to my senses. I saw the smoking pan and the burning hotdog in front of me, which made me panic.

In my haste, I quickly grabbed the hot pan. "Ahh!" I shouted in pain as I burned myself.

"Yannie!" Mom immediately rushed over to me. She faced the burning pan and then looked at me with concern. "Are you okay?" she asked while checking my burned finger.

"Yes, mom. I'm sorry. I burned the hotdog," I replied.

"Alright, sit over there. I'll take care of this," Mom said reassuringly, and finally, I sighed in relief and followed her instructions.

Mom approached me a moment later with the rescued burnt hotdog. She placed it on the table in front of me and then fetched medicine for my burned finger.

As Mom treated my burn, my vision suddenly blurred. Before I knew it, tears were escaping uncontrollably. Mom paused, looking at me with sympathy. "Yannie, my dear..."
