“Love, when are you going to talk to me?” Emerson asked. After he left their rented apartment, he went to the next city where Lucy was. It was a common routine for him. Even when they were staying in their old mansion, he always gave time to go and see his beloved.

“Love, please, talk to me. Are you still mad at me for not standing up for our daughter? Believe me; I'm only doing that to protect her from Merly. She'll do everything to hurt her if she finds out I cared for our dear Emerald.” Emerson continued talking to Ember but didn't get any reply.

Then he heard a knock on the door, so he got up from his seat and opened it. “What is it? Didn't I tell you not to disturb me whenever I'm with my wife?”

“I'm sorry, sir, but the house called, and Madam wants to talk to you.”

“That bitch, what is it this time?”

“I have no idea, sir.” Emerson sighed and went out of the room. But he made sure to lock the door before he went to his mini office, unaware that Ember had made a sudden movement.
