Chapter 10 Threats

It was amazing that a person could be so shameless.

"Well, after lunch."

After lunch at the Toland family's old house, they took their leave. They were a long way from the Vincent family home, and it took them more than an hour to get there.

Sigrid turned to look at George. "I'll go in alone. You wait for me here."

Before George could speak, Sigrid opened the car door and got out. Then she trotted up to the house and rang the doorbell.

Last night when she had taken Rebecca's place at the wedding, she had brought only her mobile phone and a charger with her. She'd even forgotten her house keys.

After ringing the doorbell twice, a house servant came to open the door.

Standing in the doorway, she could see Rebecca sitting on the sofa. Rebecca had specifically said to her agent that she was taking some time off to get married, so she had nothing to do these days.

Rebecca was okay with the fact that the bride had been changed, but she was not ok when she saw that Sigrid had come back.

Seeing that Sigrid had returned alone, Rebecca wore a sarcastic smile. "Why did you come back alone? Have you been loathed? As I said, it's useless for you to marry him. He won't touch you."

Sigrid stopped the servant from closing the door. She would be going right back out, so there was no need to close the door.

"What do you mean by what you posted on Facebook? You're the one who cheated before the wedding. How could you say that it was me? How shameless are you, Rebecca! You're antagonizing the Toland family by doing this! Issue a statement immediately on Facebook to explain everything clearly now!"

Rebecca smirked with indifference and said, "Why should I explain? How would I be able to remain in the entertainment business after such an explanation? Haven't you married into the Toland family? Let them take care of it if you can!"

Rebecca was not worried that the Toland family would explain it. Last night, Sigrid was asked to marry in her place. Wasn't that because George was angry with her and didn't want to marry her? In order to maintain the reputation of the Toland family, they asked Sigrid marry him. In that case, what was there for her to worry about?

When the news came out that she'd had an affair before the wedding, the Toland family would definitely be a laughing stock. Even if it was for the sake of reputation, the Toland family would definitely want to prevent this matter from becoming public. At most, it would be explained to the outside world as a misunderstanding and that George had wanted to marry Sigrid in the first place.

However, her fans had eyes. In the past, Rebecca had often attended events with George, so everyone would think that the truth was that Sigrid had seduced her brother-in-law and became his mistress.

Playing the victim, Rebecca could get the sympathy of fans and even gain a new round of fans because of the hot publicity that the story would generate.

"Aren't you worried that I'll tell the truth? Then you won't be able to survive in the entertainment industry!" Sigrid frowned.

Rebecca stood up, walked over to her, and whispered in her ear, "I have long thought that you might do something like this. Do you think I'm stupid? Last night, I asked someone to open your mother's tomb and take her ashes away. If you dare to do this, your mother's ashes... I'll throw them into some garbage dump somewhere!"

Hearing this, Sigrid gnashed her teeth. "My mother treated you well before she died. How could you do that?"

Rebecca gritted her teeth as well and said, "What do you mean by 'treated me well'? Because she was a rich lady, my parents divorced and my mom lived a hard life outside for so many years. How kind was she to me? Are you any better than she was? You just throw me scraps that you don't want!"
