CHAPTER 9

 

LUCIANA MILANO

 

I fall back on my chair as I let out a deep breathe that I didn’t know I was holding in. I don’t know why but everytime I’m around him it feels as if I’m under water. He just makes me so nervous and jittery like a teenager girl being in front of her crush and no before you guys think I have a crush on my Boss, it’s a no. A big fat No, it’s just he makes me nervous, he makes me feel stuff I’m not suppose to feel, feelings I only show to my daughter Ophelia.

 

I was so engrossed in sorting out the paperworks that Ares had kept for me that when I looked at my watch to see it’s already 3pm, I was suppose to fetch Ophelia from school but Ares told me that I can only leave once I’m done and if I leave the work unfinished he would definitely fire me tomorrow morning. I can’t leave this work unfinished and I can’t let my daughter wait for me at school.

 

I decided to ring up the one person I knew who would always have my back. I waited until I heard her chripy voice “ hellooo Lynn speaking” she says and I roll my eyes at how she always answer her phone. That’s one thing about Lynn she’s always the chirpy, hyper active whilst I’m the more quiet and reserve that’s why we are friends, she’s always there to brighten my darkess and dull days.

 

“ hey Lynn, I need a huge favor from you that’s if you aren’t busy, but if you are busy I’m totally screwed and –“ and once again I got cut off by Lynn “ Luci you are rambling again, what’s wrong? And no I’m not busy, my photoshoot has just ended now so I’m all free” she said a little calmer as she noticed I was freaking out, that’s the thing about me, when I ramble its either because I’m nervous or freaking out or sometimes both.

 

“oh thank God, I need you too fetch Olly for me from school, I can’t leave work now because I ended up coming to work late and Ares didn’t wanted me to leave until I was done and I couldn’t just tell him I need to leave because I have to fetch my 3 year old daughter from school because I haven’t told him I have a kid let alone a kid without a father” I rambled out burying my head into my two palms. I could already feel the massive headache piercing through my skull.

 

“woah calm down Luci, it’s okay, I will be glad to fetch my little Olly from school and plus I’m not doing anything and I would really love to spend time with her until you are done with work, so please stop stressing okay” she said slowly. I thanked her a million times before ending the call. I don’t know what I would have done without Lynn, she’s legit God sent for me, without her I would be losing my mind.

 

 ARES VASILIOS

 

I was reminiscing the past when the car came to a stop, I looked outside and saw that we have stopped infront of the giant gate of the school entrance. I walked out of the car that my driver opened up and dusted my suit jacket before leaning against the car door with my one hand in my pocket.

 

I was staring straight ahead as I could feel people mostly mom’s burning holes in my back and sides. I smirked as I took out my sunglasses and placed them on as I kept my eyes straight ahead keeping an eye out for my nephew and niece. I was actually happy that I could spend time with them, the last time I spend some quality time was when my brother and his wife had to go to England for a week which was like 3 months ago.

 

I heard the bell ringing as I saw all the small little angels running out of the gate to their parents, I had a small smile on my face as I looked at how most parents hugged their kids and asked them how their day was. I lowkey waited for the day I have my own, they will be treated as if they were the only kids in the world.

 

I took out my glasses and placed them inside my suit jacket as I saw Mateo and Merida running towards me with a huge smile on their faces but they wasn’t alone, Merida was holding another angel’s hand as she dragged her towards me. I bent down as the whole lot of them engulfed me into a huge hug, I chuckled as I hugged them back.

 

“hey my little Angels and of course my prince” I smiled widely as I took them in. My eyes then landed on the small charcoal hair angel with huge hazel eyes and an angelic smile. I smiled back at her “ and who is this other angel Merida?” I asked my niece, looks like Merida made a friend after all, when I mean after all I meant Merida and Mateo were always together as if they were stucked together.

 

“ unwle A this is my fwiend Lia, Lia, this is unwle A” Merida said as she stood next to me. Lia look really shy but gave me a small smile as she looked around, I myself also looked up to see what she was looking for until I realized she’s the only kid left here from Mateo and Merida.

 

“princess where is your mom or dad??” I asked her worriedly since she’s all alone here. “my mama didn’t come and I don’t have a daddy” she whispered more to herself but of course I heard. I frowned, how can she be here alone, I can’t just leave her here that would be so wrong. Maybe I could take her back inside the school and find out who her mother is and try to contact her. Just as I was suppose to get up and take her to the principal office I heard a noise more like a squealing coming from behind me.

 

I looked back at Lia as I saw her eyes widening and a big smile took over her face. “Aunty Lynn!!” she yelled as she run pass me to the person standing behind me. I turned around to see Lia hugging a really tall dark haired girl, she looked around my age maybe a year younger. I straighten up as I took both mateo and merida hands in mine as we watched the encounter in front of us.

 

The tall dark haired girl looked at me as her eyes widen in recognition. Something about this girl seem so familiar as if I have seen her before. Wait a minute wasn’t she the one with Luciana at the NYE party, I walked towards her and Lia as the dark haired tried to keep her posture, I could tell she was trying not to check me out, the keyword trying because she was failing miserably. I chuckled under my breathe as I stood infront of her and lifted my one eyebrow waiting for her explanation as to why she left a little girl waiting alone in school.
