Chad’s POV

After Megan and James left the girl smiled at me “Well they will be gone for most of the day, and I think your mind is confused enough that you will be fine here on your own. You don’t mind if I borrow your truck do you?”

I tried to form an answer, but the fog was preventing me from forming anything coherent. She gave me an evil smile that sent a shiver down my spine before she left me alone. After she was gone I walked around the house looking in draws trying to find anything that might explain what was going on. I came up empty, there was nothing personal anywhere in the house. The place was still done up for Christmas, I kept looking at the angel on top of the tree. It made me smile but I had no idea why. The only place left I could think to look was my office.
